*comatoseCristatus* because it's a feel good truism made out of something you were out to do for the whole game. Also, you cannot "save the world" unless it has a threat to be saved from so it would be absurd to claim that saving the world is the only meaningful thing because then you'd be stuck waiting for a threat to give you something meaningful to do (duh!) Also, from my standpoint you either promote the value of saving the world as something more meaningful than every other option (because without a world for you to live you cannot even exist in order to find meaning) or you make all meaningful things equal in which case you pray for someone to pick the task of saving the world just because it's meaningful for them and not because it has the highest possible priority.
The quote hit me hard as well I feel like it means you don’t have to go out of your way to save other people to know you have meaning in life The sometimes all you need is someone to take care of kinda hurts
Lucid Lullaby I think it’s because we as humans think too hard on the meaning of life. The answer is simple. Your friends, family, self love and hobbies you love.
It hurts me even more that Aigis keeps talking about how she wants to protect and care for Makoto and stuff like that, but doesn't realize that Makoto is dying in her arms. It's purely heart-wrenching.
I think it's tragic that Minato's last words were either "Don't Cry" or "It'll be Alright" (Depending on the player). Even in dying, he's more worried about his friends' wellbeing than his own.
I mean in that ending he literally chose to hold nyx knowing he would die in the end to save the world so any option where he's worried about himself wouldn't make any sense either way
The most depressing part of this game, in my first playthrough at least, is how every confidant in the end is talking to you about next year and the things they want to do with you. Yet next year never arrives.
I think this game has a really clever ending. If you notice, everything about this ending is romanticized and over the top. The cherry blossoms, Aigis having only human parts, Mitsuru's cheesy slow motion jump, and the overall cheerful nature of the final song are examples of this. I think one of the reasons they did this was to replicate the feeling of euphoria which is mentioned earlier in the game. Like Mr. Edogawa says when talking about near death experiences, euphoria is to "experience complete and total happiness." To me, this really added to the scene's emotion and was a brilliant way to portray your character's death by making you relate in this way.
I think it also works based on what Aigis says. Since you understand the inevitability of death / after you defeat NYX, notice that she says a lot of simple things like, "The weather is lovely outside," and "This is my first time experiencing spring!" It's just like you say: it leaves you with that feeling of, "Huh, what a lovely day to die."
FreshTillDeath56 She's saying all of that b.c she knows the mc is about to die. It's kinda like a last moment farewell before officially parting with the mc. Death is a part of life after all, Aigis just wants to remind mc how beautiful life is in his final moments before dying.
@@Kiddan124 There are times when you will lose sight of your goal, and you will have to search for it. But if you can't find it, then you must set your heart into a new goal. To truly live, you will need to make changes sometimes. -Mitsuru Kirijo
Admittedly, I had the end of this game spoiled for me long before I finished it, so I played the entire thing knowing he would die. And yet the ending still hit me so hard.
Same here, but I could have never predicted how it would happen. I was expecting something over the top and dramatic during the final battle, but seeing just how perfectly it played out blew wayyy past my expectations.
same. However, when the mc came back from the moon alive I was kinda confused and relieved that I just got a fake spoiler... Then, seeing the peaceful and happy death the mc had... Hit me in the feels. Persona 4's ending didn't hit me as hard as this one. I'm glad I played this game
The intro keeps saying “remember you are mortal” “remember you will die” it doesn’t matter if you know or not and the game knows that. Making it very literally making persona 3 more about the journey than the destination
P3FES is my favorite game in my life, I recently finished Reload, 18 years later I still cried as if it were the first time seeing it happen, the way it happened when I saw the movies
One thing I never noticed until now. When yuki opens the door for Aigis he is breathing heavily. As if he was out of breath just walking to the door. No wonder he was lying down on the rooftop. Probably took all of his energy to get there. Just to keep his promise. What a great MC. 😭😭😭
Actually, that breathing animation appears all throughout the game from the very start of the game to the end. It's an idle animation. I noticed it since he breathes with his shoulders instead of his diaphragm which is a bad breathing technique. It's just a little animation that gives him some charm.
