just wanna say thank you William, I've watched all your Game Theory videos and read your book. they are really amazing and help me understand the materials better. -from an Econ student
It's 1 am and I am not sure whether I am just tired, but at 1:35 you say that -1 is better than 0 and player 2 would chose to fight if player 1 was strong and had revealed himself. That has to be wrong right?
Pooling? More like "cool"-ing, because this stuff is so neat! Equilibrium? More like awesome-librium! Hiding? More like deriving...a lot of enjoyment and satisfaction from this series! Hiding, more like... Actually, I think it's best to stop here. 😎
Hi, what should I do if I need to check for profitable deviations and the other side of the extensive form is an information set (i.e. player 2 has an information set after the strong and weak type play reveal)?
Impatiently waiting for your next videos. We really enjoyed the recent videos. Wonder if there is any schedule for releasing future lectures regarding Semi-separate equilibrium, Sequential ones etc. Thanks a lot!
Semi-separating equilibrium is three videos away. But I have no schedule for it, and the semester is about to start. So it could be anywhere from three weeks to six months before I get around to doing it.
I think that in general it does make a difference. This video just analyzed the strategy where player 1 always hides (and found a PBE), but William alluded to the fact that the analysis for player 1 always revealing himself would not be trivial.
Do you arbitrarily think of the game as separating or pooling and solve accordingly? If that's not the case how would we know if it's a separating game or a pooling game?
It seems that in this case, the strategy of player 1 to always hide and player 2 to always quit *is* a PBE. So I'd say that it is feasible, unless you are using "feasible" to mean something different than just being a PBE.
I guess we're all getting more serious with time :) That aside, you helped me and some fellow students immensely with your videos. Watched most of them and learned more than in hours of lectures. Good job. Thank you from Norway.
Great video series. Small mistake on the SPNE/backwards induction... If Strong type reveals, she would not fight, she would quit. 0 > -1
Yikes
This is seriously one of the best explanations around for this type of games thanks
I feel as empty as when you have watched such an amazing show on TV and the last episode from the last season ends...
Hey it's October 2021 and there are five more videos in the Game Theory 101 playlist if you're interested.

How is getting your degree going (or how did it go)?
hard dude. hard@@PunmasterSTP
@@ashlinmathew7345 Ah I’m sorry to hear that. I hope things get better.
@@PunmasterSTP thank you sm! Last exam for the semester today!! Hope everything is going well for you
@@ashlinmathew7345 I’m glad to hear it and I hope you can enjoy your break!
damn these videos are better than 2h long lectures, I wonder why I still go to university
How's university going these days?
Thanks. I've been following through your lectures while reading through the textbook Multiagent Systems and your lectures have been quite helpful.
Great tutorials! When is the next video about off the path believes coming?!

When is the next one coming? So desparate to see it!

It helps me so much, current U of R graduate
Meliora!
thanks will. May I ask, if it is matter for pooling which side of the game in the very first place?
I think that in general it does make a difference. This video just analyzed the strategy where player 1 always hides (and found a PBE), but William alluded to the fact that the analysis for player 1 always revealing himself would not be trivial.

You have to guess and check as you go.
Thank you so much for this video!
Thanks a lot! I could understand it finally!
Thanks Will, Game Theory is so interesting! :)
Is this similar to the 'quiche or beer' dueling game?
Yes, and beer-quiche is two videos away.
@@Gametheory101 I'm not sure if I can wait until then. It might be...unbeerable.
Is pooling equilibrium feasible?

your voice sounds angrier compared to your first video
Maybe I am just getting angrier as I get older?
