      @wildwestfarmer Yes sir.They were.Being a farmer was awesome.It was the owner and his son.My dad and me and one more man.In Rosenberg,Texas.Sorghum and Cotton.Main crop being cotton.Helped them during the summer harvest when I was off from school for 3 months.Started as a kid helping them.Was taught how to drive a tractor at age 12.Drove tractor with auger for sorghum.And helped with the unloading of the cotton onto the trailers for the cotton harvest.Packed the cotton down on the trailers with a traumper.We worked on about 2000 acres.All John Deere tractors.Combines and cotton pickers.I learned to drive on the best small tractor ever.The famous 4020.This was in the 70s and 80s.Graduated from high school in 1983.Worked full-time farming till 1988 and decided to join military.Did 2 contracts for a total of 71/2 years.Never got back to farming sad to say.Anyway my dad did stay as a farmer full time until the age of 75 than got hit with stomach cancer and had to retire from farming.Passed away 2 years later.May he R.I.P.Anyway working with my dad was the best memories ever.A hard worker.Farmers are some of the hardest workers around.100 hours a week during harvest season was the norm for us.I enjoy your channel.Found it by accident but happy I did.Keep up the good work son.Your a smart man I must say.Your channel will grow.At least one or 2 videos a week will help.If you do that you will have about 25,000 subs in less than 6 months.Believe me.😊👍

    Like your videos reminds me of back when I was a kid back in 60s. We had Case equipment here in Hobbs NM and run four two row strips and attach them to 930 Case tractors had the basket overhead and no cab. Loud dusty some days were hot and then cold and drive into the side of the cotton trailer to dump forward into it. That’s if they were any cotton trailers available, Gins were smaller and slower and bails were much larger size but same weight. I remember dad converting his cattle trailer to carry cotton by putting cage wire in it to keep the cotton from falling out. Carried a lot of cotton though. Yeah you guys missed all the fun 😅❤

    Our cotton is still in harvested, that rain last weekend slowed us down again, but we’re about a week away once it’s dry enough for our custom harvester guy to get to it from what he told us.

    It is not excellent you choked up but you know what I mean. Do you have augers in the top of your basket like pickers?

    Western Tennessee here, don't see many if any cotton strippers in my area . Mostly now the cotton bailing pickers. There looks to be so much difference between a cotton stripper and a cotton picker..

    I still wanna know the difference between using a cotton stripper and a cotton picker? Why do you choose one over the other? Or triple our farms soon Alabama uses a cotton picker, Grieg farms in western Tennessee uses a cotton picker, you use a cotton stripper. As far as future videos, just keep showing your tillage, planting, mechanical work, and since I have not seen what you plant cotton seed with, I’d like to see you an explanation of that. Do use a corn planter? Do you use an air seater? Check out Welker farms in Montana. They farmed 10,000 acres of land that gets about 10 inches of rain per year, and they planted 3500 acres of winter wheat this fall for next year. They also have some interesting video of moving green bins. They have 60 foot air drills for planting all their crops. What kind of planters do you use?

      The link below is a video we posted earlier this year that showcases my cotton planter.

    Its been great following your harvest Casey. How do you harvest cotton for seed? Theres got to be growers out there that produce hybrid seed for farmers like you and I'm curious about how they harvest it. I'm in NZ and we don't grow cotton here.

    Always feels good to finish up although if it's good cotton kinda hate getting done. We lack about 2 days. Also lost a JD 9870 to a fire today with about 25 acres of beans to go. 24 has been tough down this way praying 2025 is better. Stay safe

      2498 is one of the best wilt varieties there is. This field is in progress of crop rotation to help with the vert. Glad to be done!

      @@wildwestfarmerI’m sure you need the cotton acres the following year but have you tried any 2 or 3 year rotations to break the cycle?

    How heavy would be a complete module ready for truck pickup weigh-?

    • @wildwestfarmer
      @wildwestfarmer  3 дня назад

      They vary depending on variety. 14,600 to 17,800 pounds is what are modules have average - that would be low and the high.

    What’s the purpose of the gate in the bale buggy?

    • @wildwestfarmer
      @wildwestfarmer  3 дня назад +2

      The boll buggy holds two cotton stripper baskets. The vain (gate) separates the two baskets so it can dump one at a time into the module builder.