I know your comment was four months ago but I have a theory about this. Aigis has a dual nature: her human nature and robotic nature. When she finally figures out her human nature in the final parts of the game, she still is able to perform all of her robotic functions, one of which I would assume is reading life signs in others. So in this scene, Aigis was a hit confused why she was crying when she was supposed to be happy. My theory is that since she focuses way more in her human nature, she tries to ignore her robotic nature in this scene because Minato's life vitals are going away. Her change in breathing in her last few lines still sounds like she's in sorrow. Thus she knows in her robotic nature that he is dying, but her human nature doesn't see that.
and if you notice at part 15:05 aegis actually has ears and her cloth neck is gone, but then right at the end it shows her with her usual look, hinting that really she became human because of hem
my theory is that it wasn’t an animation error but done on purpose to show that minato/makoto views aigis as a guardian angel with a human appearance in his final moment...
The day he fell asleep... we brought him back to our dorm, fear begining to well up within us. The next morning, our fears became reality, and he was lost to us.
"A soul slumbers at the ends of the world, that of a young man who devoted himself to becoming a seal. That soul is risking itself to prevent mankind, who has lost the joy of living, from calling down ultimate destruction."
Well, death was written all over the MC ever since Ryoji's revelation. The death arcana was inside the MC, Ryoji keeps repeating that Nyx cannot be defeated, and the fall is the absolute end of the world. *death flags* *death flags*. what a great game, now onto Persona 4.
Imagine this ending with the fidelity of Persona 5's modern graphics. Instead of tearing up I would've been crying my ass off. Update: 4 years later I can confirm, I cried my ass off.
@friend I think they can make it work. The story can easily be left alone and gameplay can surely be improved. The problem is time, just time. Do they really want to invest in an old game that may or may not sold great in hopes that today's audience would want or even look into it? I'd hope so, believe me, but that's pretty much the gist.
@@Nebellune Many games were successful when they were remade (FFVII, RE, KH). And yeah, you're right, leave the story alone, improve the gameplay... Maybe they can give us full control of the characters, or at least put a smarter AI lol
This is my favorite persona. Fuck this game man. I was up till 8 in the morning, fought 2 cool mini bosses, fought the best boss fight ever, and then cried in the end. That scene was even more sad because I did the aigis social link. She says she will live to protect you as you die in her arms and then that fucking song says I will never leave you man Fuck this game. Every time man every time I get so damn sad. Great ending though.
This is without a doubt one of the best endings to a video game I have ever experienced. You get a one to one interaction with everyone you have ever interacted with. And the very final scene is being with, essentially, your family and closing your eyes one final time knowing that their feelings are of hope and happiness. And that they are all together once again. This is how you write an ending to an RPG fucking Bioware.
Now imagine if Atlus had added the scene they were planning about Minato's funeral with the presence of SEES and all of his social links...that would have destroyed me completely :'(
That might've worked as a scene in The Answer, but the ending we got was perfect honestly. Minato quietly passing away in Aigis's arms as the screen fades to white. There is no better ending for a game about death.
I'm going to be honest, I wish i didn't know that he dies at the end. Until I came across some post and then I realized what the MC did. Here I was thinking that the miracle actually happens, that everyone will return to their school life's, even the MC. I was so wrong...
I just finished it today... I cant describe how beautiful and sad it is at the same time... Just imagine yourself putting over a 100+ hours of time into this game and then get an Ending like this one. I was new to the persona series and only discovered it through the kubz scouts youtube channels, but more important I already did play p5 and I still have to say that p3 is not only the best persona game ever made, but probably also the best game in general i've ever seen in my life. I hope that they at least consider making a remaster of this fantastic masterpiece. I never cried before at any ending of any game, but at the moment Aigis tells the MC that her reason to live is to protect him, unknowing of the fact that he is peacefully passing away at exactly this moment, I completely lost it.
Bro that's exactly me. I came to persona 3 unexpectedly walking into a god damn masterpiece of a game. This game made me cry real tears. I can't play the answer because I start to tear up every time i see Aigis or anyone of the SEES team. This is by far the best persona game ever, and to me personally the best game of all time. Period.
