Right on! To anyone watching this video thinking about building a car. He is spot on 100% correct. Go out there and have fun #1. I race at Sycamore when I get time off which isnt often. I've also raced a couple Enduros at LaSalle Speedway. Tried to race at Rockford last fall but I was 15 minutes past the pre race cutoff. Take Care and remember safety #1 Have Fun #2 Meet new people in the pits #3 and maybe try for a trophy #4.
Thanks man! Come say hello if you ever see me out there! I dont race at Sycamore anymore, last time I was there someone drove me down the whole back straight right in to the wall on purpose. So that was enough for me. lol.
400$ for that enduro half cage Integra isn't a bad price at all! We race 4cylinders too! We race against Dodge Neons, Chevy Cobalts, Chevy Cavaliers, Ford Escorts, Pontiac Sunfires and Integras too! My family drives Chevy Cavaliers at the race track. I Upload videos of my races on youtube. I am the #81jr [Michael]. I upload videos of my entire team from the GoPros we have mounted on each car. I like the video!! Keep on racing!
My family races to but we drive whatever we have but most of ours are Grand Prix's and Saturn there been some Mustangs and a bunch of others I can't remember
Even with the 1 inch lugs and studs purchased from Speedway Motors, my cavalier I built a few years ago and raced at Madison International Speedway on the Ring of Fire, with the stock steel wheels, the center of my RF blew out completely during a feature race. Bassett racing wheels are definitely better if the rules allow them. I also bought my cage kit from Lefthander chassis.
@Kartracer95 those Cavalier wheels are notorious for doing that. The 1 inch lugs also have the wrong taper for the stock GM wheels. So if you use those, it's almost 100% it's going to break them. Use stock lugs on stock wheels or run Bassetts with the proper tapered racing lugs. That's EXACTLY why that 1 inch lug nut rule is STUPID and wrong.
I'm glad you know a little about what you're doing because the current status when purchased was a death trap can't believe someone raced it with the Mickey mouse belt setup and the unprotected cockpit as far as sharp edges and lose material some guys got balls
I've seen way worse too! I've always studied safety and have learned how to properly build a car after 15 year of being in racing. This car is the least safe of any I race too. Next build I will make my own custom cage. Should be quite a bit better! New build series coming soon!
@@thatracinglife it's all thumbs up I know I'm late to the party but it's refreshing to see someone that's aware of their own personal responsibility when it comes to safety I've been around racing for a minute and and can't believe some of the thangs I've seen and for the most part tracks and promoters will let you compete you gotta look out for number one because in most cases no one else is be safe and you got a new fan
I have been told to take my enduro car up to Jefferson for the enduro, but it's a car that's cost me maybe 300 and I've had it for almost 2 years now, and it runs perfectly fine, but it's not got a cage, it's got a bar across the car behind the seat to keep it from going smush, but that's it. I learned how to drive stick in it, in the goblin at Rockford that had 213 cars in it, so back in 2016.
Nice! ISS races clean. Not like the Goblin. lol. You will need at least a plate over the drivers door to pass tech if you don't do a cage. But I highly recommend doing a cage. You don't need a fast car to do well, just survive to the end!
The car I have has one dent in it, otherwise it's still dent free. It's a matter of driving style for me. But I already have a racecar which has a cage in it. so it's not exactly cheap to do that to another car.
chris wright I've raced over 170mph in 3h+ endurance races for years and never had an issue. Every time I've seen that type of failure it's been because the wheels themselves cracked from being used for years. The stock type steel wheels don't handle that abuse for very long. Always inspect the areas around where the lug nuts go on the wheels, Front and back for cracks.
Sounds reasonable I'm not to sure how old my buddies wheel was but it defiantly pulled thru lol 2 laps on a 5/8 mile track was probably one of the roughest tracks on the east coast not to mention lol
I wonder if this kind of car can compete a little in different kinds of motorsport branches, not the professional kinds, mind you, but rather the grassroots and such.
What class would this race? I’m looking to get into it an wanna go the cheapest route this definitely is cheaper than a late model or super stock for that matter
Circle tracks have many different names for classes. This is an enduro car. But other names would be mini stock, pure stock, Bandit, Bees, Hornets, compacts, 4cyl, etc. Basically stock fwd 4cyl class. Hope that helps.
Sometimes you can find them from people at the track. Or if you want a cheap complete car you can search the typical classifieds like Facebook, Craigslist, letgo etc. Hope that helps! Any other questions feel free to ask!

Been racing it in races for over a year now. Its pretty much a racecar if you are racing it in races. No drag cars are racecars? 99% of those are automatics. There is also an advantage written in to the rule book for automatics in this class in the series I race in. ;)
Tires or wheels? Want to learn a lesson? Aftermarket wheels have a taper shape seat for the lug nuts. Stock wheels have a conical shape. So do stock lugs. If you run taper lugs on a conical wheel, they either crack them or they come loose because there is not much surface area holding them together. Guess which style is on the oversize lug nut? YOU must be new...
