@ProjectNismoKY Im not sure what youre asking about the swap part, but it came with the QR25DE and a full SR20VE was swapped in from a late 90s Nissan Primera. These engines can be had from around 1500-2000 from many different places. Id recommend gspec performance. I am using a B13 SE-R ecu with a Nistune daughterboard for tuning. In the B15 Sentra, the front and rear mounts will line up as only the 2000-2003 Sentra SE models came with the regular SR20DE. My engine is for the most part stock.
@likess The wing is off, but its going back on after its modified for a taller height and a Gurney flap added. But after the rest of the car gets some extensive aero work. Full flat underbelly, front splitter, canards, side skirts, side ducts and rear diffuser. Then the wing goes back on.
@nissanunlimited Well the 2.0L was in it when I bought it. It may not have as much torque as the 2.5 but it makes more power than the 2.5 and the bottom end is stronger and there is more aftermarket support for the 2.0.
@ProjectNismoKY Custom made 3" intake, fujitsubo 421 header and custom 3" exhaust. No accessories, electric water pump and oil cooler. Ignition is also stock. The VE is the way to go. If you want to turbo it, you can do that too. They come in a VET variant.
@redboyslimshady This is a VE specific header and it runs anywhere from 600-800 bucks from any website that sells authentic JDM parts. I didnt buy it, it was on the car when I bought it.
It is a Greddy MSS used to switch on the solenoids for the cams. It is necessary for me because I am not using the stock ECU. I am using a Jim Wolf Technology ecu for an SR20DE which has no protocol to switch on cams. The ECU will be shortly replaced with a Nistune ECU
NASA rules say the engine must be from the same manufacturer. And the SR20 did come in the B15 chassis as the SE model from 2000 to 2003. Except the block and head are the VE variant of the SR20. It's just a fire extinguisher. It's legal to race. Not street legal.
better aftermarket support. Cheaper parts. Better engine management and tuning options. Stronger stock bottom end. Easy to make power with. VVL. Just a few reasons.
Hey, I have a 2003 Nissan Sentra Se-r and I was wondering what I could do with it. I have the 1.8L 4 cylinder and I'm looking for a possible swap to do
@teameccracing34 its pretty good, but even after its stripped down to bare minimum its still a few hundree pounds too heavy. But if you can make the engine have about 230whp or more its not bad at all it can keep up with most anything on a track.
140kw and 220nm. im rebuilding with sr16ve pistons. it should come to a 13.5:1 cr. im looking for about 164kw on E85 or E98. maybe even a couple lbs of boost for a bit more power.
I am not sure the radiator part number. It was in the car when I bought it. Im sure you could get a part number by taking measurements for what you need to fit in your car, and either give them a call, or send them an email to see if they have one already for your car or one that is an appropriate size for what youre looking for. I'd go check for a part number stamped on it, but the car is buried in storage right now til I get some time to work on it.
have you dyno'ed her yet? here in SA we get more or less 162kw and 230nm(70mm intake version)(48mm intake makes about 148-252kw and 220-228nm) with same mods as urs exept for the weight loss. but weve realised if yoy want more responsiveness and better acceleration with a short induction kit instead of a long induction.
Don’t feel bad. I used to scare my kids with my car too. Now that there older. They say “make the turbo go fast”. Lol. Love it. I will be teaching them how to drive manual, double clutch, and heel toe before they get there license
@RedDragonV09 NICE. Rare motor. Lemme ask your opinion--Gotta '04 SpecV. DailyDriver. Would you go VQ swap or your(SR20VE) route? And why? Is the SR20VE hard to get parts for?
I have a mint 2004 Spec V with a smoked engine, somebody locally is selling a SR20VE for $400!, which is way less than than the QR25DE. Is this a relatively (former Euro Technician) engine swap? I mean, can you give me a simple list of what needs to be done? I can't seem to find a good forum on it.
nowadays you could do all kinds of swaps. the most common swap right now is the LS swap...... but if you're considering doing it all nissan, sr20, or rb20. the good thing about your year of 200sx is that its rear wheel drive. if you were still considering keeping the stock engine and trans but wanted to soup it up. get it compression tested first (theres no point investing money into that engine if its gonna fail fast) and then look into the cams then a ecu tune. either aftermarket cams or go to a machine shop, see what they could do. then do a stage 2-3 clutch kit (assuming its already a manual trans). for ideas you should visit a site named moto iq, spearheaded by an engineer named Mike Kojima. he has a big name in nissan and does great things with them
im sittin here trying to figure out how you can legally race with an engine that never came in that car's generation??? or do you not do sanctioned events? and i didnt see an external kill switch, do you have one mounted somewhere? i saw what looked like a fire extenguisher bracket on the passenger seat location. onboard fire supression?
Bro did you use the spec v 6 speed trans? Did you have to custom bell housing for the ve? This is crazy as hell and just now popping up for me. I have a 2002 spec v with the qr25 in it and a 2000 Sentra se 2.0 with the roller rocker sr20 and it’s manual.
Anything will fit to anything with a proper bellhousing that bolts to both. Whether there is a bellhousing that fits what you're looking for, that's another story and I don't know if one exists. But that doesn't mean that Nissan doesn't have that kind of combination in any of their vehicles. You'd have to do some research on that. Or, have a custom bellhousing made to mate the engine and transmission combo you're looking for. I can only confirm sr20 can work with the 6 speed from the qr25 using a p12 bellhousing.
i know you posted this a year ago, BUT just in case you still have that car: Those altimas are a lot bigger bodied as opposed to the sentras. is it possible, yes, is it worth it? i dont think so. you have some big factors here. starting with the key for instance, it has a chip. the front of its held with a big square subframe, you'd have to mess around and figure out what kind of axles will be long enough to extend all the way out to the spindles, or get custom ones built for it... etc... the list goes on.. Stillen used to produce a good underdrive pulley (lightweight crankshaft pulley) look at that, look into the 2.5s manual transmission swap, since its front wheel drive you need to strengthen the rear so get a rear sway bar, Stillen also has a perfomance fuel chip (expensive)... if you have to worry about Emissions dont even mess with the performance chips, exhaust manifolds and cold air intakes.
whats the difference between that engine and the factory one? im looking into buying a sentra, could you please give me some info, website perhaps, thanks if you respond =)
If you dont mind me asking where did you buy your engine cause i got a 2002 nissan sentra SE-R Spec V and i want to swap it with sr20de that i found on a website. Just need to know who i can trust where i can buy my engine haha cause yours looks clean
@ProjectNismoKY if you got the money you can also check out mazworx website...they are selling sr24ve's that are capable of 300hp+ NA...but they are like $8-10k :/
It used to. Lol its under, what you might call, a long term rebuild. Gotta buy all the parts over time since funds are low right now. Turbo 2.3 stroker is what it will become.
+Eric Gomez it can be done. Some time and a little bit of money, it won't be too bad. The expensive part would be if you wanted the 6 speed out of the spec v. The transmission and the bell housing ain't cheap.
+RedDragonV09 yeah I love it it's my first car and the body is in great condition but I just want more power it think the 2.0 or 2.5 would do the trick. but yeah my love the way it sounds looks great also
i cant believe im watching this 11 years later contemplating this same swap
Shit... It has been 11 years, hasn't it. Time flies!
@@RedDragonV09 i was probably playing xbox 360 when you shot this
@@whynotvoid me too! I think I was playing Red Dead Redemption and Forza 4 back then.
wow thats one of the cleanest spec v's ive seen and sr20ve as well was put together nicely.

