I have 4 Thai Cons and 2 Albos. My daughter is air layering her Aurea so I can have one. I started off with an Albo during covid, my daughter and I went to a small family owned nursery and the lady sold me an Albo she had just received. I think I paid $250 for a 4 leaf, 2 node Albo. My daughter was in love with it so I told her to cut it and take half the plant back to college with her. I love my Albo and I get some gorgeous half moons. I got my big Thai Con the following year as a Christmas gift. It was $375 back then but it was a large 3 leaf fenestrated Thai. I just recently up potted mine too! I have an insanely looooong aerial root growing outside the pot so when I repotted it I coiled it into the new pot. (my soil mix looks a lot like yours but I add tree fern fiber and worm castings to mine, I think it likes it) It was a little difficult to get it out of the pot but I somehow managed. Anyway, the cheapest and last Thai Con I bought was $42 at a nursery. I feel that’s as lucky as I’m going to get. ❤️ love your content!
Hi Kevin this big baby is beautiful!!✨ Knowing languages is very rewarding, You must do spanish ,you will have new people that will enjoy your videos, theres a big community outthere... Watching from australia, born in Uruguay .. 💚🍀🌿🌵💚
i have 2 teen age TCs and a baby along with a large one. the teen agers and baby put out one leaf after another, each one larger than the prior leaf but the large one puts out a leaf every 3 or 4 weeks. i use optiflora plant food and molly's soilless mix which seems to have helped.
5:20 well, a plant tissue culture lab in thiland took the large form regular monstera and exposed it to radiation to make it be speckeled. Thats why its a stable form of varigarion as opposed to like an albo. So yeah the Tahi Con was made in thiland. Just wanted to correct you about you saying it WASNT from Thailand bc it is. A lab in Thailand but thats where the patent is from.
Your plant is amazing! I have a Thai Constellation as well. When I got mine it was a bit smaller than your baby one. Once I transferred it to Pafcal chips it took off. I’d say my leave is about the same size as your large one now. It’s on a moss pole and it’s gi-normous! It took over an entire window nook of mine. It’s an absolute bully because it bent my plastic d-shaped moss pole and it left no space for my other plants.
From all of the research I've read and watched it started as a mutation naturally, but then was TC'd in Thailan which lead to its vast population now :-)
Getting yourself gifts cuz no one else does is totally relatable! And what better gift than a gorgeous Thai Con😍
Right? Why wait for someone else to gift you when you can just be your own Santa? Thai Con for the win!
For those of us with cramped spaces and too many plants, the question is how to keep it smaller. 😂
Fair question! Don’t upscale its pot size lol
Use PON. Semi Hydro. Its not how much Greenery you have. Its how much dirt you got to keep. With PON you got no dirt.
Yes I do! I absolutely love that speckled look with the fenestrations
😍😍😍
Thanks for the info, plant dad!
You bet! 😄

Love that you and your daughter are into plants together! Sounds like a fun project. Those prices, though-plant shopping can be a wild ride, huh? 😃
Bro you are so funny. Those monsteras look amazing by the way.
Thanks 😆

Wow, sounds like your plants are on a roll! Keep up the good work, they’re lucky to have you!
Green with envy, I am so happy that the move didn't shake the growth. Don't put that Baby Thai in the corner lol.❤
LOL! oddly enough it is in a corner in the living room (but it's a spot that gets a lot of light) LOLOLOL
that's a beautiful thai con!🤩
Thank you!!

I really appreciate you taking the time to set the record straight! Your knowledge about the Tahi Con is super helpful for everyone watching!
In your opinion, will the Tai Con grow faster climbing or crawling?
I love your channel and your plants.
Continued good growing.
Thank you so much! That’s a great question I’ll look into! 😃
