if you take your games somewhat seriously you should talk about it to your dm, if they just cancel games for reasons like this it will happen in the future again. So yeah if it bother you talk about it to them and if they still don't do anything maybe find a new DM
I will admit that i did this for BG3's release, of course one of my players was gone for two weeks around the same time and two others also were going to be playing bg3 >.> but i still planned a break because i get very single minded about things and knew I would not be able to plan for sessions properly. GMing needs prep time outside of the game itself, and I didnt want to try to juggle bg3 and prep with my free time. It would have been unfair to the players to give them a half cooked plot or just wing the whole session for a couple weeks.
@@El_charaDepends on if they *have* done this before or not, I think it’s fair to cancel games once in a while if you’d rather be doing something else, especially as a DM
I'm doing the same for elden rings shadow of the erdtree release. I don't normally cancel games for any reason except when I can't make it even doing games while incredibly sick. I'm still gonna cancel that one and tell my players outright, elden ring dlc. I preordered and am looking way forward to it. Even put in a vacation request to take 2 days before and 2 days after off so I can start a new character and go through the game and dlc.
Hi Crispy! I submitted "The DM Stalked Me" We actually only found out that it was a module *AFTER* he killed Ninja if I recall, and went hunting for the materials ourselves. I'd be happy to clear up any questions if anyone has any for me.
Not exactly a question, but isn't Ghosts of Saltmarsh a 5e module? Just curious what the DM did to convert it for Pathfinder. Even odds the answer is nothing, which would explain why it was such a disaster, but I want give him some credit if he at least tried.

Luckily I’ve never passed out, but I live in fear of the day it happens 😂
Hey Crispy, I have POTS! If you're concerned, definitely see a cardiologist. Some of them won't diagnose POTS, but can at least rule out other things, like arrhythmias. POTS isn't curable, but can definitely be managed, and depending on severity, you can live a pretty regular lifestyle. Don't worry crispy, you may just be anemic. The dizziness happens to me too, but it's usually happens when you don't eat enough. Or when you don't eat enough food with iron in it.
Saddest part of Story 2 is that I could see Session 0 being used in a not-so-serious campaign as a magical DMV for character creation and laying rules, and at the end of it, the team is assigned to each other and a basic task to start the adventure, with various personnel from the DMV showing up as NPCs to help out the party, applying multi-classing, etc., each with varying levels of helpfulness.
omg the flashbacks to when every enemy had someone in their group with 30 passive perception ... _against a party of basically two stealth-based rogues_ (why we stayed for 2 years I will never know)
For POTS, it’s more than just orthostatic hypotension (drop in blood pressure from moving, particularly standing up), and orthostatic hypotension is something that you can have from a variety of sources (mine was gluten problems, weirdly)…but you should get that checked. It can be fairly dangerous to just fall over, and even a fall from just standing can cause critical injuries. I would recommend getting it checked out…I got a pretty bad concussion one time, and I was lucky it wasn’t worse.
As I saw someone else say, definitely talk to your doctor about it! There’s a simple test they can do to check for it as well, and you can even see a specialist etc if anything does come up. I have a similar condition and I only found out about POTS and other autonomic disorders by hearing about others’ experience with it online. Basically, if something makes you go “wait, that isn’t normal?”, you can always talk to your doctor about it!
If there is a “war on X-Mas,” X-Mas is winning. From November 1 to January 2 the following year *every* playlist and radio station will play *ALL* the X-Mas songs.
Christmas going through the first week of January in OP’s country, probably a country that has Eastern Orthodox Christianity as a major religion since some Eastern Orthodox still follow the Julian calendar for the church calendar, making Christmas land on January 6, since that is where December 25 on the Julian calendar meets up with the Gregorian calendar that most of the rest of the world uses.
My group has faced our first significant scheduling hurdle. Happy to say we finally are playing in 1 and a half weeks time, *HUGE knock on wood* Our group is I (DM) with my players: my wife and 3 others. We've been on a 3 month break. And the coincidences kept stacking on when we could finally finalize the next sessions date. First it was because a player got a new job so his weekends became more booked up. So we rescheduled around his new hours as well as working around one of our player's planned vacation. Setting us over a month out. Then I had a grandmother pass away with the funeral overlapping with our next planned session post players vacation so we re-rescheduled. Then my wife had a grandfather pass away, same thing and we re-re-rescheduled; along with the caveat that we had pride festivals to plan around. So another month out beyond the last month. Then I had *another* grandmother pass away, with the funeral coinciding with the planned date. Then I had a family event that I couldn't miss be rescheduled a week forward, overlapping with DND. We postponed by another 3 weeks. So now we're like 3 months since last session, on our re-re-re-re-rescheduled date.
I can see the arguments for not canceling a session because one player is missing, but I'll always prefer doing it. I've had this group I've been playing with for over four years now that's had that policy and while we'll occasionally miss a few sessions in a row due to holidays or engagements or whatever, the policy has never been a burden on us. Hell, longest break we've ever had was only a month and a half. We almost never miss a session and it helps people keep up with the plot. Maybe our group is just insanely lucky with scheduling though?
Oh man, that pots story. I have multiple overlapping conditions that can cause seizures and epileptic fits, and I cannot COUNT the number of times I as a DM have been right in the middle of a big combat or scene and woken up on the floor. Thankfully everyone in my group is some flavor of disabled and we had a long talk during session zero about the possible realities of having a DM with catastrophic brain+nervous system damage, but man. MAN. I sympathize completely.
Waiting for every player to be available to play is the reason why the Halloween one shot I ran in October that needed an additional session has yet to be finished 😂😂

