The amount of people who have thought they were haunted but turned out they were slowly being poisoned to death by carbon monoxide is actually astounding. Thanks to reddit when I hear haunted house stories now I think of carbon monoxide poisoning first. 😅

People always jump to that on Reddit haha! Good to check to make sure there’s no leak, but I doubt they’re all from that. I had haunting ghost experiences at a house I lived at for 4 years. The whole time I lived there, there were strange things happening. I would’ve died before we moved if it was carbon dioxide since I was also a child so easier to poison.

About the Dyatlov Pass hikers: the missing eyes and tongue is actually one of the least creepy parts of the story. It can easily be explained by wild animals eating the bodies. Scavenger animals, like vultures, often start with the eyes and tongue (and anus) as they are soft tissues, and eating them first gets them out of the way, making the inside of the carcass more accessible. Fun animal fact!

There actually was a killer who basically confessed to his crimes on reddit. The gist of the story was, this guy and his girlfriend briefly broke up. I think they were going to get back together or something and he was visiting her place while her roommate was out. They were in the kitchen and she ended up asking if he was with anyone else while they were separated and wanted him to leave after his answer. He kept trying to hug her and she grabbed a knife from the dish rack to try to get him away. Instead of leaving, he grabbed one too and ended up killing her? Then he went on the run and posted on reddit. I think people thought he was making stuff up until news came out about a woman found dead in her apartment.

He just sat at the foot of my bed smiling. We just made eye contact and had a staring contest until my eyes couldn’t stay open anymore. I did sleep at some point. I was legitimately terrified. After this moment, I was plagued with seeing and hearing various spirits for a full decade. So glad that I finally got rid of them. I still live in fear, they’ll come back.

He had multiple failsafes like that, and was a legitimate psychopath. It’s absolutely terrifying how people easily capable of the most horrific things walk unnoticed among us; our sorority sister’s boyfriend, that guy in the front pew at church, our football player classmate. @@bunnylacy2097 sorry for not seeing your comment 😅 From what I’ve heard and experienced it can be done in a sort of meditative state but when inducing Astral Projection through meditating your brain goes into an almost sleep like state almost like sleep paralysis but not if that makes sense? Sorry I’m not the best at explaining things but it’s basically when you’re either sleeping or in a self induced sleep like trance/ state to allow yourself to exist your body.
      I hope this helps

I was always scared to be in there with the lights off because I felt like someone was watching me from my closet. A few times while laying in bed at night I felt something pull my hair and poke me on the forehead. This went on for about a year or 2 until I read about mirrors being potential portals and decided to turn the mirror around facing the wall for the night. When I woke up I threw the mirror away and after that it all stopped. I fully believe something came out of that mirror and was in my room at night.

I’ve lived at my home for years and randomly I started to get sleep paralysis and sometimes see this dark black figure sitting at the top of my closet like a gargoyle, with red eyes staring at me. I was sure I was not dreaming. I finally spoke with my partner about it and when I was went to talk about the dark black figure, he cut me off and described exactly what I just described to all of you. We were freaked out obviously because if we were “dreaming” how the hell did we have the same dream multiple times???? Let alone once?! I learned how to sage and cleanse my home. Basically, if you don’t practice/participate in these rituals, it will do nothing but lead to the harmful, overharvesting of white sage. Instead, you can find a practitioner who can invite you into the ritual at your home and not spread cultural appropriation any further. Native American practitioners are more likely to better conserve the white sage population of the us than for profit vendors you find in new age retailers or Etsy sellers. As someone professionally diagnosed with the umbrella term parasomnia, specifically for sleep paralysis and night terrors, you don't completely get used to it. I have found ways to make it easier on myself, but it's still scary every time it occurs because you know it's not real, but you have to convince your body that it isn't.
Edit for context: I got tested when I was 14 because it was so bad that I was convinced one time that there was a man in the house. I am unfortunately one of the ones who experience visual hallucinations alongside the auditory ones. They've gotten less frequent since I moved houses, and I'm now a college student. My advice for those who suffer it as well is to wiggle your fingers and toes as much as you can. My best guess is that it triggers the body to recognize that you're awake. It works. Mostly.

Sleep paralysis does actually have an explanation. The body is supposed to be paralysed once you get to a certain level of sleep (which is why most of us don’t sleep walk or hit/kick our partners/pets in our sleep). Then once we start to wake up, then the paralysis subsides. However, sometimes, this process doesn’t occur properly in some people so the person will wake up but the body hasn’t gotten the message yet. Another example of this not working properly is when people sleep walk, or do other stuff while completely asleep.

I understand that you need the monetary revenue, but i think staying on the right side of history is far more important, and that way you won’t come across as performative. Please don’t ignore this comment. The situation is dire and your platform can help

That’s because no one really cares they just say what the mass public wants to hear so they don’t get in trouble🤷‍♂️

Perhaps they were not aware of that. I wasn’t and i am aware about some other brands that have been donating money to Israel. It’s hard to know every brand or company that does that though. We can always try to let people know nicely instead of assuming they already knew and ignored it.

i have sleep paralysis normally every time i take a nap, and sometimes at night. I experience hallucinations with feeling trapped in my body and also experience what it feels like me getting out of bed and going to do things in my house with an endangered feeling/ again hallucinations of things or people. Ive also realized for me it can be triggered by going to sleep with noises around me, or talking.
