I don’t think I’ve seen a franchise elevate the way Mission Impossible has, and it’s wild. For me, the change starts with 3. 1 was good, 2 was rough, 3 and 4 were great, and 5 and 6 were fantastic. Cruise knew what he was doing sticking with Christopher McQuarrie, who made these movies more than just fun blockbusters. The craftsmanship behind the filmmaking on these movies is on another level. Say whatever you want about Cruise with his Scientology stuff, but the man adores his craft, respects audiences like nobody else, and is a fantastic producer. I can’t wait to watch this. Pure cinema.
Tim was dangerously close to Mission Impossible 1 slander there lol Like, I think the word "iconic" is overused these days, but the infiltration scene from MI 1 is actually a literal film icon
Just wanted to say that the space movie that Tom Cruise is going to do is not mission impossible, it's another movie with the director of mission impossible with partnership with SpaceX.
Yeah I’ve heard a lot of people say that they’re expecting that in the next mission impossible film, I feel like people are setting themselves up for disappointment. I’ve been trying to comment that correction with multiple people, because once a RUclipsr starts saying that it spreads like wildfire. I wish they did the last one in space though since it would be perfect but I know that it’s maybe not possible for some reason.
@@MrDamsky100 That's fine. People are allowed to have different opinions. Both movies are great and I'm not saying that as an indictment of Fallout, just that I think Rogue Nation is VERY slept on

It's not a true M:I without Tom running and Tom doing his own stunts. This trailer...I love so much! Classic M:I! Love it! This time next year, here we go!
2 was my first introduction to Tom Cruise. I remember watching it when I was 6 with a friend and being overwhelmed lol so it holds a special place for me even though it’s not the best.
Tom Cruise never disappoints the audience. The man is a true daredevil, a perfectionist, and genius when it comes to his movie stunts and production. He risks his life for the audience. The Mission Impossible movie series is probably one of the greatest series in action movie history. He is a legend. Never forget that.
I literally did not think this was a real trailer for a real mission impossible movie until I saw you guys reacting to it here. Literally thought this was a fan trailer.
I’m honestly surprised that Tom Cruise didn’t fall even faster in that last shot, given the fact that he has balls the size of boulders between his legs!!! I honestly don’t think we will ever get another actor or actress in our lifetime who puts much effort into their stunts or is as much of a daredevil as Tom Cruise
Ving and Simon are not doing the same job. Vings character is a computer guy, Pegg is a tech/gadget guy. Both can do each others job but they are very different skill sets. Its the difference between a hacker and 007s Q.(Apologies for going that hard and nerdy! Lol)
You guys should watch The Firm it’s like the movie that coined Tom Cruise running. It’s a conspiracy driven movie about lawyers and the mob it’s pretty good. By god Tom running is a literal plot point.
Do they use the same exact alleyway in every movie? Lol! The Fiat car chase looks like the same street as Black widow car chase and from the raptor chasing the motorcycle in Jurassic World trailer. All jokes aside this trailer's great. Can't wait!
you would be surprised how many movies use the same locations, just dress it slightly different or shoot it at a different angle to make it appear unique or new. it comes down to ease of access and use and cost, so locations are commonly reused
Andy’s impression of the villain wasn’t from ghost protocol, but rogue nation. Funny nonetheless. Also I wouldn’t count on the outer space stuff, Mcquarrie said that isn’t going to happen in the mission impossible movies and that’s planned for a separate outer space movie. So wouldn’t get my hopes up.
Tim saying this got the MGSV feel to it, but I personally it has the Uncharted feels to it, especially since some shots Tom Cruise really looks like Nathan lol
So… in the first film, Jon Voight’s character was the lead from the original tv series. So my theory is that this two-parter will echo that story and Ethan will, now nearing the end of his own career, be tempted to accept that the entire system is corrupt, to take what he’s earned, and get out. There are no good guys anymore, so pick a side. But Ethan being Ethan.. can’t accept that.
Love you guys but I will never understand your preoccupation with thinking every spy franchise (like 007) needs a team?! The thing that made Mission Impossible unique way back when was its use of a diverse rotating cast. The first 2 films sucked because it tried to rework the franchise to fit Cruise alone. The only issue I have as an old school uber fan is Cruise constantly being the focus. It’s always been an ensemble franchise. I CAN NOT WAIT!!!
People need to stop shitting on MI:2. If you think it's bad, you're wrong, and you're most likely basing that opinion off of what other people told you to think back when you half-watched it one time many years ago. Watch it again, it's brilliant. It's an absolute blast and the stunts are incredible. MI:2 is a gem of the series, and dare I say it is an objectively better film than Ghost Protocol.
For me the key to Mission Impossibles future is going back to tv! The franchise was the sister series to Star Trek when it started. Theres no reason it can’t enjoy the same cross media resurgence. It’s built to keep going with new characters more than Trek ever was.
The thing, with that film, is that the chances that it will suck are virtually non-existent. At least, if you like what the franchise has been doing for the bast ten years, you WILL love it. Because the people behind it are too good. Because Cruise is too good (not saying his filmography is perfect). I love the "McQ" era, Rogue Nation is a masterpiece imo, and I can't wait for that movie to be released. One damn year!
I loved the last two Mission impossible movies five and six rotation and fallout are the best the first four films were MacGyver dressed up in a minim black suit pretending to be mission impossible we didn’t work but by hiring the Director and the writer of five and six who is now going to direct seven and eight which is actually going to be one film in two parts it just shows you how good it can be looking very much forward to seeing this and having it in my video library how do you know so much about me
Am I missing something? Nick and Andy and even Kev on another episode have referenced them filming in outer space for Mission Impossible, but I swear that was a different Tom Cruise film in production…
Yeah, they're just confusing two projects. The space film that Cruise is doing is not a Mission: Impossible film. I don't believe there are any rumors about any space stuff in either Dead Reckoning movie.
Trust me, if they had already shot Tom Cruise to the ISS, you would have heard it first in the news. Nonetheless, there was some Russian production a couple of months ago that did some shots in space and this got some news media mentions (movie is called The Challenge after some additional research)
after MI 3 the series for me is a dud. I'm not a popcorn, over the top, blockbuster guy. tho I hope it's successful, just because I'm not as into them after 3 I still watch them eventually.
Ever since Ghost Protocol, Mission: Impossible began to mould itself into a more James Bondisque tone, while keeping it's own uniqueness alive. And I loved that. Except for Mission: Impossible II, which can act as a stand alone movie, in which case I have not much to complain, I really have no complaints against Mission: Impossible franchise. Not even from III, which was although a low point in the franchise, but it did feel like a Mission: Impossible franchise movie. Anyway, Mission: Impossible is the only franchise in Hollywood which I fully expect to be not woke. It is said that this is the last installment of Mission: Impossible franchise. And if it is so I fully expect a straight and grand goodbye to Ethan Hunt, and not being replaced by a 'strong, better, superior, female character', or by any character for that matter.
Not a great trailer. So many quick cuts of pointless scenes. Im still hyped for the movie. Only bit i liked from the trailer was the monologue at the start.
The way the MI theme subtly sneaks into the score as the actions cranks up is *so* cool.
