There is not a pop singer alive that wants Angelina to go pop. They would be out of work. The world doesn't need another pop princess anyway. It's not in Angelina's DNA to shake it all over the stage half dressed with backup dancers. She could stand alone under a white spot in a suit of her design with an orchestra and choir behind her and stun an audience into tears. She is a gentle soul and only needs to be herself, Angelina.

I’ve often thought Angelina should branch into country music eventually. She’s the best story teller alive so for me it makes sense. She’s international. She can do anything she wants. Just name anything. What ever makes her happy safe and healthy.
She is so versatile it's almost unbelievable but she is primarily a jazz singer. If you want country, try 'Crazy' or 'Nothin' Breaks Like a Heart.' 😎
I can't imagine Angelina NOT doing some pop music even on her first album. Republic needs to get her on the pop charts to get the return on their investment and I believe Angelina is aware that she will need to create pop songs. Once she becomes more established she can go to her roots and do more blues and jazz.

There is no other young vocalist I know of that can match Angelina’s versatility or has her lower range, let alone have her genius level intellect. With every stunning performance she put the rest of the industry on notice. The better get what they can now because once she starts her political career, it’s game over. She actually just turned 12 here if I recall correctly. If you let people listen to this, there is no way anyone will say ‘This is probably a (1) 12 year old girl (2) sitting on a sofa in (3) recorded a living room, oh and it is probably (4) a single take and I think (5) she is holding the microphone the wrong way around’ or even just one of them :-)
She puts so much soul in this performance that it is almost impossible not to be sucked in, sway along and be mesmermised. She has indeed a very rich vocal toolbox and can nail about any genre. Yodeling indeed and also Opera and Rap battles would be interesting to watch. Assuming she’d be interested in either.
Seeing how you broke in a sweat right from the start, I knew you would break down towards the end when she goes full rasp blast. Watching it with your aunt should be good :-) If she likes Amy Whinehouse, Angelina has done a number of covers. Valerie, Back to Black and Rehab come to mind. The last two with adjusted lyrics because of the grown-up nature of the original songs.

After the relatively few songs you’ve heard from Angelina, you understand why we’ve become so addicted to her. A number of your points are spot on- She will always surprise you. She covers an incredible range of musical territory effortlessly. Her vocal toolkit is seemingly bottomless. She doesn’t sing in different genres-she inhabits them: jazz, blues, soul, ballads, r&b, pop, and throw in some c&w and gospel. It’s still hard for me to accept that Angelina gives me my favorite versions of songs in five or six genres. That seems impossible, but it isn’t. Since you mentioned the gospel vibes here, for pure fun watch her go full-on gospel with her live, before a big crowd, version of Something’s Got a Hold on Me. She’s ten, and she just kills it.

You need to hear her yodel when she sings 'Crazy' (ala Patsy Cline!) singing with her band. There are many versions of 'Crazy' she sings but there are two of them when she was 12 which stand out. One features a sax solo and another a guitar solo. And you'll get that yodel!

She had so much fun doing this. Btw, the mike being backwards was not a mistake. She knew her voice would be very different for this performance and she wanted to do it with the mike just the way it was.

To be honest Shakes P. I don't think it is possible to be Truley Prepared for such a phenomenon singer like Angelina Jordan. I know from experiencing her vocals 3years ago & I watch video after videoclip.. listen to the same song after song...subscribed to many reactors...and yet...I continusly get goosebumps. I think even my goosebumps get the chills.🥶
Country - Crazy, Jolene Country pop - Nothing Breaks Like A Heart . She's also done EDM, classical, even a tiny bit of rap. She has not done opera yet that I know of, but she showed she CAN. I don't think she's done yodeling, but her Mister Lonely shows she's capable. I have not heard her doing death metal yet, lol....

Angie was 12 & kicking back on her couch & singing in her Neumann TLM 102 mic backwards on purpose, very smart trick here, for it is a sensitive & high quality mic that she got for 12th B-day. We can't wait until you let your Aunt react to some Angie songs. Speaking of country. Here's her sing country, well contemporary country more like it maybe.

Yes, she looks 12 here, not 13. BTW, I have heard from a family friend that the microphone was not a birthday gift. It was delivered and unboxed, in a video, in April of 2018, contrary to popular belief. It is not clear if she used the back of the mike on purpose, or not. This video might be the one which tried to correct the sound damage...
Angelina got that mic for her 12th birthday, and I believe this was the first time she tried it out. You can even see that she has the microphone the wrong way around... LOL

Excellent reaction and she was 12 when recorded this, she got a new microphone for her birthday. It was released when she was 13 and brings new life to the song, You want to get your mind boggled, check out "You Make Me Feel So Young", you will witness how low she can get. Another one is "How Great Thou Art", she sings in same key as Elvis, God Bless!

But, she may have very well been using it for the first time, who knows? Yes, the mike is backward but we don't know if it was on purpose or not.

@@markkleckner3060 It is a Neumann TLM-102 and perfectly suited to her voice. Whoever picked this one out gets my vote! Lately she has been using a large ancient studio mike, for effect I guess, but it too is very good. Once I identified a TLM-103, a more expensive mike, but I don't think it was any better than her "old" one. God bless you too!

Interesting to note that pretty much the same background track is used in Chris Stapleton's cover of Tennessee Whiskey (In fact - there is a "mashup" video available of the two artists combined.) I enjoy your reactions & do listen carefully to them. Hi Shakes, love the reactions to Angelina. Here is a little girl sitting on her blue velvet couch at home trying out her new Mic and absolutely slaying this song, as usual. Not sure about other Angels, I actually hope Angelina does not get trapped in the "pop" genre as she is a pure vocal artist and her talent is beyond that genre IMHO. It combines The Best of both worlds and takes advantage of her roots in the industry. Her original song 7th Heaven music video is the best. I would make sure you use a blur filter for copyright issues.

Why not extend to Angelina and other young artists what they require? Maximizing RUclips analytics and channel subscriptions to satisfy record labels are what matter. Please add the original video to your description.

But we've got to get this straight. Angelina Jordan certainly likes Amy Winehouse songs but her look and her sound are not from Amy winehouse. Amy Winehouse did not invent the style that she had or the hair or any of that it was borrowed from an older time a time that Angelina Jordan also was influenced by and so it's really mostly coincidence that Angelina has a big head of long dark hair and she utilizes some of that vocal fry that Amy Winehouse did not invent. Besides, Angelina is way Beyond when Amy Winehouse ever was.
