Cecil's is more worthy than being referred to as a deli. bakery, or restaurant - it is an absolute fixture of Highland Park, steeped in rich tradition. I love that this place is so timeless. I hope that they succeed forever and that they never change a thing. The food is amazing, and I am a fan for life!

I went there some years ago with my father and absolutely loved the food. He tragically died a few months ago. I will never forget the food adventures we shared. Cecil's was one of the best.

I live in NYC where we've lost a lot of Jewish delis over the years....but Katz's is still going strong....alot of people don't realize how good this cuisine is and ought to give it a try....your food looks great

I've been going there several times a month for about 20 years. I was even in the background of some of Kare 11's shots. Love Cecil's. With so many restaurant closures in St. Paul in recent years, I'm glad my favorite lunch spot is here to stay.
Perhaps Cecil's had kosher meat when it first opened but Vienna Beef seems to be supplier these days and they are not kosher. However, over and over again other websites will say Cecil's is kosher but then add they serve Vienna Beef from Chicago or are like Katz's in New York (which is not kosher).
I think the majority of people in Minnesota have no idea what kosher means and assume any Jewish deli is kosher.

The service was just ok as well as the food. I’ll try it again someday. In all 40 years living here I’ e been there twice
It is not kosher. The meat itself is not kosher. Meat and cheese are mixed together in violation of kashrut. It is true that many of the foods served are typical of the delicatessen food developed by American Jews.
Grew in Jewish in Hartford Connecticut and we only have one Deli left...
Wish more restaurants had character like this, everything feels so new and sterile these days 😩
