@matsteadyy1053 What is your point ? Chinese from Vietnam, especially the ones who immigrated to Quebec, Canada from Vietnam , they all speak 4, 5 languages..
This is a really cool video. I know this is supposed to be generalizations, so I want to add some clarifications: the westernized Chinese guy will vary a lot depending on where in the US (or other western country) they grew up. For example, if they grew up in Los Angeles and were exposed to more of an Asian influence and population, they wouldn’t behave and think the same from someone from rural Kentucky where they had to assimilate to western culture more. Both will be westernized, just in different ways. I have a lot of Chinese American male friends and none of them act like the guy in this video, but I’m sure they exist somewhere. Mainland was very accurate xD good video overall!
Pragy30 I know, but the Chinese person in this video is using an American accent so I was using the US as an example. I edited it to include other western countries but the point remains the same.
I don't know why but french chinese don't act like mainlander chinese at all, sometimes they seem to know the rules so well that for me they're like hundred generations to internalize the french culture but it is so natural for them even if they just arrived 3 years before 😕😂

Funny video! I'm an Australian born Chinese and act more Australian / Western socially but I have a mixture of Western and Eastern values - I like to think I have the best of both worlds :)
Does anyone else think that Chinese sounds sexy? I was loving hearing it the times he spoke it. Btw, that statement is coming from a person who used to think Chinese was annoying. Oh Lord, how I have changed!
they do enjoying their life, trust me. They travel a lot, shopping, buy lot of beautiful properties, playing golf, drinking and socializing. It just they only comfortable socializing with the people who speak chinese. Oh yeah some of them really love to gamble
Currently dating a mainlander and I can say that everything shown in this video is 101%. Mainlander are "nice" type Of guy but sometimes they may also be boring cz everything is about money practicality wise they're "Husband/Boyfriend material" but they wont be able to have time to talk to you nor date you coz they work a lot, they spent most of their time working for 12-16hrs a day.
The mainland Chinese guy seemed way more attractive to me. They depicted the Western Chinese guy as kind of lazy and immature, with no goals or ambition.
Spoiler alert: Most women don't want a guy who plays video games and watches Netflix all day. It's a really unattractive trait to women, unless they're gamers themselves. Isn't that common knowledge?

As a fellow businesswoman, I appreciate a guy's ambition, but if he "makes a lot of money" for fun, it seems like he's married to his job, and I don't want that. A guy needs to be both fun-loving and ambitious in moderation.
Hahahaha it’s so true! I’ve dated mostly the mainlander Chinese guys and so far at the beginning is so weird, one guy asked me about when I want to get married, I ran away at the same instant haha
Because Chinese men find girlfriends on the premise of getting married, not for the sake of having sex. I'm really glad you left those mainland men, and there are fewer men in the world who have been emotionally hurt since then. It's true that people like you are not worth the emotional effort.
woooo!!! finally!!! I had soooo much fun watching the video and YES, it's absolutly like that. My ex chinese boyfriend had a western outside but inside... he was a mainlander. I had exactly the same experiences at the restaurants so many times, and I still remember the night (when were dating for 3 months), that he invited me to dinner out and he told me that he already had organized our wedding. He had the restaurant, the menu and the travel for our honey moon. And he even had planned to change his house because he wanted a garden for our son!!! That was the reason of our breaking off. I felt so so so stressed and i couldnt eat. Congratulations for the video!!! it was very funny.

I think it is a bit of economic situation as well - the first gen. immigration usually had to work hard to stay, where as the 2nd gen. has the luxury to enjoy life a bit more.
It was subtle about several differences, which is better than other ones that go to extremes from the start. Hopefully both sides can view this and give their opinions of this, but I think people could do well to have aspects of both groups
Hahahahahaha!!! That was great! I think I prefer the mainlander Chinese gentleman, since I am a conservative, Hispanic woman. That's the perfect man for me.
Great video. Please do American woman. Your video on the Irish Man was spot on lol my bf is from and lives in Ireland 😍 the Canada Woman is very similar. Love your channel! Here's to breaking boundaries!
My boyfriend is a Mainlander who moved here to the U.S. and is very similar to the Mainlander in this video. Even his family is very similar. I love it. XD
I like both! I’m watching videos of how to date Chinese men and this helped a little. Do the women have to make a lot of money to impress the guys parents or even the guy?
