Hello! As a very beginner I really want to know what does it mean when you said “(multiple of 2)” beside the foundation chains. Does it mean we need to make total of 70 chains or just 35?? I’m really confused😢

I’m confused because the completed square after Row 4 shown here 7:39 is much smaller than the finished piece at 7:43 . It looks longer both lengthwise and in width. Do you add another piece or do I just need to double the amount of chains in my foundation chain??

The stitch you are using looks like the "crunch" stitch as I always thought the moss stitch (or linen stitch) was done with a sc ch 1 sc with the next row sc in the ch space of previous row ch sc on repeat..
I think you're right. I just made a Japanese knot bag using the linen stitch...sc ch1 sc. This is a pretty stitch, but not the linen/moss stitch.

what's the meaning of "multiple of 2"? I'm a beginner
Meaning that you chain with any even number. For example; 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12……..58, 60….100, 102. In this video, the uploader chain 35 and added 1 chain so it was 36 chain in total.

How is 35 foundation chains multiple of 2?
tell me please, how is it in this pattern. and what is multiple in detail, I wanna learn it more, I am not good in english term
so if you increase every 2 chain in foundation , you will get it bigger in this pattern
The pattern basically needs to start with an odd number of chains so that you can start and end each row with the same stitch. So if you want to increase or decrease the project size, do it in increments of 2 so that your foundation chain will still be an odd number. Does that make sense? I believe that's what the channel owner is trying to say.
Edit: I made this bag today and when doing the foundation chain, I increased it to 41 chains so that it could be a bit bigger. It worked up exactly like the video because of the odd number of chains.
For a professional, actually clear. However, if you're still in the beginning I understand the question. 34+1 chain 35 is the last chain to start the new row. At the end of each row we make an extra chain and turnaround the work as shown in the video. They are 34 chain for the main pattern and 1 to start the second row. She's already included them as a professional. The Viedo is showing (the chain 35 will not be used) it. Well it's made very good, showing slowly how to do. So I definitely have to say even it would not be translated or talked in the video, just by looking at it it's possible to make the bag. Congratulations to the owner of this Channel 🎉.

As a beginner that has been crocheting for a week and a half through learning from RUclips, I'd say learn foundation chains first and single crochet. Once you're comfortable with that, try half double crochet and double crochet. Ease yourself into things and I promise it will slowly start clicking! It took me a bit to get comfortable with holding the hook and the yarn tension but once it felt right, there was no stopping. I just finished my first project; an infinity scarf made with single crochet and finishing something is so rewarding. Good luck!
