  • Karine Polwart performs a self-penned lullaby inspired by a traditional Gaellic song ahead of supporting Lau at the Howard Assembly Room.
Soothing, bitter or even bawdy, there's much more to the lullaby than sending a child to sleep. This online collection of lullabies old and new, is a tribute to the wonderful performers appearing at the Howard Assembly Room in 2011. Press play and prepare to drift away....

Karine: Thank you very contributing this so beautiful vibration into the world.
It got me crying. I found it because I was looking for just the right Shruti Box
to use as the foundation for an invention been working on for years through many
prototypes. Called the Voice Cathedral and it has a foldable wooden enclosure that
creates an effect like singing in a highly reverberant space. I will send you a little video on it if you send me your email. alan tower

    Bee-o, Bee-o, bonnie bairn o mine

    Verse:
    I live my little laddie
    You're just like your daddy
I love you, I love you

Daniel Amendola in Irish it’s beo. Pronounced like ‘yo’ with a b stuck in front.