I beat the game this past summer, and it was also the first year where I wasn't crying myself to sleep every other night. I had gotten through therapy for some depression, but I didn't have much direction. I jokingly said that I wanted to die because I had nothing left to do in the world, that all of my business was up. I was joking around to myself that night (I had 4 99's on my messiah, spell master/armageddon on helel) that the final boss would be too difficult. I knew that the protag dies at the end, but the way that the ending was structured, I thought that he might live. When the game said that i felt sleepy, I realized. When Aigis said "Soon, all your friends will be here by your side," that's when I cried my first real tears of 2019. Floodgates, sobbing, uncontrollable sadness. I got through it, had to take a walk and calm myself down. All I can say about what this game made me do is that it made me consider my own death in a meaningful way, just like what you said about the 100+ hours (it's hard to not identify with a character that you've played for even a 20 hour game). Even if I don't think I want anything from this world, other people care for my existence. Them caring about me is already reason enough to live. Now, thanks to a pervy, 15 year old video game, I actively don't want to die. It's good to see that other people appreciate this game like I did.
January 31st 2010 he performed a miracle to save us all and his friends March 5th 2010 he fulfilled one last promise to his friends to his friends before passing on Rest In Peace Minato Arisato you will always be remembered 10 year anniversary of his death
The most tragic life character in persona series *Makoto* : he lost both his parents Living alone for 10 years And just 1 year he have happiness, friends, bestfriend and also the woman he love, but he have to lost it again for the sake to save the world, the world the Important person for him to live he sacrificed his life to seal nyx And everyone didnt know Makoto was the hero who save the world, But even so im glad even other people didnt know at least Makoto friend know the truth that Makoto was the hero
Reload's ending animation is great and all, but nothing beats Aigis' original VA's performance & delivery of this scene - the profound, joyful realization of her own life's worth, while probably knowing deep down the MC's about to pass away yet still trying to hold on through the sorrow.
time for p4 n p5 to shine bright like a dic...diamond. Hmm...need to thank p3 for sealing nyx and saving the world...and the only drawback are shadows still lurking around. As the fans for 45 says, no shadows no kill2 pew2 from both p4/5 protag to shine bright like a dic..diamond...or was it deplorable-sister-loving-lolicon and latex-pervert-thief-wannabe?
I just beat this game today, and I still can't believe what happened.. I'm still crying. This game was amazing, and I will do new game plus, plus The Answer. I was confused with him being tired, but then I had a feeling something was going to happen. :-( God bless this game! This game has changed me forever
I felt the same way when I beat it almost a year ago. This game is masterpiece. It is for sure my favourite game of all time, I constantly revisit it. I still haven't played the answer yet though (don't really plan to either) and have only dabbled in persona 4. Persona 4 was certainly great, but Persona 3 is far superior in every aspect in my opinion.
+SonySlyer I beat this game around November and I'm still trying to get through The Answer after a long hiatus. I think I still want to cry about this from time to time. I think I'm playing The Answer just to get more feelz and some sense of closure.. Don't know if you've tried it yet, but if you haven't be forewarned, there's a pretty huge difficulty spike.
And no compendium to keep all of the personas you really like. I'm the same way. I have like two more doors, so I'm psyched to see how this will all turn out.
Haven’t seen this in over 10 years. Beat this game as a Jr. In high school, and now here I am, 28, watching it again and bawling. This brought out some heavy deep emotions.
i’m a junior in high school right now, and just finished this game - it’s amazing to think that people across different generations can still share an experience from relatively the same point in their lives. it’s even more strange and amazing that the shared experience is a video game. i hope you’re doing well internet stranger.
This ending honestly shaped my perception in a lot of ways. Mostly, that endings don't have to be happy to be good, that there's beauty in tragedy. I love Persona 3, and the ending is a large reason why.
Alyssa Rasmussen Normally, people who didn't like this ending was mostly because the mc died. From the very beggining, the game reminds you that you are going to die (Memento mori). The Persona series take into account Karl Jung's psychology theories regarding death. During the story the are too many clues which tell to you about how ephemeral life can be, that includes this final scene. The cherry tree's leaves falling means youth, a short life coming to its death. It's heavily deep and meaningful You can not defeat death, it's unnatural... accepting that fact is one of those things that makes us human beings. I really love this game but hate the fanboys/girls who are pissed irrationally with the mc's death. They thought this was going to be like DBZ or something just cause it's appealing characters design.