Loving this one !! And you guys remembered the disclaimer too!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Waiting for someone that knows me to say; 'He looks a bit like you!!" 😒😒😒😒😒 Poor mainlander is a shopping trolley for both Chinese and western gals 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I guess neither one. Traditional I like a little better because he is family oriented but it seems as he give zero warmness to his girlfriend and he thinks he compensate it by paying bills-which is should not be like this. If a man taking care of a woman financially that doesn’t mean that it compensates all other aspects as giving love, attention, affection, warmness to his woman. And the western seems more fun from the beginning but he still have Tinder after 6 month-which not appropriate too. So neither one :-)
Somak Chatterjee yes, don’t date western girls and Russian girls too because I am Russian and we want our man to be gentlemen, and to care about us not just financially but also emotionally. I really don’t understand where in my message you got the idea that I want him as a slave? I want polite gentleman who would care and show his love and be ready to have family and kids
Somak Chatterjee please see a good therapist, you are clearly need help. To give love and attention to the woman you love is slavery for you? If So, then yes it’s better for you not to date women. May be you like better to date men? then you are two equal partners
Somak Chatterjee I really don’t understand what in treating his woman with Love and Attention what in it can possible make a man feel as slave? If you give attention to the girl you love, if you spend time with her then it makes you feel as slave?
my current relationship is with a mainland chinese and holy shit this video is so on point hahahaha like i have to ask him to please let me pay for stuff too because he likes to pay for e v e r y t h i n g and sometimes i wanna pay too :( plus shopping with him is weird bc when he needs something he asks me to go shopping, but instead of getting what he needs, he'll want to buy me all kinds of stuff i don't need. i sometimes accept small stuff, but idk, it's something i really have to get used to.
Lol the dating app part is so painfully accurate, Asian guys do not bother to date you seriously if u are not lookin like Porcelain Doll, light skin, skinny and no pimples, but if u do, they will treat u like Queen, buy u things, take u out with a car and give money,
It was driving me crazy that he let her carry that huge bag while she was shopping! I ‘m so glad he took it at the end. I lived in Taiwan for years-never carried a bag or paid for anything. I loved how taken care of I was there!
While I enjoy video games and Netflix too, the westernized one seemed a bit aimless, lacking in ambition, and disinterested in commitment. While the mainlander seemed a bit boring, I’d prefer him over someone who wasn’t that interested in committing for the long-haul. At least he seems more dependable, which is a must for a life partner. Though I do like the westerner’s thriftiness.
This was very interesting to watch. In our culture, Indian men (and Middle Eastern men, as well) try to be a combination of both archetypes as portrayed in this video, here. Whether we do it through legal means, or otherwise. #sociology
I'm an older Canadian Chinese man that mostly grew up in Canada. I know a lot of wmaf couples and they are happiest couples in the world. yes, they may argue from time to time but they resolve them very quickly. I see a lot of single Chinese men who grew up in Canada and still single later part of life. Sad..
Fun video. I must say, I simply cannot stand the way Chinese people tend to make the waitress just wait around while they casually flip through the menu...no consideration.
I think westernized Chinese is way different style wise different from this, and mainland chinese style is probably even more fashion forward. This guy gave it a good shot but its not accurate as of 2020

It was subtle about several differences, which is better than other ones that go to extremes from the start. Hopefully both sides can view this and give their opinions of this, but I think people could do well to have aspects of both groups
I'd prefer the Mainlander. I'm not really high maintenance, but I do prefer someone who's more marriage/family minded.
I doubt a wholesome traditional Chinese man wants to date a cat lady and a furry...
Yes! Was waiting on this video for a while.
Hahahahahaha!!! That was great! I think I prefer the mainlander Chinese gentleman, since I am a conservative, Hispanic woman. That's the perfect man for me.
There are pros and cons. The western Chinese guy is more open-minded but the mainlander is such a gentleman
this actor is soooo good--please make sure he hears this. i'm an actor, and i appreciate good, strong character acting!
Great video. Please do American woman. Your video on the Irish Man was spot on lol my bf is from and lives in Ireland 😍 the Canada Woman is very similar. Love your channel! Here's to breaking boundaries!
Thanks, Amanda! So happy to hear!!
Omg hey! You're so welcome. #fangirl 😂😂😂
"What do you do for fun?"
"...I make a lot of money..."
XD that sounds pretty fun to me
Haters will say Mainlanders lack culture? You cant get any more asian like a Mainlander. Asian Americans are simply Americans with Asian coat
Sweet video! What’s next in this versus series?
Thanks, Conor! Maybe French vs Quebecois now that I am in Montreal :)
Amazing as always!
YESS very different, been with both. Love the mainlander.
I love how the chinese guy thinks in broken english lol
Loving this one !!
And you guys remembered the disclaimer too!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Waiting for someone that knows me to say; 'He looks a bit like you!!" 😒😒😒😒😒
Poor mainlander is a shopping trolley for both Chinese and western gals 🤣🤣🤣🤣
LMAOOOOO “must get a new camera!” yoooo the TRUUUTTTHHHH
My first love was a chinese man he is is adorable and level headed. I love him still.