what kinda of engine swap could i do on a 1997 nissan sentrs its got the 1.6 in it

Yes the tranny is the Spec V 6-speed. The bell housing is from a Nissan Primera P12 so that the tranny will mate to the block.
What was all needed for the complete swap? Stand alone ecu?
this is sick do you have a jmr header?
Do you know if a 2.5 transmission fits a 2.0 automatic

i looked it up 187hp in the neo vvt version not bad swap for a 2.5 that goes how much does that engine cost?

thats awesome i need to fix mine up.
how much horsepower does the sr20ve have

is dat a vetec controller u are using.?? is it necessary .??
what kind of muffler is that?

how much did it cost you to this entire swap? did you replace the motor mount

Gspec.com is pretty good. Greg won't jerk you around and usually has pretty good prices.
+RyzeAboveWar231 Whats the point of going from a 2.5L engine to a 2.0? Is there really that much more you can do with it?
+Jordon Renn yes

Did you use de QR25DE transmission for the swap?
.
Yes. The Primera P12 bellhousing is needed to mate the Spec V 6 speed trans to the SR20.
How much did this whole thing cost you?
What engine did u have previously , and was it an exact bolt on ?
The engine that comes in the car is a QR25DE. I didnt personally do the swap. I bought the car with the swap already done.
amazing!
im pushing 325 hp with just nismo head and cam

Go sr20. parts are abundant for all kinds of stuff and much cheaper than the qr25. Sr20 blocks are cheaper than the qr as well.
Owned!!
VE's are far, far better then a DET motor
What is the weight after you stripped it down sir?
Do you still own it?
I still have it. It's been sitting in the garage for a while. I want to say it was 2300 lbs. OEM weight is 2750.
@@RedDragonV09 nice swap man 😁 8
Whats transmission are you using ?
It's the spec v 6 speed. But in order for it to mate to the Sr20, it needs the Primera P12 bellhousing.
