    As a Beijinger studying abroad in Italy I am very happy that you can visit my hometown. The hutong culture in Beijing has a history of hundreds of years. It is not only a residence, but also an old cultural city and a large museum. Its artistic and cultural value cannot be measured by money. You can taste some food, I know many Indians are vegetarian, China has a lot of delicious vegetables and vegetarian dishes, hope you have a good trip❤

      i am curious to know as many vegetarian Indian tend to avoid going to chinese restaurant in US eventhough they have vegetarian dish. They suspect pork oil is used or fish oil something. I dont mind but those friends never take dish if ordered from chinese restaurant unless it is from vegan like Loving Hut chain.

    • @yixuanliu150
      @yixuanliu150 Год назад +22

      @@truthteller2991 I think you are right that I ignored the pork olio. However most restaurants in China have dishes using peanut oil/rapeseed oil. I spent a month in the US, and I think American Chinese restaurants are more like "American Chinese food", which is modified and adapted to local tastes. There are 34 provincial-level administrative regions in China and the dishes in each province are different. ( Beijingers likes to use a lot of soy sauce, Shanghai cuisine is delicate and sweet, Sichuan and Hunan cuisine are very spicy, and Cantonese cuisine pays attention to the original taste of food…) No matter what taste people have they can find the Chinese food that suits them best.☺️

    From what I read, Chinese government demolished most of the Hutong to give way for high rise developments during early years of opening. But later some famous Chinese architects suggested that Chinese should keep some of the Hutong as National Heritage to let later generations know how the old Beijing is like. So the government kind of make law to protect these Hutong and that's why you can't see any renovations and new decorations of these old building. Very good video. I am a Chinese American fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin. I am very amazed at the amount of knowledge you have on China and its history. Peking is the Cantonese romanization, and Beijing is the Mandarin romanization, and yes, it means Northern Capital. Nanjing is Mandarin romanization, and Nanking is Cantonese romanization and yes, it’s another ancient capital of China meaning Southern Capital. Tokyo is called Dongjing in Mandarin meaning Eastern Capital. Xi’an, formerly known as Chang’an, another Chinese ancient capital, the prototype based on which Nara and Kyoto were built, is the Western Capital. So now you know except the Eastern Capital in Japan, Three other capitals are in China. 😂😂 As for that food that looks like a rat or bird, it’s called Ji Chi (chicken wings) Bao (covering) Fan (rice) 雞翅包飯 in Mandarin, meaning 「rice-stuffed chicken wings」. Enjoying your video from Los Angeles, USA. Have fun. I was born in Guangzhou, China, the capital city of Guangdong province. Of the eight major regional cuisines in China, Cantonese cuisine is the most famous and most seen worldwide. Cantonese originated from Guangzhou, China, aka Canton, the French pronunciation of Guangdong province. I hope you can travel to Guangzhou and enjoy its wonderful cuisine. Great videos.

      Before the border clashes there was no anti-China mentality in our media sphere but China attacking our borders while the nation suffered from Covid originating out of China didn't went down very well with the people and the leadership as well. Hoping the Chinese leadership will realize that they alone cannot undo the west's global order and making a friend in India would be much wiser than making an enemy. The Western nations don't try to capture each other's territory which enables them to act as a single block against any other rising power. They took down Russia before and they are going at China now. BRICS PPP share has overtaken the US+EU PPP share for the first time in two centuries which presents us nations to break free from the fiat dollar system sustaining their lavish lifestyles but for that we all need to work together as one entity. Hoping the two civilizations can get along in peace with each other in the future.

    Watching from Myanmar Mandalay, btw I'm a third generation Myanmar-Chinese
    I am curious and want to know Indian perspectives and reactions to things from mainland China. I also enjoy reading comments made by Indian viewers. Btw, I can speak and write Chinese language too, we learned it here in Myanmar through Chinese language school. My finished level was 12th grade ( high school), using the same Chinese curriculum from China Taiwan.
    I would probably send my kids to China for their university education, we all went to Taiwan to attend university in the past. Now some of us go to Taiwan and some are to China, more percentage are to China nowadays I guess. Hope India and Indian people become rich and prosperous as in ancient times.

I can buy six houses of 150 square meters in Shaanxi because of the history and culture. reasons and the history of preserving them. For these reasons, the nearby houses in Beijing are also carefully built and short. So Beijing is only the second or third largest city, while Shenzhen and Shanghai are more prosperous and bigger than Beijing. .

    The dilapidated houses and courtyard houses in Beijing are considered slums in the eyes of foreigners. In fact, the lowest price starts from tens of millions of RMB. In China, people with low and middle income live in high-rise buildings. They have no land in the city. There is no way to build houses. The low houses under the high-rise buildings were built by people with land. They are rich and can collect rent. They have already achieved wealth and freedom.

    The streets shown in the video, resembling "slums," are actually the most expensive houses and land in China. The people living there are all wealthy, and the housing prices there are not less than $1 million
