    1:25 tutorial starts, thumbs up if you want people to save a minute.

      Fair comment - the only thing I would say is that life would be very dull without some chit-chat! And yes, if you just want to see the trick, 1:25 is about right :)

    Works like a charm mate. I got 2 Asus OLED PG27AQDM monitors with the Black Friday weeks and I am stunned with the quality of the screens. Now I can use this 'trick' in PhotoShop also. Thanks for tipping us!

      Can't answer that for you (though I can say I use it every day and really wish that Adobe would give me a 2nd-monitor option in Photoshop just as in Lightroom Classic!)

  • @photographer3597

    Navigator trick's is damn awesome. Thanks mate.
    Edit: If only there was a way to disable the viewbox frame. Having to zoomout to see the entire image without the stupix box is not ideal.
    Edit 2: Unfortunately, having navigator enlarged makes Photoshop pretty much unusable because it drops to few frames per second. Which is also evident in your video. Back to the old trick with two windows for me it is :(

    • @PaulXWilkinson_MPP
      @PaulXWilkinson_MPP  2 года назад

      I know what you mean - I solved the lag by getting a faster machine (which is not really a solution except that it worked!). As for the bounding box it doesn't worry me too much - I change the colour so it's grey and that makes it less distracting. I just **wish** Adobe would give us a second screen as they have in Lightroom. Seems like a random thing to not have!

    I hate that Adobe decided to turn off that video-out option. Back in PS 7, I believe it had an actual reference out from the file menu which was super super helpful. Wish it had something like Premiere where you can transmit video out enabling "mercury transmit". Anyways awesome video super helpful thank you!!!

    When I create a new work space, the image that I drag to the second monitor appears for a moment, then all I have is a blank work space. CS6 The navigator works, but it won't let me change the ratio of the image.

    • @PaulXWilkinson_MPP
      @PaulXWilkinson_MPP  Год назад

      I am not quite sure what you mean - it should be the Navigator Panel you drag to the second window? Is that not working?

      Sorry for the late reply - been an odd year! I use a fantastic bit of software called SwitchResX (easy to Google) that allows much better control of monitor resolutions and mirroring options. Hope that helps!

    But is it a real image or a preview. I need the perfect colours in second monitor

    • @PaulXWilkinson_MPP
      @PaulXWilkinson_MPP  2 года назад

      That is a great question! from the tests I've done (I obviously can't view their code!) the colours are spot on but the sharpness isn't - it feels like a sharpened preview to me. But I have always loved having a second view while I'm working in detail so it isn't too much of a problem (If I want a 100% accurate second window, I open a duplicate window of the file - slower to do and I always forget to close BOTH windows but it works.)

  • @PabloCubarle
    @PabloCubarle 2 года назад

    the only problem with this is that it makes zooming very laggy :/ I have used this for a long time but can't stand the lag anymore. any suggestion? thanks!

    • @PaulXWilkinson_MPP
      @PaulXWilkinson_MPP  2 года назад +1

      I know what you mean - my machine eventually became laggy but it was due for an upgrade anyway. New iMac has solved the lag - at least for now. Wish Adobe would solve the problem properly and give us a second monitor!

    • @PabloCubarle
      @PabloCubarle 2 года назад +1

      @@PaulXWilkinson_MPP in fact after seen your video I started using the new window option. it works perfectly. yes, its a pain to do it everything but I rather have that than the lag :) plus I made a shortcut for the new window so it's no so bad. thanks for the video!

    • @PaulXWilkinson_MPP
      @PaulXWilkinson_MPP  2 года назад

      @@PabloCubarle at the moment I am lucky that I am not seeing any lag - give it a couple of years and I'm sure it'll return as the software asks for more and more hardware!!!
      In the meantime, though, it's still works well for me!

  • @Joffhope

    Awesome! Now how do i flip the second monitor image 90 degrees because i do alot of portrait editing ?

    • @PaulXWilkinson_MPP
      @PaulXWilkinson_MPP  Год назад

      I have a bit of software on the Mac called SwitchresX that allows me to rotate any display (as well as a lot of other incredibly useful settings!)

    • @transparent1054
      @transparent1054 10 месяцев назад

      If you're using Windows, there's a freeware called "iRotate" that makes this chore easily done with shortcut keys according to which monitor you want changed. I'd also save your Photoshop workspace(s) with the second window configured to reflect portrait and landscape. I have this exact setup as described.
