I bought mine a week ago. Absolutely beautiful and so well made, great attention to details. Someone on my way to work on train asked me if it is a vintage piece. And that's exactly how it looks. The DS Super Ph500m, Action Diver 38mm, DS PH200M, DS Chronograph, man Certina has released some of the best watches in the last few years. Such a great and underrated brand. I love it!
Totally agreed. I have the diver version ( Action Powermatic 80 ),wich I love, and Inow would be really happy to extend my collection with this dress - watch - beauty above.
Great looking watch, but seriously. I don’t get these vintage looking watches with a lug to lug more than 47 mm and 40-41 mm in case size. I get that some people do. Love your channel!
Thank you Stefan! Yes apparently as a trend the sweet spot of watches in around 39 - 43 mm. and the brands apparently decided to play safer in this area. no matter if they are vintage inspired or modernized.
@@AK-rq1cz Absolutely, works for divers. Love the size of my Orient Kamasu. In my opinion a watch with 38-39 mm in case size works for people with a large wrist aswell. Looks more elegant.
Again a beautiful watch from Certina. The brand is underrated in my opinion they really have a luxury class looks and a very good built quality. Thanks for your video's.
Very nice video! As a collector who appreciates everyday working class vintage pieces as much as the high end if not more, I really am enjoying your channel! Something very interesting about this under appreciated segment. Good job!
I had been looking at captivating watch for a while now. Your review pushed it over the edge. Wasn’t easy to find through the website but I tried again and a dealer popped up so I bought it immediately! Thanks you for reviewing it.
Love your content and many of the watches you review. This is a beauty; the level of craftsmanship at this price point must surely be unrivalled. Continue your great presentations, I think you're one of the best out there.
Holy, Certina is back with a beautiful vintage classic. As they did during 50-60s, high quality, value and looks great. Nice review and the watch is stunning, great that they used the open back for that very nice and robust movement. Certina is back with a hard punch :)
I bought a Certina DS-1 Himalaya about a year ago and I love it. As time goes on I appreciate it even more. The problem is that Certina continue to develop watches like the reviewed DS Powermatic, DS Chronograph and 38 mm DS Action Diver, not to mention the PH 500. I want all of them. Great reviews! Keep them coming.
I had my DS First Day/Date Auto for over 7 years now. Has some knocks and scratches on the case, fell down from around 1.5m to hard stone ground, has been treatee like a beater. After all these years it still runs absolutely fine and feels rock solid. Well, it's a Certina DS, it's like a mechanical G-Shock 😁👍
@@jrgdrumsandwatches honestly at this point it doesn’t surprise me , it’s almost criminal they don’t get enough attention here in the States. Top notch brand the value, reliability and looks it’s really something.
Love almost everything about this watch; especially the gold tone case and gold dial. If it were in the 36-38mm range size wise, with about 46mm lug to lug, I'd be running for my checkbook. But alas, 41mm is so 2010. Time to start returning to more classic sizes for classic watches. So classy.....so big. :(
As a vintage watch lover. gold/champagne dials are some of my favorite dials. A no date or perhaps a date wheel with a less bright contrast would make it even better.
Certina are certainly producing some interesting pieces. Hopefully watch fans will subscribe because it's a great resource to have when choosing a time piece!
Just got this watch and I absolutely love it. Classic look, but sporty as well. I have it on a blue nato with gold pvd buckles. Thank you for a great review and greetings from Norway.
Been looking for a modern champagne on gold watch. At a reasonable price. Love the dressy field watch asthetic. Big fan of Certina and would purchase today if 38mm.
Great review, very happy you picked the gold colorway. I’m ok with 41 diameter, my only tweak would be to increase the size of the numerals slightly. Not by much, but at first glance they come off as shrunken compared to the openness of the dial
Great watch, I have a Certina DS (ref 5301 013) in my collection. Never had a service and still works. Great review... and now this watch is on my waiting list :D
The first time I saw it I could not believe how gorgeous it was! It looks very classy yet has that aura that reminds me of a military watch. It does exhume an aura of warmth with at that colour. I’m seriously considering getting it but I’m a bit worried about the size.
Same here Gabz, I was expecting for a ''muted'' field watch but in reality it looks extremely well. It wears pretty small. due to the reduced height. it lays thin on the wrist.
Nice review! Beautiful watch but I'd have to try one on to decide if it fits. 41mm is right outside my comfort zone especially with the long lug-to-lug.
I bought the Certina Chrono because I saw your video.... And yes it is true it is one of the most beautiful chronos novelties of recent times. I don't like the model vintage DS so much because of the gold tone. But luckily there are other colors. Your watch reviews are always very tasteful.
Thanks. I love this brand. For the price I can't find anything close to the quality of Certina. I don't have a gold watch but now I think I need this one. Beautiful vintage look.
Stunning piece! Especially the indices that gracefully wrap around each circular luminescent pip. Once again, however, it's massive! Why Swatch brands are trying to make us strap pocket watches on our wrists is anyone's guess, but it certainly misses the mark for more than half of the world's population that are smaller in stature. Too bad, as Certina is an affordable brand with wonderful heritage, plus thanks to its familial Swatch ties, incorporates one of the better budget movements available (although I liked it more at 28,800 vph), Your review is once again superb, however, and for larger folk, this watch may make sense as it provides a lot of wrist presence. I'll keep shopping, mind you, and keep wearing my vintage '50s Rado President Monorex Radoflex, Speedy Reduced, Mido Commander 1959, lovely little Timex Marlins, various vintage Seikos, Bulovas, Orfina, etcetera. On that note, please share some smaller alternatives with "wee" smaller guys. I believe, if you do, your subs will grow even more, as you do such a great job with your vids. All the best!

Why certina can't make their watches in a proper vintage size... 36 would have been perfect for this style. Or offer both size. It's like the new ds ph200 it's a nice 39mm but they put some diamonds because they want it to be a women watch. Make no sens to me.
