I love the Messerschmitt- I wasn’t sure it really existed when it was featured in the movie Brazil, but I’m so pleased to see it was a real car. I’d love to own one!
"Brazil's" director, Terry Gilliam, was my 'bunk mate' in U.S. Army Basic Training, in March-May 1964, before he went to England to join "Monty Python's Flying Circus"! He makes good, but somewhat strange movies!
I too love the Messersmitts. I saw one on the road in the 1960's, the only one that I have seen. I'd love to own one, but my favourite was the 1970 Ferrari 512 S Modulo. What a beauty!!
I might have put the Chaparral 2J on this list. It had a second small motor to drive fans on the rear that pulled air out from under the car. It also looked like everything behind the driver was sitting in a box. Odd looking but fast and very cool. Also, Buckminster Fuller's Dymaxion was an odd one. Single rear wheel and rear wheel steering.
I recall that the 2J had considerable reliability issues with the snowmobile vacuum motor but couldn't be matched on turns, leading to a CanAm rule change that prohibited it before they ironed out the problems.
@@jeffthompson9622 I had a chance to see them at the Monterey Historics, but I was more concerned about instant homework (I was in high school at the time), so we didn't go. I regret my decision.
I remember when I was young a gentleman had one of the what are going cars in our little East Texas town of Palestine. And as far as it barely getting up to 70 mph, later on I owned a 64 Volkswagen beetle that could barely touch 55 mph and it was so wound out then that it sounded like it was going to explode and we know how many Volkswagens were sold. So I would not call a watercraft that drives down the highway a failure at 70 miles an hour. In my opinion. 👍🏻🇺🇲🇺🇲
I like the banana car… in Liverpool we have statues called Lamb Bananas, it half banana half lamb… they are huge! reminds me them! A lamb banana car would be good!
That motor shed seems to have the aerodynamics of a (wait for it) . . . Shed. In the 1960’s Car and Driver said the Amphicar was as bad a car as it was a boat. In the 1950/60’s BMW manufactured a microcar called Isetta. Have an uncle that had one.
Maybach. Defo! But my favourite car they showed here, albeit very briefly, is the Messerschmitt Kr 500 Tiger. This was a four wheeled version of the normal Kr 200 three wheeled trike. It had a twin cylinder engine which I think was still made by Sachs. They were pretty fast and were raced. An odd feature of the Messerschmitt was that for reverse you turned the engine of with the key, and then restarted it turning the key in the opposite direction which started it backwards! Put it in first and back you went! Which would mean that it 'could' do the same speed backwards as it could forwards! Wouldn't care to put it to the test though!
Thumbnail car looks like that little curvy multi faceted plastic demo thing that you see on auto paint ads and videos. Showing how the color looks on a curvy 3-d surface.
You forget to mention the Alfa Romeo Carado concept car designed by Bertone at 1968 before the Ferrari 512 S Pininfarina Modulo. Propably someone copy the design of Carado :)
I would have thought 1960's 6 wheeled Lady Penelopes Roll Royce FAB1 from Thunderbirds would of made the list. Build for Gerry Anderson himself is a full size replica, Built on a truck body R/Royce tried many times to buy & destroy the car. he had to change the grill badge from the RR to LP. It exists in some car museum somewhere, dont know where exactly.
Was called a hover board not floating skate board and they are larger than in Back to the future 2 but do exist, and now called a sky board as fly higher than in the movie.
um the Pink Panther movies came out BEFORE the cartoon! I'd like to find a nice CitiCar! I'd use better batteries like the Lithium Ion batteries Course would be nice to find the Subaru 360 van too Love to have a Modulo but as a LHD instead
At 22: 35, it's pronounced Sir Vival (as in survival, eye). THe car still exists, although in un-restored state. It resides in Massachusetts, not far from Boston. Interesting car, I've actually touched it.
Man the fiat 1100 is a beautiful car. But honestly all of the classic fiats in the video were pretty cool looking. And that Maybach of course is BADASS!!!
The Mike Vetter car, for all the work that went into it, is so stupid you can hardly see out the front window. However, the Banana car presents no obstruction to vision which makes it a much better design.
What is the CD (coefficient of Drag on this vehicle)? So far, the best for a factory-built car is around .20, this looks quite a bit more aero than one would guess.
Hmmmm, somebody included Donald Campbells "Bluebird " water speed record boat on here.....especially the tragic clips of it flipping and killing him.....try a little harder to do a bit better job, ok?
I watched a guy have an epileptic seizure while driving a Messerschmitt bubble car on a main road in Sydney. It certainly stopped the traffic!
It's not just shaped like a banana, it looks like one
You forgot the Tucker Torpedo and BMW Isetta
Thanks for getting a decent narrator.
I love the Messerschmitt- I wasn’t sure it really existed when it was featured in the movie Brazil, but I’m so pleased to see it was a real car. I’d love to own one!

