Believe the biggest stability in SPJ is your acid wrapped eyes for your rod. Then length of reel handles falls more toward individual fisherman's physical requirements. Nice try on a tricky topic Kit... Tight lines always,
The handle length matters John, It's a lever - you won't know the difference really, if you haven't tried. As far as the rod eye wraps are concerned, I use both and really have no preference except on long fall rods, which I like spirals on.
Hi! Your channel has been probably the most informative I have come across on youtube when it comes to everything fishing..keep up the great work! My question is who in your opinion makes the best aftermarket handles? Where can I find them?
Nobody knows about the long arm physics. I’ve watched the video on your torium 14 and it’s really informative. I fish for grouper in the Gulf of Mexico. I use a torium pga (slow gear ratio) for it but why would I do that when I can just get the hga with a longer handle.
@@TheFishingKit I got a Daiwa saltist bg 35h I was wondering where you get a 125mm long arm handle I live in the us and looks like my only option is geomexus
great video I am interested, since I have the same reel that is in the video (shimano ocea conquest 201hg), what length of handle should I put Best regards
It is Physics. The handle is a lever - The longer the lever, and the further the effort acts from the pivot, the greater the force on the load will be. You don't have to believe me - it's physics :) The resulting effects of having your jig in the strike zone longer is just an effect of forming a bigger circle (which slows down the rate of retrieve) that's the control bit. In any case, it is physics, up to you if you believe me or not, I am not selling anything - this insight, is offered free.
We have long handle/ custom handle for jigging reels and baitcaster reels as well😃
I noticced, but i havent tried them yet.

Thanks Faisal, I appreciate that. Handles - depends on budget, but check out SOM and Gomexus. They both make good handles in different price points.

Allan - lol, they skipped physics class when the teacher was discussing levers. :D

Where did you get the handle knobs?
A friend got them for me when he heard I was looking for long handles.
Also handles nowadays are lighter than the OEMs
Depends on which handles, but yes. You can reduce weight by changing the handles.

More control, More leverage how? Because you say so. Sorry buddy. I don’t believe you. Your video is everywhere.