***** Alright. So you're saying people don't get this ending because they don't see the natural beauty of how this ending truly is! He sacrificed himself because to save the world and people don't see that at all. That was the only way to close the seal because HE was the seal. Right?
i loved the ending, but i still wish and hope they'll make a game where we can save the protagonist he deserves a happy ending in the alive sense in my book
Fck I hate this ending, since I've played until reach god level to kill the secret boss and got the omnipotent orb, I'm Always tried to full my social link for perhaps i can reach other ending, even got good ending is sad "It's Too Hard run from the truth, So I'll face it with smile"
I just finished this version of the game tonight. I got spoiled YEARS ago and yet it STILL hit for me…just the tone of it. Aigis being so human and talking about how much Makoto helped her find her purpose, everyone coming to the roof after getting their memory just to see Makoto was already gone…it hurts. If they got their memories back sooner, they may have been able to see him as he passed. But the game said it so many times and even blatantly foreshadowed it with saving “He just so happened to find his purpose before of all you.” It makes in context and with this ending being so in-tune with the game’s makes me love it, even if it’s super depressing. That and well…The Answer and Elizabeth’s P4AU (sort of) but not definitively) implies that he may not TRULY gone, at least not in spirit.
I don't think he's in a coma, since The Answer revealed he was pronounced dead at the hospital a day or two after admission. The only part of him that's still technically alive is his soul, and even that's somewhere deep inside the Collective Unconscious, not in the real world.
@@Rettomus We passed upon a stare We spoke of was and when Although I wasn't there He said he was my friend Which came as some surprise. I spoke into his eyes I thought you died alone A long long time ago Oh no Not me I never lost control You're face To face With the man who sold the world
One thing that always gets to me is how Aigis sounds 100% human at 12:51. She usually has a slight robotic tone to almost everything she says, but for a minute here, that tone completely disappears. I'm not mentally ready for this in P3R. I'm gonna cry hard. Lmao.
I finished Persona 3 Portable on my switch last night and this fucking broke me, I felt so heartbroken that it made me question "Was this really the good ending" but when I think about it, it is, the bad ending, everyone dies but this ending, only one person dies and thats Makoto and he dies a hero's death He truely deserves the arcana of The Universe I proceeded to watch The Answer and it broke me more because the message about the base game is about death and to live your life to the fullest while The Answer is all about letting go and accepting what happened, that you cant change the past or bring someone back, you just have to accept that their gone but you can carry their memories and use that opportunity they gave you to bring hope to others Persona is a series I got into about two years ago and each game tought me a lesson Persona 5 Royal tought me that its okay to be an outcast, just be yourself Persona 4 tought me that fate isnt always pre-determind and that I can do whatever I can if I put my mind to it But Persona 3 tought me the biggest lession of all To live life to the fullest with all of my loved ones I have cuz tomorrow, They might not be there or I could die Persona is a game that even through im still new to it, holds a special place in my heart in the experiences I had, the amazing story and music but also the lessons it tought me along the way To anyone who hasn't played this series First: Why are you here, you are spoiling an amazing game Second: give this series a go, even if you dont play JRPGs, this series is worth it and you won't regret it, I promise
Since I finished Persona 3 after the anniversary of his death, I'm gonna pay them now You will never be forgotten No matter how many times god's tries to destroy the world, we got you looking down and helping the new Wild Card along You died too young, Rest in peace Makoto/Minito, you are missed
Talking to all the social links in those last two days and seeing how their lives have changed and commenting on how sick you look really makes the ending hit so much harder. Your last few days in the world and you're reminded of all the good you've done for everyone.
My MC broke his promise to yukari about spending time in the mountains together. Just finished the game and didn’t realize he died at first. Really good. Wasn’t expecting such a good game that early on. Was pleasantly surprised.
Ah 14 years ago. Man, how time flies. I was in school then, now I have a wife and a kid. This game taught me to open up more and be more sociable. Now it still teaches me a lesson about caring for someone.
