@Gumardee_coins_and_banknotes youre kidding, right? I live in a major city, and 99% of the people in middle-class homes are senior citizens. I work for a luxury service company, and 99% of my customer base is old people. It's sad. There are no family neighborhoods anymore.

The opening salvo . . . uh, I mean video you showed really hit the nail on the head to illustrate the current rate of inflation. It is absolutely insane that my wife and I make as much as we do combined and yet we still feel like we are living paycheck-to-paycheck. THIS is why elections matter and have consequences when we get it wrong.

If companies won’t offer better pay or benefits (or even hire), then let robots take over. We’re done working for devalued money that feels like board game cash in this inflated market. Employers' money doesn’t motivate anymore-let the robots do it all. Work just isn’t worth the squeeze anymore. According to the latest stats, many Americans are now officially paying to work-crazy as it seems. They’re going into debt because their pay isn’t covering basic expenses, such as housing, GAS, and food.

    • @radgraham

@hardship2hustle can't disagree. Which is my many want to work remote now. Saves more money and less stress of having to drive into an office 🤙

What's the gameplan when your parents kick the can and you have no one to take care of you? Are you banking on there being Sewyside booths like in Futurama? Being homeless and begging for resources on the streets is a lot more work than actually working and living check to check.

@@DC-wo2yb Companies accumulate massive wealth by leveraging human labor and then automating tasks. Bill Gates' proposal to tax corporations for automation (dubbed the "robot tax") could help fund Universal Basic Income (UBI). While some enjoy working, I support initiatives that allow people to pursue creative interests without needing traditional jobs. Ambitious individuals will still work, but survival won't depend on it in a world increasingly automated.
As companies automate, we’ll adapt-that’s what humans do. Millions of Americans have already left the workforce, and UBI could provide support, offering them a chance for personal growth. These folks are labeled as "discouraged workers" in gov't stats. On top of those who have already exited, some recently unemployed workers are reportedly applying for the minimum job openings needed to maintain unemployment benefits, avoiding (ghost jobs by) companies with toxic practices that they've uncovered. Meanwhile, skilled workers still employed are "offshoring" their talents to foreign companies and embracing remote work-a positive trend.
We’re tired of working for devalued wages that feel like Monopoly money in this inflated market, especially in toxic work environments. Employers' money no longer motivates-*let* the robots take over. It's time.

Inflation in a nutshell. I was 200 lbs in 2020 and gained 10lbs a year, now in 2024 I am 240lbs. Every year I am getting fatter, and, in the end, I would need to lose the 40lbs to get back to my starting weight, this folks is where we are at, even if I lose 10lbs I am still 30lbs heavier than when I started. Unfortunately, Inflation is still increasing albeit slower, but it would be like me putting down the doughnut only to pick up a cookie....

We need someone in leadership to present some solutions. We're going to have to adapt. We're only screwed if we keep trying to maintain the same system and way of living. At this rate civil unrest and martial law are less than a decade away - maybe less than 5 years away. When too large of a percent of the population can't buy food and is scavenging on the streets and committing crimes for survival. Something has to change, right? Or is The Walking Dead / Mad Max life just going to be how it is forever.