That scheduling story was kinda wild. I play a lot of games and few folks can show up week to week life happens but OP was too patient and the rest was too lax in playing and their reaction to OP leaving is insane. I run 3 games and play in 2 and only if half the players can't make it do we actually cancel. If your friends get together and play uno or apples to apples or risk or anything jeez. If you are not and it is DND that brought you together play a one-shot, do an episodic kinda of campaign in between the the first one exploring backstories as a DM you need to put some effort into this.
Now i do use dmpcs to help the players, however theyre more there for plot and as a complete just in case i accidentally unbalanced a homebrew encounter to prevent a tpk and to encourage roleplay amongst the group by actively participating in the conversation

Guys, you WILL enjoy the Tenth Tomb! Please give it a watch, I will watch Crispy do anything but in my opinion the actual play is really exceptional content. Such a good DM.
The pathfinder ninja failing to stealth is weird to me as a Pathfinder player. Assume its lv1, 1 rank+ 4 favored class bonus + 4 ability score (assuming base 18 dex) is +9, you will on average hit a DC19 check, this is not bad at all, should be able to handle most checks at lv1 to lv4 or so, and that dim lighting helps. When i DM, at this level i assume the specialized character makes a DC15 check, while the guy that has a favorable ability score can make a DC12, i put up DC20 checks for things i dont want them to do, but will let them do anyways, but sneaking up on someone isnt this, its one of the core mechanics of the stealth characters in Pathfinder.
You might have pops, but you also might have this dysautonomia (probably Spelled that wrong…) Meaning your nerves don’t like the function most people’s nerves do. I have and it is truly challenging. I really hope you don’t have either need to drink more water have more sodium in your diet. WOTC out here partnering with *everyone* for their 50th. They just released Dead by Daylight DLC and I have several of the D&D X Converse collab shoes on my wishlist. They even partnered with Blizzard last year and did a D&D Overwatch Battle Pass that included Cassidy saying “How do you wanna do this?” and some real cute skins
@Traumatizing scheduling Maaaaan fuck that noise. A YEAR!? If a group makes me wait 3 weeks with last-minute excuses of other plans or whatever I start eyeing the door. 6 weeks, I'm playing one shots with other groups and have a foot out the door. By 2 months max I'm out. I have free time alloted to dnd, I can't just not do dnd for a whole year while running on "maybe later" fumes. 😅 OP should value their time more.
The destiny cross over armor is cool but I also probably won’t buy it. I was disappointed that the Hunter armor doesn’t feel equal to the other two. Like a displaced beast just isn’t on par with a mind layer or a fucking gold dragon. And I’m a hunter main.
“Santa Baby” drives you up the wall? Clearly you’ve never had to listen to “Stay a Little Longer Santa” by Shemekia Copeland. “Santa Badly” is ducking subtle by comparison. 🍆🍩
Scheduling isn't really a "skill" -- there isn't some special technique you can learn that will magically make people show up. It's just a matter of people deciding whether or not the game is a priority to them. I am skeptical that all these people were so insanely busy with vital life matters that they couldn't spare a few hours a week, or every other week, or even once a month to play. They just didn't care about it very much. They decided that there were other fun things -- tv, video games, clubbing, whatever -- that they'd rather do instead. Which is fine, but be honest and admit that's the case, instead of stringing poor OP along for a year, promising a game that's never going to happen.
I'm sorry....scheduling isn't hard. You go "what day is everyone willing to dedicate to the game? Okay, 4/5 people can do this day. Can those 4 do any other day? No? Okay. Sorry #5, but it won't work out for this game. 4 player campaign. Remind everyone weekly. Done. Not hard 🤷♂️. Make occasional exceptions for real life scenarios. Offer video call involvement when needed. It's not hard to schedule, and if your intended players refuse to prioritize the game, that's on them, not the DM. I can't run a game based on 1 persons schedule, you're either up for it or no. Nothing personal.
sadly our next session is cancelled because it overlaps with the final shape release and quoting our DM "I will play the shit out of it"

