While I've dabbled in Necrot over their last two albums, I've never really held them in my highest musical regard. But Lifeless Birth is amazing. Easily their best album IMO. I was a bit let down by the latest Witch Vomit, which kinda droves on without getting anywhere special, so this was a very nice surprise.
Love the new Necrot--just a solid plug of death metal goodness. I also really connected with Mortal. I would constantly get guitar riffs stuck in my head. Absolutely agree about the time flying comment, I listened to it twice through the first time without even realizing. More death metal is a good thing.
Drill The Skull is the best song this band has ever written because of its instant memorability. I think in the future Necrot need to focus on memorable songwriting rather than just blurs.
Necrot's earworm riffs really stick in your head and to me cotinues to set them apart, even if the riff is just rotten corpse knuckle dragging. get yer meat n potatoes!
Very good review. I feel like the new Traveler and Necrot records are similar in just being great, fun, sure value records. I'm looking forward to more Blayne reviews in a bit ;)

I saw necrot with we Municipal waste on 2/23/2024 @ the magic stick in Detroit Michigan and got kicked in head by the singer gurist and Apologized after the for kicking me the head
This is my favorite death metal release so far this year. I wonder when the new Deicide album comes out next week if Blayne will call Glen Benton the Ted Nugent of death metal again. I wonder if Blayne would ever call him that to his face. My guess is that Blayne would be too busy bowing and saying “I’m not worthy.”
Glen Benton is the Kerry King of death metal; he’s been writing the same hackneyed, boring ‘Ooh, I’m so evil and Jesus is stupid’ garbage for _way_ too long.
Horrified and Dipygus are really good too, probably my top two DM. Then Necrot, then Skeletal Remains and Witch Vomit, but still all good. But yeah this year has a lot of good DM, but not much great. Nothing "new".
I'm more of a Thrash guy, but Necrot is making me a Death Metal fan. All of their albums are awesome. Sonny Reinhardt has another band called Vorlust which has a similar sound to Necrot and is awesome as well. Great live shows.

Was Labrynth just considered an EP? It's 32 minutes long, basically an LP. I'm a huge Necrot fan, love the sound and I'm a total sucker for traditional epic soloing. Love it.
I'm new to these "Review" type videos but I'm just curious if I'm the only one that doesn't get too stoked on Solos? I realize they require immense talent but I get more stoked for crushing verses that don't let up and fun riffs. Am I the only one?

my band played with these guy a few months ago with GHOUL, and they FUCKING crushed it. PURE DEATH METAL.

I disagree about the identity crisis thing. Necrot sounds extremely unique and recognizable without stepping out of the old school lane.
