she's extremely intelligent and mentally strong too. girl literally prevented a bomb from blasting on her own. when we saw a glimpse of her backstory, it's was implicated that she was being kept as an experiment by people who discovered she has telepathy powers, she does a pretty good job not letting her past get a hold of her.

those people didn't "discover" her telepathy, she's a human experiment by the East like Mr. Bond the doggo
She got those telepathic powers bcoz of the experiments Dah!!!
I just assumed she was like 11 in Stranger things.
Also worth mentioning Anya has literal trauma when it comes to studying due to the tests that were performed on her before she came to the orphanage, which is why she hates it so much, but despite her trauma she tries to overcome it so she can improve her academics and help Loid with his mission. What other 4/5 year old would work that hard through something she hates that much at such a high level.
Exactly 👍
Aside from that, even if she has psychic abilities. She has a good capability of understanding, observing the situation and making a sort of ok solution for a 5 years old while reading others minds.
remember drowning child she tried to saved him without any second thought.
@@Ms.YoOnGiTaNgArInEshe actually tried to get help, but since nobody would trust her and she knew it might already be too late, she risked her life
@@Ms.YoOnGiTaNgArInEHer thought process in that scene was "Kid's drowning, need adult. What to tell adult? Kid's drowning, need help. How know? Psychic.... Nah, save alone." So yeah, she's smart enough to know adults wouldn't believe her. Or at the very least, doesn't want her powers outed.
@@kusanagi-no-tachi5303 right
exactly! Maybe she learns to understands people and situations too early bcz of her past with scientists and all the experiments
I think that's how she got out of there
The very fact that shes that young and knows to keep her mouth shut when she hears adults’ thoughts is already an indicator that shes mad smart for 4 year old
No. She keeps her thoughts to herself because Loid and Yor are not her first adoptive parents.
Previous adoptive parents were freaked out by her gift, and she's under the impression that simply reading minds is going to cause people to abandon her.
It's not about her intelligence, but her trauma.

@@sirthisisawendys811 yes
@@sirthisisawendys811 LMAO
Kirby is stronger
What I think makes Anya such a great character is that she isn’t just a smart child, but one that actually acts like a child. This makes it nearly impossible for those around her to really assume that she’s got any kind of power. Also, the fact that’s she’s able to blend in so well with her peers, despite being a year or two behind them, amazes me. She’s got everyone fooled lol😂
Academic skills aside, Anya is actually really REALLY smart. Like in season one before the Eden interview, when she, Loid and Yor go out to spend some time as a family, there's a pickpocket on the street and Anya notices him immediately with her telepathy, but of course she can't say that to her parents. So she points at a cake shop (that's where the pickpocket was passing by) and gets Loid to notice him. Or even that time she saved that one kid from drowning in a swimming pool in season two. Anya has helped out her parents and other people so many times without them knowing and she deserves so much love and appreciation for that
Did you forget the part where she end up drowning too?
@@kittenmimi5326 of course i remember, but that's not what i was talking about. i just wanted to mention that she used her intelligence and quick wit to help someone in need without making it look suspicious to the people around her
@@sahana4498 she uses her telepathy and if anyone hear a person screaming help normally they would try to help so idk how that reflects quick wit or intelligence especially since she cannot devise any plan and just jumped in and drown
@@kittenmimi5326 Cuz she knew that Loid and more people were watching lmao, she jumped so someone else would jump too, she couldn't tell them what was happening, that's very intelligent to me.
@@kittenmimi5326 the kid that was drowning was so deep in the water that nobody could hear his screams. anya was only able to detect him because she read his mind. how do you think she would have explained that to loid or the others around? nobody would've believed her. she made things as non-suspicious as she could, and still saved the kid. it's intelligent because she did it without revealing her powers to loid or others
it's not just academically, despite having psychic powers that users are normally depicted to struggle with, anya at four years old has been able to apply them to successfully manipulate situations
e.g. not just knowing loid and yor are a spy an assassin, but also directing them to help her, each other and their mission
i love this series
also something you forgot to mention, the way Anya uses her powers to make situations better like how she made Yor become loids wife
She has really good problem solving skills, which only will advance with someone like Loid as a parent
@@volktol4432 thats a really nice way to say shes very innocently manipulative
@@boof6950 bruv, in their cold war time period where there's assassins and spies everywhere, her being "innocently manipulative" is completely valid
@@LU-37 I never said being manipulative is a bad thing. People unknowingly use manipulation tactics even now, I'm just pointing out that that's what she's doing
@@LU-37 some people are so quick to jump on others just because something they said has a slightly negative connotation
And even if she wasn’t pretty intelligent for her age, no one can deny that she’s very emotionally intelligent
I mean she has emotional intelligence hacks
Extremely extreme
She already knows how to spell words just by reading Twilight's mind on the crossword puzzle.
