Hey ParnellyX, as a long-time viewer and fellow WW enjoyer, I very much enjoyed your analysis in this one. I like you are very respectful of Xyllow and I also like how you articulated awareness of your own shortcomings e.g., going too hard sometimes and not prioritizing dragons enough. I agree that this season is hard to itemize for WW as AD damage items are hard-nerfed and AP-related items and AP champions are inadvertently buffed - in short, WW gets nerfed overall. I think the game is harder to 1v9 these days and especially hard for WW who (in theory) does actualize as a 1v9 champion. I have followed you since your (old) Red Smite AD WW and also Zombie-Wick days and always liked your playstyle. I look forward to see what you will cook next.
For me the "gets out of base super strong and immediately dies" around 12 minutes and the phrase "you are not a real ww player if you don't make these psychotics game decisions" at 12:40 is what gets me
Now I saw the clip. Yeah, I actually thought it was pretty creative, to ult further back to try to jump to the bush, but it wasn't well executed and looked pretty funny (not sure if it was worth it, even if he landed and stealed)
The way I view the Voidgrubs vs Dragon argument is that the Grubs help you with push, but in order to do so you mainly need to win fights, and Dragons is what helps you win those. So, unless I have some champs that heavily prioritize split pushing (like Yorick), or our team comp has great push overall that the enemy would have a hard time dealing with, I wouldn't focus on grabbing more than one Grub (just for the XP and to deny the enemy from stacking 6). It also works vice-versa where you can try to deny them from the enemy if they have great use of them.
Glad to see I'm not crazy. I go swiftys, stride, BotRk start nearly every game. I prefer Deadmans plate and spirit visage though. last item sundered, steraks, or sometimes hullbreaker. I also sometimes switch boots to plated or mercury if i really need them.
It's worth noting that the enemy jungler is Malice who is considered to be a good player and jungler overall (though maybe a little bit too prone to tilting and toxicity).
