Hello, please don't end this great show! And I have a question: what do you think about Piptoporus betulinus? This week I am ill with some virus and drink teas from this mushroom. There are so many medicinal mushrooms ... and possibilities for new freshcaps shows.

I was a vet tech for 5 years + one of the saddest cases we dealt with was a 60-70lb dog that ate a regular sized milk chocolate bar that contained 4g of psilocybin-containing APE mushrooms in it. The dog was brought in after having a seizure + despite medical intervention, the dog continued to have seizures + passed away within ~12 hours of eating the magic mushroom chocolate. Chocolate toxicity can cause seizures in dogs, but our vet was convinced it was the APE mushrooms that killed the dog, due to the chocolate being a low-cocoa content milk chocolate ingested by a fairly large breed (the darker the chocolate, the more dangerous it is for the dog). We treated lots of chocolate toxicity cases but never had a death in the clinic, except for this one case where the dog ate mushroom chocolate. Please keep all of your magic treats far away from your pets just in case!

for the question of who discovered edible mushrooms, the ancestor... watch the animals. if the animal survived after eating it, we most likely also survive it

My dog learned from me or knew by nature when we went to forage some chanterelles. She likes to eat winter chanterelles, and black trumpet mushrooms I didn't know about before she taught me. She is currently 12 years old wienerdog aka dachshund. She turns her head away if I show her some inedible / poisonous mushrooms. I think she knows something by nature, but to wake up her natural senses required me to take her to the woods, so the instincts activate? just wondering if this is the way knowledge is inherited in genetics. She seems to know about some different types of berries as well.

Love the show. But for a mushroom show I think its weird to say you don't know if Leucocoprinus birnbaumii is edible. Its not edible and considered toxic.

Truth there. In the PNW we always have several cases of misidentified and ingested mushrooms every season. Always do a spore print and ask questions from a well informed source. There's many in every area. Please double check. Please

@FreshCap Mushroom if I grow lobster mushrooms in an indoor tent will it be a different color than the red? To introduce the Hypomyces Lacto how would I do that to like it does in nature? Do you have to get two different types of Spawn and spawn them together so they start a symbiotic relationship or do you introduce it to the lobster mushroom at a certain stage! Tony I am very intrigued with this mushroom and I want to thank you very much for introducing it to me I would love to see you do some more live streams you have such great content!
