When I was young in the 1950s i saw Ray Charles sing this at the Frolics Ballroom in Allentown,Pa and to think I also saw Fats Domino,Jerry Lee Lewis,Little Richard and others before i was drafted into the Army and was with Elvis Presley in Fort Hood,TX and Germany.
No auto-tune on Erika's voice or any processing at all on the instruments. Just pure musical talent from the entire band who knows how to use dynamics. Music is made to move air... an analog guy here living in a digital world - but that digital world gives us the ability to hear them...
@@cguzelli1 Totally agree with you. Nothing to add except the fact that music is not only made to move air but also the sentiments of people. Great American cultural heritage. Greetings from Europe.
Me too! Better yet, sit there all day listening to them jam, also enjoying some "old no. 7" & a couple of good cigars. Maybe even sit with them on piano if they play somewhere in the evenings. Could life be any better?
Just brilliant... I'd have stayed all day. ........ 2 years ago I was in Sacramento just north of City Center and I was heading for an evening meal and heard this same jazz sound ..headed over and found Der Biergarten.....they played this music [10 of them] all night.......Heaven
Good ol Brother Ray would be tickled if he could hear this! I've never heard a ragtime-Dixieland jazz group before that was so much fun! I sat through the whole song, just grinning from one ear to the other! So glad I got to hear these folks. Ireally dig their takes on other old established classics.
Been about a month since I discovered Tuba Skinney on RUclips. Listen to them every day now. Did not realize they had been around as long as they had. Keep it up, you sound great!
I'm Brazilian, the country of the Samba, but I would be able to pull a chair, sit down, and listen to Jazz for a long and long time !! The style that best reminds us of the roots of the USA. Wonderful!!
I played this music in the mid 70s to mid 80s Jersey shore and Philly area. Now live in Hawaii and if anyone from here sees this post to me as I want to start a band like this here in the islands! It will be a hit.. Nothing like it here! Aloha!
They are so good. They are the best. Love this band forever. I wish I could be there to enjoy them live. Why sometimes there are more musicians in the band, and other times there are less?
After ten days in NOLA, and un three of yours presentación, I think You are the most beautifull woman musician that I ever meet un my live. You well deserve "Blue Cotton Rag"
It always amazing to me as to how people just walk past - as if nothing is happening at all. I sometimes feel sorry for people who cannot feel ( inwardly resonate) the delightful vibration of a jaunty , danceable rhythm . "Dead souls?" - yes - many of them.
Thank you for great epic video. Still 2021 they are the best jazz music, thanks camera person too. Keep smiling with lol politely & safely jazz it with ♡ Tuba skinny
Look"I say look at that Gazelle,, Erica lewis is a wild raw, mean, moody, big and bouncy magnificent talent" like these Exquisite musicians, ahh man what a class act
It is very good and joy full, optimistic melody. They play the melody exellent, when hear the melody so and want to dance for the melody. I am astonish why people go by and Don, t dancing.
Man, if you aren't feeling uplifted after listening to Tuba Skinny, you have too many troubles. Magical stuff.

Watching again after years. Still great!
You just never get tired of this music. Watch each one as they do their magic.
On top of her game here. Driving it with her impeccable voice and charisma.
I just love this band and special love for the gal on the trumpet, she just speaks to my heart...
Cornet!
She's Al Cohn's granddaughter
@1946nimrod 🎯
I'm addicted to this group
ME TOO
I'm from Mexico... I don't know how I found them, but I'm glad.
So am I! Listen to them on You Tube every time I get a few spare moments!
So many people with fine taste in music Derek Bravo!
Ditto...
As much as I like to hear Erika sing those blues, I like to watch her animation on the drum.
Yeah, right! 😉..😁 ( trumpet sounds REAL good, too)
The drum containing spare underwear!
@@1946nimrod nice catch 😉
@@1946nimrod it's a towel to dampen the sound
Towel it is.
Ericka makes it come to life. She's so cool.
Erika is just a plain and simple beauty without 9,000lbs of makeup, she does'nt need it!
Yes, Ray, plain & simple words say it all. A fine country girl
Girl has the pipes. In my eyes she is just plain gorgeous.
Tuba Skinny is the BOMB!!!
Best damn thing since snuff

Roy Orbison also
@@royhammond9670 Yes,Roy was very good!
They are on my top ten bucket list. I could sit and listen to them all day. I don't understand why the streets aren't blocked with people.
Because they do not appreciate good music. They are there to eat and drink.
that's one hell of a clarinet player and the band excellent as always.
It's actually James Evans, of England, now a NOLA resident - damn good.
@@87sailorgirl he is from Wales actually.😄
This has long been my favorite Tuba Skinny. Erika - ohhhh my!
Beautiful rendition, lots of fine talent in your band!
Tuba Skinny needs their own RUclips channel and their own videographer.
IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN WHEN EVERYBODY GETS TO SHINE, LOVE IT.
No microphones, no amplifiers - simply talent ! GREAT !

me 2. i am going to new orleans just to grove on some jazz. i am a jazz head. i remember the beatles in 1964. this music is intoxicating
listen And dance
Yeah! You're absolutely right. Most people don't seem to appreciate this. Wish I could stop and listen and stay there as long as they play ...
Wish I could be there for just one day and enjoy it all...
Good God--These folks really know their stuff. There's bogus "Dixieland Jazz" everywhere, but this group is historically authentic and alive.
They have that old backyard 20's jazz feel if you know what I mean..I love it! It shows when you know your roots.
It's the genre/style not vintage. @Buster Friendly
Guitar Charlie Ouachita Parish Louisiana 6pieces sure sounds good.
Эрика всегда хороша, как никогда!
@@shurshot2764 But not bad no-the-less.