WOWWW
I'm glad I'm not the only one who remembers that!
Yea but that words are HARD! And she spells it so this is correct
Yeh I always wondered how she was able to spell the words correctly on the crossword, even if she was reading his mind. But I guess if he visualized the words in his mind then maybe that’s how she did it…
The thing about Anyas intelligence at that age (that i personally like) is that it doesn’t feel absurd that she’s able to do these things - due to her always having to study when she was being experimented on
I mean. She got served the Pythagoras Theorem on her second day.
Also Anya having trauma from being forced to learn while she was experimented on:
Also also her mind reading probably distracting her during class:
Make sense
People who called anya annoying/stupid or useless must forgot she's like...idk FIVE?
@@Dr_Baizhu she's actually only four, she said she was six so Loid would adopt her
@@Frovael yeah2 close enough. At that age i still play with dolls and stick with my mom 24h
@@Dr_Baizhu I mean 5 yr olds are generally annoying but cute..
Actually in the beginning when Anya was doing the crossword puzzle when she was reading Loids mind he was saying really difficult words he wasn't spelling them out though but Anya spelled them perfectly and they fit in each box meaning she a prodigy in spelling
Not to mention these kids are learning friggin trigonometry at 6 years old...
And then fractions in the next lesson, that schooling system is wild over there
My first school used to be like that
University level of subjects
Bruh I can't understand trig NOW wtf
Basic trigonometry only relies on identifying what sides are opposite an angle and then identifying the matching fraction/ratio. As a math teacher I know it is actually basic and if taught right could be taught to younger students if they were engaged.
People usually over complicate maths.
@@Gacha_Nazrinofficial She is in private and you are not?
How cruel this world
Bear in mind, Anya is also doing all this WHILE juggling her mind reading abilities and her parents’ secrets. She is the only one who knows exactly what is going on at all times with both Loid and Yor and everyone around them, yet she has to constantly try and keep up the facade that she has no idea while trying to help (because she’s sweet like that).
So NOT ONLY is she much younger than her peers at Eden, she’s also juggling a lot of extra emotional responsibility most of them haven’t even considered yet, which uses even more brain power (think of how tired you get when you’re stressed about something someone you love is going through-now imagine that *all of the time*).
No wonder she struggles in class initially-she’s trying to focus on so many things it’s a miracle her grades *do* improve!
Maybe that's why she thinks of snacking on peanuts all the time. During quiz bowl, I get hungry in between matches because I have to make sure I don't miss part of the question while simultaneously racking my brain to see if I know it as fast as I can.
Well THAT'S a given. See was raised by scientists until she managed to escape them. The fact that basically a toddler ESCAPED from a research facility shows how smart she is, not counting the fact she was probably reading their minds to figure out when and how to escape. They were probably forcing her to study high school and college level things skipping OVER the elementary stuff. She learned the advanced version without the basics. Now she's learning the basics of things she should have learned at her age. Like how she doesn't know how to tell time but she was probably taught how to estimate the time. Not only that but we don't know what her first language is or where her 1st orphanage was or if she's even in the same country she escaped the scientist from. There's a lot of information missing with her backstory.
I thought she somehow saved by a spy and placed in the orphanage that's why she knew what a spy or even assassin is and why she obsessed with spy
@@rifamulya2185 If she was Twilight would have never adopted her because they would have put her with a family they could keep an eye on & watch her to try and get her to join them once she was of age. That spy show she loves is probably the first cartoon she ever watched when she escaped and it became her favorite by default.
I think the project that experiments on her were cancelled and pretty much made all the children dumped into orphanages. She's not the only one one consider Bond as well(Clairvoyant Dog).
And also, on some chapters in manga, Loid pointed out that she could perfect the one test if it wasn't her wrong spellings. So, she's basically advanced than any kid two years from her age.
@@justanotherperson7820 Well whose to say that this language she's currently use is her first, it could be her 2nd or more language and she's still trying to get the hang of it.