Two big houses in Shanghai is nuts bro
Wait! It was the same guy all along?
SPOT ON. Actor played mainland Chinese incredibly- gave me flashbacks
reply to "What do you do for fun?" should have been "I go to the casino" XDD
Yep mainlander chinese guys don’t complain about shopping with you at all and actually they just don’t complain in general:)
Great video! :)
Oh my, you're so good! Hilarious 😂
Somak Chatterjee what true? Please google “chivalry”, obviously you are not familiar with the concept.
Somak Chatterjee I really don’t understand what in treating his woman with Love and Attention what in it can possible make a man feel as slave? If you give attention to the girl you love, if you spend time with her then it makes you feel as slave?
I think reason he says 2 is because 2 is kind of a lucky number.
my current relationship is with a mainland chinese and holy shit this video is so on point hahahaha
like i have to ask him to please let me pay for stuff too because he likes to pay for e v e r y t h i n g and sometimes i wanna pay too :(
plus shopping with him is weird bc when he needs something he asks me to go shopping, but instead of getting what he needs, he'll want to buy me all kinds of stuff i don't need. i sometimes accept small stuff, but idk, it's something i really have to get used to.
I’m no so into money but the mainland China man had more manners, more mindful and was sweet. He holds bags for you????? Yes on the that.
Awe, I want a mainlander Chinese man. I love this channel btw
AutumnLeighandCrazy im from the mainland. Im single. May i have a chance
Lol the dating app part is so painfully accurate, Asian guys do not bother to date you seriously if u are not lookin like Porcelain Doll, light skin, skinny and no pimples, but if u do, they will treat u like Queen, buy u things, take u out with a car and give money,
This was amazing I loved it! haha
It was driving me crazy that he let her carry that huge bag while she was shopping! I ‘m so glad he took it at the end. I lived in Taiwan for years-never carried a bag or paid for anything. I loved how taken care of I was there!
Plz decrease the music and increase the volume. We can barely hear what they r saying
Pleeeease do a “You know you’re dating a Peruvian man when” thxxx lotsa love 💕
Great vid
Marina, you must have the most fun job in the world.
Funny enough was just stressed out about organizing a bunch of people for tomorrow so thanks for reminding me! Haha
Sad..
My husband is exactly like the mainlander Chinese when it comes to dining. He makes the waitress wait forever. Funny thing is he’s from Taiwan.
Taiwanese are quite similar to Chinese
they are the same. Taiwan is nothing but a province of china after all.
Expired Donuts i like you!
1:51 Did he say Nigga?! 🤨🧐🤔
Angel Dark ohhh ok, I see 👍🏽
Fun video. I must say, I simply cannot stand the way Chinese people tend to make the waitress just wait around while they casually flip through the menu...no consideration.
My bf is a mix of the two I would say. He is a mainlander but he lived in Canada for 5 years now
As a mainland Chinese living abroad, LMAO . The host is the hottest.
He satirically dramatized both types so hilarious
Dating a countryman in USA please!
so accurate for the mainland chinese. I am dating one rn ❤
Quality video, very objective
I am dating a mainlander now. He’s amazing
This is so accurate I’m dyingggggg 😂
LOL I love this thanks.
I think westernized Chinese is way different style wise different from this, and mainland chinese style is probably even more fashion forward. This guy gave it a good shot but its not accurate as of 2020
Why the mainlander must order two sets of the same food ?
This video is amazing thank you! I pick the mainlanders!
International rules of peacocking: if you're from a country with no (or developing) money, you brag about money. If you're from a country with money, you brag about leisure. XD
Wow Mainland Chinese sounds like the Best Husband
Wow! I mean the Chinese guy ! I never knew they had so many things close to Mexican culture.
Dated Westernized and Mainlanders. They are bred to be amazing providers.
I’m scared I’m friends with a Chinese man and he’s attending Harvard and is absolutely beautiful inside and out but I’m so scared because I have tons of tattooes and I’m worried he won’t date me for what I look like even though he’s told me I’m beautiful. I’m sure his parents would hate me. I’m a lower class white American and he’s a international Chinese student in a home stay living with old people🤣😬 and attending Harvard. I want him to date me so bad but I have way too many flaws. I’m overweight, I’m tattooed, I am WAY too independent. I work A TON of hours as a security guard for the subway, I didn’t finish college, used to be homeless, etc. i fear he’ll never give me a chance because he deserves so much better :(
This is so true. First week dating already talk about when we get married we should venture business together then just volunteer to pay for my derm clinic 😂