I finished P3 for the first back in Feb 14. It has since been the ONLY game that's brought me to tears (P4 was *very* close). Don't mind me everyone, it's March 5 2022 and I'm simply here to pay my respects.
Nothing beats Karen Strassman's performance man, the Aigis scene is just so beautiful... Reload doesn't even come close for me. Nothing can possibly beat this, the choking up of voice, the way she forgoes the robotic stiffness slowly as the scene progresses... It hurts in all the right ways.
No matter how many times I see the ending to this game, it hurts. It hurts so, so much. Reasons like this is why Persona 3 is my favorite game of all time.
I just finished this today and wow I legit can’t stop the tears. What a journey this game was. Such a beautiful death but it still hits so hard. I’m glad I played this game.
Ive never played the game, i watched the movie. In the movie its much clearer that minato dies. It has much more emotion because the team looks out the window when mitsuru says her father died. They gasp a sprint to the roof. Aigis says her lines then the door bursts open. You here "Makoto!" feintly as makotos vision is fading. He closes his eyes and it ends. That had me in tears. Such a great and powerful story.
Thank you, thank you so much for everything Persona 3. I know you're just a piece of fiction, but you've touch me in a way no media has ever done, thanks to you, I always have the strength to carry on in life. Thank you.
Yesterday I finished Persona 3 and I must say that it left me worse than it already was. It's very cute, beautiful and melancholic the way the story ends and honestly, I ended up crying, something that never happened before with a game.
Makoto lives, Alternate Ending - Just a fanfiction I wrote. Conditions: Max all social links, be level 99, defeat Elizabeth, the Reaper, and Nyx. :High school rooftop: Narrator: Chidori suddenly walks over as the group surrounds Yuki who has just seemingly closed his eyes sitting with Aegis. Junpei: Chidori!? Chidori: Hello, Junpei-san. I remember you all now, I remember all of you, I remember everything that happened again! Yukari: Why's she here? Chidori: I showed up for a reason. There's something Takaya told me while I was still a part of Strega. He said there was no way to defeat Nyx to you all. That was a lie. There is one way you could defeat Nyx. That is through the great seal. Essentially, your leader here has sealed away Nyx, Nyx cannot be killed. That is why Takaya and Jin tried to stop you from reaching the top of Tartarus, they didn't want him to be able to stop Nyx even though the chance was 1 in a million. In order for the great seal to be effective, he had to sacrifice himself to become a door to hold back Nyx from the world. Ever since Junpei has come into my life, I've feared death. Your leader didn't fear it, which is why this was the only way he thought he could take to save the world. There's still time to save him, he's in a coma like state right now. He is not actually dead yet. He will be soon however if I don't heal him. Don't worry Junpei, this will not kill me, it will make me very tired, but since he's still alive and here, you won't have to worry. Narrator: Everyone is astonished at what they've just heard. Yukari: Ugh, he is so gonna get it once you bring him fully back here. Fuuka: I sense his life is fading away. She's telling the truth. Let her heal him. Mitsuru: Very well, Chidori, you can proceed in bringing him back. Junpei: Just be careful, Chidori. I've lost you once already! I can't let it happen again. Narrator: Chidori nods and walks over to where Aegis is holding Makoto. She's puts her finger on his forehead as she begins to heal him. Chidori: It's done. Fuuka: He's coming back, I sense him strong again. Narrator: Makoto opens his eyes and sits up from where Aegis is. Yukari: You are so dead, Yuki! Making us all worry like that! Aegis: How could you not say anything to us? Narrator: Tears begin to flow down Aegis's face. Makoto (Me): I'm sorry, I did not want to trouble all of you with my departure. I knew what I had to do against Nyx, thank you Chidori. I did not have a reason for living until I joined SEES. I didn't care whether I lived or died, I've said that before. But now, I'm not afraid of dying, but I'd like to live on with all of you. I believe we've just had the second miracle we sought. Aegis: I can't express how mad I am at you for not telling us you'd be dead soon after that battle. Yukari: You and me