Snes had great picture, especially FX chip games, but the Genesis had the best sound! I'm so happy this was Genesis remixed! It is very well done! I can so easily put this in for the Star Light Zone >w
It really does! They both use an electronic piano-style patch on the same FM chip. This track has some "not approved by Genesis purists" reverb on it, though (:
@@ItterKeb Turns out it sounds like the Star Light Zone because it *is* from it: "VOPM Patches: Sonic the Hedgehog - Star Light Zone (high lead)" Me, from my own video's description. I made this so long ago I forgot XD
Thanks, 8Bitkasper AKA the dopest 8-bit ghost around! :) I'm usually very critical of my own tracks but I'm very satisfied with how this one turned out.
+Linda Yates Thanks, Linda! It's a hell of a lot better than my current rendition of "Carol of the Bells." OK, OK, it's not as bad as I made it sound... but it definitely needs work ;)
I can definitely hear some similarities in the style. Phantasy Star IV is in my Genesis right now, actually! I don't know if this interests you, but I actually used a Phantasy Star patch (Land Master AXV-25) for the main lead of this track: Sonic & Knuckles Collection - Launch Base Zone, Act 2 (Sega Genesis 16-bit Remix)
@@liamtheyoshi8089 It was a marketing campaign that I was referencing. You see, back in the early 90's when Sega was in head competition with Nintendo, one of the main marketing campaign slogans that Sega used was the phrase "Sega does what Nintendon't" obviously a pun on Nintendo. They made this slogan to make the Genesis/Mega Drive head in the competition, as long with the "Blast Processing" slogan that the Genesis/Mega Drive used. Sega thought that the Genesis/Mega Drive was more powerful than the upcoming Super Nintendo (Even thought the Genesis/Mega Drive was actually weaker than the Super Nintendo) so hence the phrase "Sega does what Nintendon't". I guess you learn more everyday lol.
Descarga un emulador como "Project64" o "Mupen64" para jugar y busca "n64 roms" en Google para ROMs (juegos). Google es el mi mejor amigo cuando buscar para roms. Lo siento por mi español básico. No es mi primer idioma :)
Кейли Тамирианская You're really splitting hairs here. The Sega Genesis uses a Yamaha YM2612 chip which also has a channel for 8-bit PCM samples (drums or vocals). It also has an 8-bit PSG that is generally used for noise-based sounds and additional synths. However, the music is primarily generated with the Yamaha FM synthesizer. It gives it that characteristic Genesis sound. The Sega Genesis is known world-wide as a 16-bit console so why would I name this "8-bit remix?" Everyone would think it was an NES or Sega Master System track.
Dire Dire Docks Zone Act 1
Dire Docks Zone.
Sonic: *floats on water*
I like how this uses instruments from Star Light Zone's music.
This is like 2 childhood memories in one song, I loved Mario and Sonic while growing up.
This sounds very pleasing to the ear. The ringing really stands out.
Star Light Zone + Dire Dire Docks = Brilliance
Dire Dire Docks soundtrack is legendary.
This sounds amazing. ;-;
Thanks! :)
You're welcome!
reminds me of ecco the dolphin.
Thanks, I'll take that as a compliment since that game had a beautiful soundtrack.
instead of an dolphin it's an eel :/
@@tiodazinternetz Ecco The Eel from the hit game on the SEGA Genesis :)
1.5x sounds like an actual Sonic zone
It gas that sonic 3 and sonic 1 feel and i love it

Would it surprise you if the SNES could actually replicate this at a much higher audio quality?
Because it can with little effort.
But the Genesis could do even better if cartridge space wasn't an issue.
but this is nintendo 64 not snes :D
Theironsword The snes is sample based. The MegaDrive isn't. End of story
The electric piano-style lead *is* from the Star Light Zone (:
The start sounds like star light zone

What would Metal Cap theme be like in Sega mode? The water level is also where you find it when you go thru the maze and reach the bottom.
you're thinking of hazy maze cave, which has water but just isn't a water level.
Gosh, My 90's kid inside is showing drastically!
Pretty cool hybrid!
Super Mario Genesis FTW
Blast processing xD
RediMRG

Sega builds memories.Even if you cry.
Great work!

Dire dire docks zone act 1
I'm imagining Mario 64 on the Sega Genesis would play kinda similar to Bubsy 3D and now I need to go read the Bible, excuse me
SEGA DOES WHAT NINTENDON'T

Nintendoes what sega dont, and sega does what nintendont.
But Nintendo made Mario 64.

The world if Sonic could swim:
It sounds like something from Ecco the Dolphin
Drowning Music plays at 00:20
0.75x for Psyche Out
Try Putting this on Speed 2
I feel like the track is going to explode at 2x speed, lol.
1.25x kinda makes it sound like a drum & bass song.

This sounds like it could have been in Ecco The Dolphin
Ever played Star Fox?
I remember playing Star Fox on the N64 but that was like 20 years ago. Are there any stand-out tracks?
Sounds more like Etrian Odyssey if you ask me.
Mario the plumber 64
how it sounds to get dire, dire doxxed.
Hey. This in not bad.
Sonic can't swim...
Ecco anyone???
nintendont does what sega does but worse

Sega Genesis is not 16 bit music! It's 8 bit!
I face palmed even the sega genesis cover literally says 16 bit on it...
Actually Sega Genesis IS 16 Bit, Sega master system/Game Gear is 8 bit
HUNTER PINDER It's because you are idiot. It has 16 bit GRAPHICS, not music.

The SEGA Soundchip can be so nice?
Wow.
Wish Sega has a little bit more talent to make GOOD Videogames.
Yes, I'm a Nintendo Fan
