  • Join us as we explore Stockholm’s iconic Gamla Stan, the Old Town! This area dates back to the 13th century but most buildings are from the 1600s and 1700s.
We start out in Stortorget, the main square. All the main attractions lead from it, including the baroque style Royal Palace (Kungliga Slottet) and The Royal Chapel (Storkyrkan) around the corner, where Crown Princess Victoria married Daniel Westling in June 2010.
Walking through it, you’d never believe it was once considered a slum. Today about 3000 people live in Gamla Stan. You’ll find various cafes and restaurants, along with plenty of shops.
There are some quirky landmarks like the Rikstelefon, and old school telephone booth that draws many to take pictures by it. We also check out Stockholm’s narrowest street: Mårten Trotzigs gränd. Go early to avoid the crowds.
What a fun day exploring the cities cobbled streets, alleyways, and cool architecture!