both. We've all been through so much this year and you just made us think we'd lost you forever! Aki: Let him rest. He just saved the entire world. Mitsuru: Can we all stop this? Makoto (Me): Listen, you all taught me that an empty life is not a life worth living, that is why I used the seal on Nyx, it is because it was my purpose. The door is still there, but I'm no longer needed there thanks to Chidori. Junpei: Can we just celebrate already? That's what we came here for right? I want all the sushi and all the drinks. Makoto (Me): Everyone, can you forgive me for not saying anything? Yukari: I forgive you, but I'm still mad at you! Aegis: Forgiven, but I will not be leaving your side ever. You scared me. Mitsuru: I may have to order your execution later on for what you just did, but you're forgiven. Ken: Forgiven, your sacrifice reminds me of Shinjiro. Aki: I understand why you did it, if there was an easier way you would have taken it. Koromaru: Woof Woof! Fuuka: I forgive you, but you scared all of us to death. Makoto (Me): Thank you. Let's go eat now. Narrator: Makoto finds himself in the velvet room once again. Igor: My my, what an interesting turn of events. Your powerful bonds of friendship have kept you around. You have found the answer to life and have had two brilliant miracles. The voices and aid of your friends has kept you living despite your touch with death. Feel free to visit anytime, you truly have been, the most remarkable guest. Narrator: The scenes play out of everyone having a good time together and enjoying graduation day at the high school. ----March 31st---- Narrator: Everyone is up bright and early as they prepare for their last day in the current dorms. Fuuka calls Yukari. Fuuka: Um, Yukari-chan, it's me, are you coming today? Yukari: I have cram school today, do you know if Yuki will be there? Fuuka: Yes, we're all downstairs already waiting for you. Mitsuru-senpai is talking about us turning over our evokers, but Yuki is saying otherwise. Yukari: I'm on my way! I'm not passing on this opportunity! Narrator: The scene cuts to the group at the dorm table. Makoto (Me): We should still keep these if anything happens, just in case Mitsuru-senpai. Mitsuru: But we defeated Nyx and saved the world, why bother now? Makoto (Me): They are a keepsake to our past, had I of passed away, I know you all would be struggling right now. But I'm here now, and I'm going to senior year with Aegis, Yukari, Junpei, and Fuuka. I used up all of my power to protect all of you. It is a miracle I'm here, let us keep these as we move on with our lives. No matter if we're separated our bonds of friendship will remain forever. Speaking of Yukari, where is she? Fuuka: Oh, she's on her way from cram school, she didn't want to miss this. Mitsuru: Good, she's on her way. Makoto (Me): I'm thankful to Chidori for reviving me, not because I was afraid of dying, but because I had grown to be afraid of what you all would do after I was gone, what do you think you all would be doing if I wasn't revived? You'd be fighting, you'd be angry and upset, and I don't want that. Junpei: Dude, this is the most you've talked all year man, did it take this long for you to open up to us? Makoto (Me): I just needed some personal space, Junpei. Narrator: Everyone laughs as Yukari enters the dorm. Junpei: Hey you're late, what are you doing at cram school? Yukari: Sorry, I wanted to get started for senior year and our entrance exams early, but I'm here, let's eat sushi! Narrator: Everyone eats and enjoys themselves, promising to meet again at least once a month despite Mitsuru's and Aki's graduation.
I just finished the game and wanted to watch again the ending because is so awesome. Only 2 games made me cry Final Fantasy X and now Persona 3. Such a great experience.
You really have to put a lot of personality behind the voice for comic reliefs. Look at Max Mittleman and his voice acting for Ryuji in Persona 5. Top notch.
A lot of the English VA's delivery were surprisingly good. Especially, for a PS2 game that would have been a very niche title at the time of its release. A little bit were kind of flat like Shinji but other than him the main cast was perfect. I didn't know Vic Mignogna voiced Junpei. His performance really stood out to me the most out of any character. Absolutely brilliant voice actor. Just with that compliment alone, you know exactly where's my stance is with Vic. Anyone else involved in that crap can rot in hell. I truly fucking mean it.