2 years? Those are children of the rich elites, they're educated almost their entire lives, and have had a stable home. Given that Anya was adopted and taken back to the orphanage, it's not likely that she received much education. She wasn't living in the best conditions, being taken care of or treated properly, the fact she passed the entrance exams and has been participating in class without getting expelled is outstanding
Let's be realistic. Toddlers speak around the age of 2-3 years old. These kids are 6 by now and haven't really lived that long. So an average of 2-3 years of studying before enrolling at Eden is not a stretch. Even for geniuses, how much studying can a 2-3 year old really take? It's just funny when you said they've been studying all their lives 😆 as if they've been tutored since birth.
@@Martin-yh7viSome people do get tutored at a young age

I did realize this as I watched it, since Anya purposefully lied about her age to Lloyd so he would adopt her, when he surmised that she was closer to four years old rather than the age he needed... It's really impressive that Anya is doing this well at her age and considering her circumstances...
Also from the first episode, even if she reads Loid's mind to get the answers I think she also nailed the spelling of those words.
If Anya becomes a spy as an adult, she could surpass her parents
@tiffanygirl5717 With her ability to read minds and her obsession with spies plus both her parents' abilities, Anya could surpass her parents as an adult. Even if she never kills anyone like Her parents do
Anypne would inmideatly hire Anya for spying, she just has to pass nerby someone to read their mind and complete the job
@ElpepeEtesech-bl3hl exactly my point. She also doesn't need to do anything dangerous since she can just read their minds as passer-by
The Forger family could be the ultimate spy/security agency. Loid and Anya doing the snoop/spy stuff and Yor as security with her stabby things (Anya's words) All dressed up as a regular family.
@@jimspock those trio will be unstoppable if they just choose to be honest with each other. Their goal is the same anyway which is peace
Anya couldn't even use her powers to cheat if she wanted to. Because it's revealed at the Entrance exam that everyone else has no idea what they are doing.
she memorized the exam questions
But the people who got in do.
I always thought of Anya as more street smart then book smart
Im actually 4 when I started grade school and man, I was the same as Anya, though I have the ability to study, I hate it and my mind is too preoccupied.
It kinda change later on in 2nd grade. Tho Im still a troublemaker, I finally adjusted and can par to my classmates.
Its only a matter of time before Anya finally reach her potential. She'll earn more Stella as she grows.
i agree, her situational comprehension and how she solve these problems is pretty high

😏
Anya is very bright for her age. She can gauge situations and make solutions to them. She helped Loid many times throughout the manga without revealing her power too.✨
Starlight Anya, keep reaching for the stars.
We all forget she's only 5 exposed to how assassins work, how spies work, how the government works, and how prodigies think and what the future foretells.
Imagine her being 20...
The world ain't ready for that powerhouse
If I remember she did try to use her powers once but was quickly overwhelmed cause everyone was panicking 😂
I am happy someone else noted this i noticed it pretty quickly also not to mention she has the making of a real spy with how she acts and handles situations to a degree
I will never forget when she stopped a bomb from exploding and saved her father's life by simply writing a message to them saying not to open the door and she's literally still a child
There was also that scene in the manga where Loid sees one of Anya's exam papers and realizes that she only did poorly because of spelling errors, but it actually seemed like she understood the ancient language roots, possibly hinting to her being familiar with it before she was taken.
She was also able to full remember everything lloyd answered on the crossword
I think this is because when we get the scene when she was in the lab and we hear them say “ it’s time to study “ and from how many families have tried to adopt her but return she’s been at that orphanage for a LONG TIME so she was probably way younger in that flashback sooo yeah she was taught for years so yeah,
She's not dumb just lazy (like what a kid is realistically, and she isn't unbelievably gifted also she is kinda just realistically smart tbh) because before eden academy everything is a piece of cake to cheese with her powers, so she never need to try harder than that. And she also use to avoid studying because it reminds her of the time she is forced to study by the people who experimented on her
Lmao
Others: anya is so intelligent!
Me: so yor's knife can be used in that way too.
Not to mention, if she can control her telepathic abilities better overtime, she can rise even higher than the top students.
My husband and I just had this discussion, it is very interesting that outside of her powers she is rather smart, most likely because of her powers, continuously hearing adult stuff had to have developed her understanding skills, it’s like if someone read to you all the time about everything. And it also goes with the fact that genius’s are created.
