I think the residents words and activities speak for how nice the project has been carried out. Community centric and frugal architecture. Good stuff.

affordable vertical housings in quite a lot of poorer place often end up becoming a dogshit filled slum potholes, this pragmatic approach helps and mandates the owners to keep things bright and clean around their houses

Looks great. Would be great if the upper floors had more room in the corridors for socialization. The people on the first floor lack private space... Do feel badly that there isn't easy access for the disabled.

Brilliant design, the small multi purpose entry way, double use corridor for circulation and community gathering area are good design decisions. Kudos to the architects for designing the house around the need of LIG community.

I like the way you thought about space hierarchy also the space character is there that connects people.

Very successful design - pragmatic architecture that works to build communities and promote interaction, amazing! The same concepts could easily be applied to more mixed-tenure housing also with different sizes apartments, etc. Thanks!

    Shilpa, Quaid,
Saw this project in print earlier and loved it!
Guess on first look, one wonders if the hard paving landscape in the quadrangle will be isolated in the tropical sun. But again, we occupy spaces with the movement of the sun and seasons.
The quadrilateral planes on the common corridor look like they could move left or right as and when the individual residents want privacy or shade from the sun...
And setting the kitchen right up front is so very Indian! - "Jo bhi aatey-jaatey hain, humko dikhta hai..."

What is the type of tenure, and how is maintenance of buildings organised?

Not very attractive concrete building but it seems to work very well for the families. Lots of balcony space allows them to live communally and happily with their neighbours, as they wish.

This kind of linear housing style is also quite simiar to 'panel housing' from the socialist era in some of the east European countries.

Look like prison why not see people as you see yourself would you live there.