I don't know the shaders off the top of my head, sorry.

"Oh hey Twitter notification"
he he dat wuz me
Man how can I get a DM like Crispy, I've wanted to play a game for so long and the few times I was able to play years ago always ended with me leaving for one reason or another.
I suggest this company called Skratch They have hydration powder that’s a lot like liquid IV excepted taste way better. My favorite is the strawberry lemonade.
„Sir Guard, I Amin admiration of your physique, I can see from your enormous form that you must be an alpha capable of gathering large amounts of food and likely of giving me heavenly pleasure as soon as we are past this line…“
To the guy in the first story who says that Christmas ends in January. Is that dude from the Philippines? Because that is how we celebrate Christmas here in the Philippines.
Poor Nott being used as the art for this 😂
The art comes from a card game collab Critical Role did! Check out the OG artist in the description, there is a TON of art of Nott.
I’m starting to think that the House of Strahd is cursed, that was my first campaign and we never finished due to the whole party not being able to keep it up any more and it to this day never finished it’s been 4 years.
"A bit of a stalker!"
Just a little bit, though.... 👀
Has a Curse of Strahd campaign ever ended well?
1 minute in, already subscribed
Have session Zero guys and gals, save the Crispy Copies for better skits than "no session zero? Okay *fires revolver*"
Ooof I feel you about calling it during games. Like an idiot, during a small break during DMing my most recent *ahem* fOUrth EDITIon!!!! campaign I made the mistake of trying my new CBD flower I had bought from the smoke shop. It hit me *way* harder than expected, and I just kind of floated through the rest of the session while really high. x) I DO NOT recommend this.
PS: I also can't stand that Mariah Carey song. :P But generally love Christmas!
I am glad it was this and not the 44 rules crap. Been a day and I am already tired of it.
It'll likely be covered sooner or later.
16:34 welcome everybody to every DND players most hated show the dmpc show
sooo the group sat for a year.... then bashed and attacked the person who got sick of waiting for a fucking game for a year, yet no one even wanted to play........ what the fuck is wrong with people.
I was so sad because my server kept crashing. D'x wish me 🤞🍀 today
If a game keeps getting canceled just because one player is missing then that's my signal to leave.
A BIT OF A STALKER
WOTC out here partnering with *everyone* for their 50th. They just released Dead by Daylight DLC and I have several of the D&D X Converse collab shoes on my wishlist. They even partnered with Blizzard last year and did a D&D Overwatch Battle Pass that included Cassidy saying “How do you wanna do this?” and some real cute skins
bro dnd schedules be like:
Holy crap. Imagine criting so hard you nearly pass out IRL.
Damn.
A bit of a stalker
They were also quite a bit of a gaslighter.
@Traumatizing scheduling
Maaaaan fuck that noise. 😅
OP should value their time more.
The destiny cross over armor is cool but I also probably won’t buy it. I was disappointed that the Hunter armor doesn’t feel equal to the other two. Like a displaced beast just isn’t on par with a mind layer or a fucking gold dragon. And I’m a hunter main.
A bit of a stalker !
I’m going to have to disagree Crispy… Xmas finishes 12 days after Xmas day… that’s literally where ‘the twelve days of Christmas’ comes from
A bit of a stalker
...a bit of a stalker...
Maybe I should come back to destiny 2 🤔
Don't do it >_>

You wanna celebrate Christmas all December long, fine. Just don't do it in October or November. It's rude to Halloween and Thanksgiving.

Dude i want to let you know, a Tinder ad interrupted your video
Good news/bad news. Good news you do not have that disease. Bad news you have beri beri.