I think she had some form of schooling
Yeah, by those evil scientists experimenting on her. I still remember that flashback 📸 scene in the starting of the anime where Little Anya is shown being forced to study instead of playing or drawing by those jerks
She was forced to study constantly by the scientists
My friend and I actually talked about this and how Anya never had any clear age given, but Loid suspected that she was roughly 4-5 years old when they met. And we talked about how Anya is behind everyone else but is still actually doing as well as she is.
we need more yuri and anya training montages
Not to mention she's done a great job concealing/hiding her powers up until now even with Loid (aka one of the greatest spies in the whole world)
Even though she's not good in her grades, she's very clever.
I keep thinking about the possible ending of the story when everyone finally be honest with the secrets and such but truly what will happen if loid found out about anya history and what gonna happen to their relationship after the mission ends
On the very first star of spy family Anya does the writing thing in the newspaper and reads Lloyd’s mine, and then write down what he says. I’ve never met a four or five year old that could do that.
Another reason why she gets low grades is because it's hard for her to control her powers so sometimes when she's taking a practice test she hears all these voices and probably a lot of negative things, and it overwhelms her quite a bit, and yet she still passes. Well done Anya.
Anya smarter than me since she can read minds 💀
Anya was tutored while in the facility. And she seems to have an aversion to it now that she’s out. Also, I highly suspect that part of her problems taking tests is that the room around her is noisy and filled with everyone thinking all at once-as evidenced by how much better she did on the day she couldn’t read minds. Plus what was pointed out, she’s younger than the other students and at that age it’s a huge difference in general
Not just that, she’s being taught by Loid and Yor, plus her telepathy, she is going to be unironically an insanely intelligent and physically powerful individual. Anya solos the multiverse.
This is all the more proven from that one episode where writes the message on the door to prompt the bomb diffusion.... Not only did she refrained from diffusing it herself ( which would have been disastrous ) but she also managed to warn them most effectively as was possible within her power
Anya's gifted she saved the world in episode 11-12
I want a chapter in which we can see anya's backstory and know more about it
I'm waiting for the day she can smirk as she shows 2nd son how she got a better grade then him in ANY class
There is one topic she is better at, though it’s only in the manga. If only Anya improved on her grammar she will have something that she is better than Damian at.
My twins started school over because of their b-day. They turned 5 in preschool whereas everyone else turned or is turning 6. They are out performing some of their classmates. I'm not sure how many or whatever but they are in the % for all the subjects covered. Their teachers aren't worried about them starting 1st grade next year. Makes me so proud.

I was about to comment about it. It's an.... interesting choice to be sure.
Dont call her Anya, she is Starlight Anya
Once anya grows up and matures her powers will be so powerful and useful
I do think that Anya has a lot of potential and she is trying but I wouldn't put it past her if she's still trying to use her powers to cheat 😂 but I also think that's one of the way she learns she picks up things from the people around her and she tends to remember a lot of it
Yor's weapons became a chopsticks
I’m always impressed by how quickly she’s able to adapt to the situation and react, literally 1 SEC after hearing someone’s thought. And the ep in season 2 where she made a literal bomb in ten seconds, 2 traps and was careful enough to hide her face and name
Our Starlight Anya❤
Remember that trap she made in secret mission 2
"No Formal education"
Anya's Flashback to scientists:
"Time to study Anya."
(I guess he forgot about that part.)
Technically, we don't know her actual age. But her introduction does imply that she lied about it so she could be adopted.
She'll definitely be a great spy/ assassin in the future
Sooner or later the parents will take her under their wing and with her mind reading ability, she'll be an overpowered character when she grows up
I now have to go rewatch spyxfamily
That doki doki ost in background is killing me 💀
When a 5 year old is smarter than you💀
This is exactly my thoughts! thank you! baby gurl is so clever 🥺
I think in the anime they say that she is 6 years old
Anya herself says this, because she knows loid is needing a 6 yr old for the mission and she wants to be a part of it, loid himself says that she looks a little younger than 6, so its pretty implied that shes not actually 6
@@roy_theruler8132 oh ok
I thought I was even wrong
Yeah, Anya lies about her age cause she wants to desperately get adopted by loid. Actually she's much younger.
Even, loid thought so in his mind when he first saw her, he analysed that Anya couldn't be six, she looks 4 yrs old 🗝️...or.. 5 years at most.
I think this is enough of a hint from the writer/director of this anime itself that signifies Anya's exact age.
P.S. : She is just too cute for my heart 💓 but she's strangely weird too