I beat Persona 3 at the beginning of this year and it means so much to me, I will never forget the hours I spent with its characters and world. It taught me a really valuable lesson. Tell the people you love that you love them while they're still here. Happy March 5th, I miss you Minato ;-; I will never leave you💙💙
March 5, 2010... it's been 13 long years. I'm thinking about getting Persona 3 FES for my PS2, since there have been mixed reviews of the Portable version for new gen consoles.
It’s the fact that you get to choose that you die, you get to choose to close your eyes, that’s what always got me in the end, in the end how one dies is decided by the self. But once I realized that the MC doesn’t fear death I stopped tearing up. And I accepted that, death was the end. Phenomenal game

After she said that, I was thinking "That's right! Just have people you care about who care about you and pursue your passions and you'll be happy!"
The way Aigis starts talking in a really human way when she gets upset hits me right in feelius cortex
M WHITE HOW DOES ONE MAKE A TOASTER CRY
It hurts me even more that Aigis keeps talking about how she wants to protect and care for Makoto and stuff like that, but doesn't realize that Makoto is dying in her arms. It's purely heart-wrenching.
It's Impossible *NOT* To Cry When That Happands
M. White I didn't know toasters could even have feelings.
I really want a p3 remake.
I think it's tragic that Minato's last words were either "Don't Cry" or "It'll be Alright" (Depending on the player). Even in dying, he's more worried about his friends' wellbeing than his own.
Shit....Minato is such a great protagonist. Easily the best silent protagonist ever.
@@mikespataro6095 agree
In the movie however he said "Live" telling all of his friend to live
I mean in that ending he literally chose to hold nyx knowing he would die in the end to save the world so any option where he's worried about himself wouldn't make any sense either way
Monaco clashes with cloud for that role
The most depressing part of this game, in my first playthrough at least, is how every confidant in the end is talking to you about next year and the things they want to do with you. Yet next year never arrives.
I smell p5 before p3
And sadly Makoto die after hear all Social Link's resolution

Dinis Pereira who cares dude
What’s even more depressing is dying right after Aigis promised she’d dedicate her life protecting him 😢
I think this game has a really clever ending.
FreshTillDeath56 "guess I'll die".
FreshTillDeath56 She's saying all of that b.c she knows the mc is about to die. It's kinda like a last moment farewell before officially parting with the mc. Death is a part of life after all, Aigis just wants to remind mc how beautiful life is in his final moments before dying.

That’s the beauty of it all. Even if you know what happens, going through it yourself makes it hit harder than ever before.
The intro keeps saying “remember you are mortal” “remember you will die” it doesn’t matter if you know or not and the game knows that. Making it very literally making persona 3 more about the journey than the destination

One thing I never noticed until now. When yuki opens the door for Aigis he is breathing heavily. As if he was out of breath just walking to the door. No wonder he was lying down on the rooftop. Probably took all of his energy to get there. Just to keep his promise. What a great MC. 😭😭😭
oh god
Man this just made me tear up
Actually, that breathing animation appears all throughout the game from the very start of the game to the end. It's an idle animation.
I noticed it since he breathes with his shoulders instead of his diaphragm which is a bad breathing technique. It's just a little animation that gives him some charm.
it’s confirmed in the movie 🥲
Sometimes I come back here just to get my heart broken again. The way Aigis talks not knowing that Minato is dying breaks me every time.

Period.
My favourite Persona is 4 but 3 and 5 are master pieces. What a series.
There needs to be a remake to where you don't have to have a harem to get all the social Links
All the Persona games are memorable experiences. Persona 2 Eternal Punishment is my favorite.

This ending honestly shaped my perception in a lot of ways. Mostly, that endings don't have to be happy to be good, that there's beauty in tragedy.
I love Persona 3, and the ending is a large reason why.
People who didn't like this ending didn't actually get the game at all.
+Jeipi59 What you mean by that?
Alyssa Rasmussen
Normally, people who didn't like this ending was mostly because the mc died.
It's heavily deep and meaningful
You can not defeat death, it's unnatural... accepting that fact is one of those things that makes us human beings.
Right?
Jeipi59 i understand a little but the words are too deep
i loved the ending, but i still wish and hope they'll make a game where we can save the protagonist he deserves a happy ending in the alive sense in my book

12 anniversary now….I played this game at the worst time of my life and now Ive changed a lot. Thank you Atlus for this amazing game :)
"You've been in a coma for quite some time. Yes, yes, I know, you want to know how long....
