The armored skirt is actually a fairly popular accessory among Mando’s. They usually used the “kama” to protect their legs from jetpack downwash as well as helping to cover the gaps between the bottom edges of their breastplates and the upper edges of their thigh guards. Edit: also, back in the time of the original Mandalorian crusaders, before the standardization for the streamlining of the war machine by the neo-crusaders, each suit of armor was made by the warrior themself and there were as many patterns of beskar’gam as there were warriors who donned them, and in later eras, each Mando had different martial styles and needed different patterns of beskar’gam to complement these varied styles and needs.
