Great Mods, simple but very effective. I always had intention to do something with the dash using fibre optics, but looking at your end results has given me confidence to keep it simple. I've made my own small circuit for the voicebox so that it simply jacks into the actual speaker so doesn't pick up outside noise, but like the idea of a switch to disable it. Many thanks.
@adamskyj69 Thankyou👍 I was also originally thinking about fibre optics and some different leds, but after trying out this much simpler version I'm more than happy with the end result.
This is fantastic work, I have this model kitt in my stash along with some electronic gadgets I bought for the backlighting I guess it's time get building huge thanks for the reinspiration 👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
Awesome work mate well done. I'm very interested to the same improvement because i do the same build. Haven't start anything. I will collect the pieces first because the truth is that many things have to be trimmed and changed as well. The same details i had to check when i finished the Hachette Lancia Integrale 1/8,(less electronic of course) but there were many modelistic works do be done.
another way to get a better back lit effect is to draw up the art in a vector art program and have negative film output made. it has much darker density and will look far more realistic. Its the same film negative that is used for print production and platemaking. at that point you can hand color the areas as you like with transparent film, tape sharpie whatever. An 8x10 sheet would cost about 15-25 dollars USD. maybe scan the original parts and recreate them in a drawing program. I do this for watch dials and photo engraving.
I discovered this too late. Fanhome has discontinued the KITT subscription. Now I have to win the lottery and hopefully buy a completed version from eBay one day.
Hello, We like your arrangement, we have ready on-board devices, but please the exact designation of the sound module and where exactly to connect the module on the board from DeA. Thank you Peter
I just finished #10 on my K.I.T.T build would love to do the same thing to mine like what you did to yours but dont have the knowledge to do it.any more tips
@Jeremy Neff, the main thing to help improve it is to diffuse the light hitting the back of the screens so if you don't want to change the position of the leds you could still paint the inside of the boxes silver or white and maybe put something over the front of the led to reduce the bright spot like some plastic cut from a plastic milk bottle or other opaque plastic and adding the additional colour with felt tips to the front of the displays will also help. Hope that's of some help to you👍
@Thomas Webber Thankyou! If you prefer you could try black tape cut into small strips or even without any blacking out the other mods will still make a big improvement👍
@mark K, I got mine from amazon, its actually a screwdriver that comes with 1/8 hex screwdriver bits,to convert it to a drill I used a 1/4 hex chuck from ebay (1/8 hex chucks simply don't seem to exist!) I filed the chucks shaft down until it fitted snugly into the screwdriver and then you have a choice of using it as a precision drill or use the original screwdriver bits as required. Thankyou, yeh its not great is it,improving lighting is one thing but the sound effects your pretty much stuck with even a different speaker didn't help. Mind you wait till you hear the so called engine noise... now that's truly awful ! Listened to it once and its just a screeching noise thats supposed to be the turbine engine sound so I will never use it again...still that's the way with a lot of partworks these days.

You Did An Awful job 🙄
I watched Joe from Knight Rider Historians as he was building his. His advantage to building this model is that he has the full scale as a reference 😎
That's incredible! Absolutely amazing. The amount of work people put into these projects are truly an act of passion.
Thankyou very much!👍

Thanks again for sharing the mods you've come up with. I plan in implementing many of these in one way or another.

They do pop up from time to time so you may be lucky.

Damn...I wish I had your skills & abilities
Positioning the LED on the side is brilliant. But I wonder if using some cotton on the back would act as a defuser with same/similar results?
Thanks, yes cotton may well work,,anything that diffuses the light will help improve the look of the displays.
BRAVOO!!
Awesome
Thankyou!
Did you use the green and red markers from the front or the back of the dials?
I used the green and red markers on the front of the dials👍
@@DHDSCALEMODELS superstar!
Cool 😎 ❤
Thanks!👍
0:14 this red blinking speakmodul is this original or fanmade ?

Will you do any of these modifications for others if paid
Cool
Thanks!
Very impressive! I am afraid to take a black marker to the back -- one mistake and the panel is ruined.
@Thomas Webber Thankyou!
If you prefer you could try black tape cut into small strips or even without any blacking out the other mods will still make a big improvement👍
With the felt tips to add colour, is it a case of simply drawing on the front of the displays given?
@Jaxon's Jerseys Yes that's all i did, just very carefully !
Makes all the difference tho👍
Like the drill any links were to buy in uk thanks

@@DHDSCALEMODELS thanks for the information
The colour, red and green......do you colour the back of the parts or the front?
I coloured the front of the parts for the red and green👍
@@DHDSCALEMODELS Great, can you please link the pencil you did use for this? Was it a fineliner, or very thin edding?
They were just fine tipped sharpies but any felt tipped pen will work.
How big are the holes you make in the sides ? Great mod !
Thankyou! They are 3 mm holes for the leds👍
@@DHDSCALEMODELS Thanks!
Can you help me to do this
Are you an electrical engineer?