I'm afraid it's been....Nine years..."
I don't think he's in a coma, since The Answer revealed he was pronounced dead at the hospital a day or two after admission. The only part of him that's still technically alive is his soul, and even that's somewhere deep inside the Collective Unconscious, not in the real world.

Yesterday I finished Persona 3 and I must say that it left me worse than it already was. It's very cute, beautiful and melancholic the way the story ends and honestly, I ended up crying, something that never happened before with a game.
I swear to god if they fuck this scene up in anyway shape or form in the remake I will never forgive Atlus
Makoto lives, Alternate Ending - Just a fanfiction I wrote.
Conditions: Max all social links, be level 99, defeat Elizabeth, the Reaper, and Nyx.
:High school rooftop:
Narrator: Chidori suddenly walks over as the group surrounds Yuki who has just seemingly closed his eyes sitting with Aegis.
----March 31st----
Narrator: Everyone is up bright and early as they prepare for their last day in the current dorms.
I don't want to see this scene anymore without Karen Strassman in Reload
“Thank you, for everything”
That line always gets me.
Im usually a very stern person... but this ending... realizing the deep meaning behind it... hits even me in the heart...
Just visiting to pay my respects...happy March 5th, everyone.
I just finished the game and wanted to watch again the ending because is so awesome. Only 2 games made me cry Final Fantasy X and now Persona 3. Such a great experience.
You can hear in Aigis' voice at the end that she knows. She knows they're your last moments and she's trying her hardest ;-;
today is the day huh
all of your friends came to see you, to fulfill our promise
I am praying the new aigis va can deliver, cus god this hurt my soul on first watch
I stayed up until 3:30 am last night to finish this. I don't cry much ever and no game has ever made me cry.
... until now. 😭😭😭😭
You know the game good when you got spoiled and still cried hard at the ending
March 5, 2022.
Came here to pay respects. Persona 3 is one of my favorite games, such a masterpiece.
Rest in peace, Makoto Yuki.
What a protagonist: the only one with the universe arcana, rest in peace fallen one.
Junpei’s English voice is so good
Yusa It’s the same guy who voiced Broly and some character in rwby
Gattai Zamasu and Edward from FullMetal Alchemist
Vic Mignogna
And that's why this is the best Persona game ever
Even if it’s just for three lines, when Aigis speaks fully human, that never fails to make me tear up
i came here again because of the movie...
same and i'mm really depressed , i have a lot of memories with this game , most of them are sad
Ghostbusters Reject
@Jugo And then, eventually, you hit this scene, and then nothing matters anymore. :)
Best Persona ending song ever hands down. I still listen to it to this day.
this ending still gets me teary eyed, and its been 8 years since i finished the game.
its march 5th my guys. time to pay respects to minato.
10 years... rest in peace minato (and let's not forget minako too)
i'm not crying
i'm not crying
I'M NOT CRYING YOU'RE CRYING!!!!!
14:55 didn’t know this was the p3r’s title screen music. Very cool
that last part always hurts the most, right before memories of you plays with aigis speaking. best game I've ever played
If you have one you can also get FES on the PS3 as a PS2 Classic
@@malikaithehokage0607 What about P3P on PS4. My brother is giving me his ps4 and i was just wondering
Today is such a bittersweet anniversary...
It’s the fact that you get to choose that you die, you get to choose to close your eyes, that’s what always got me in the end, in the end how one dies is decided by the self. But once I realized that the MC doesn’t fear death I stopped tearing up. And I accepted that, death was the end. Phenomenal game
I missed the feelings while playing this game, enjoying the story and the music.... What a great old days.
They'd better handle this well in the movie, or I'll rage.
So, did you rage?
it was good, so hopefully not
*they dun gud*
They did ok but didn’t do the whole aigis speech thing and the end credit where they got to minato but it was too late and saw aigis smiling
they dun good enough
That moment when you realize that March 5th is the same date as Makoto Yuki’s voice actor, Yuri Lowenthal, was also born