That ETV is definitely a real UFO 👽 car 🚗 & also my favorite.
... Some of these are arrestably DANGEROUS.
I really like #3, the caravan, this looks like a very practical way of doing road trips
I want a Colim Caravan, that really looks good.
SO SHWEEEETTT...much love Tee with LIONS NAMED LEO.[the music worldwide}
and soooo cool.!!!
How did you NOT include the Oscar Meyer Wienermobiles? Those were at least as strange looking as the Banana car or the skate car!
ETV definitely takes the prize but the modolo was ahead of it's time
I’d take a Vetter ETV any day.
The Ferrari Modulo is stunning
Colim Caravan and small cars seemed something that at least make sense about their usage.
I too love the Messersmitts. I saw one on the road in the 1960's, the only one that I have seen. I'd love to own one, but my favourite was the 1970 Ferrari 512 S Modulo. What a beauty!!
The Amphicar 770 is fashionable in all time beautiful like Ford model T & there kind

Since we're discussing racecars, why not the DeltaWing?
You guys and those darn centipedes. I always feel like something is crawling on me.
The ET Car looks Nice!!..
#1 Bluebird, you do know the crash scene you kept showing was a speed boat right?
The ET car actually looked cool ftom the exterior.
That banana car made me smile...interested to drive.
I remember when I was young a gentleman had one of the what are going cars in our little East Texas town of Palestine. I like cars a lot
SCARY CHERRY. You have been told to stop the centipeed thing. If you do not, further action will be taken.
Thank you.
Guy asked me what shape car he should make I said oval triangle circle periods car on square ground
Saw an AmphiCar down at the VP Fair in St. Louis on the Mighty Mississippi River!!
I think you forgot the Stratos Zero Concept! Throw the Modulo 512S out and there you go!
I like the banana car… in Liverpool we have statues called Lamb Bananas, it half banana half lamb… they are huge! reminds me them! A lamb banana car would be good!
THE MESSESCHMITT KR 200 WITH THE HARD TOP SHAPED LIKE A WW2 GERMAN HELMET WHEN LOOKING AT IT FROM THE SIDE ! LOL
The EVT is the only car here I'd love to own and use as a daily driver.
Incredible vehicles! However I drive an A5 and enjoy getting into it every time!
The old wood shed though!
That motor shed seems to have the aerodynamics of a (wait for it) . . . Shed.

In the 1950/60’s BMW manufactured a microcar called Isetta. Have an uncle that had one.
The Citicar is basically a prototype of the Workbees from Star Trek.
There was a misunderstanding when ordering the "Pink Panther mobile" ... the guy heard "Pink PLATYPUS mobile"
You the best thank you 😊 you love ❤️ thank love

Potassium + Privilege = #19

My daily drive is an Audi 100 -89. Get some attention with a very normal, cheap car. Not many left on the roads as years go by.
All of the custom cars made in the 60's.
Where is the Chiquetta lady? These vehicles do not look safe or legal to drive on the highways!
Don't be fooled. Put wings on the Messerschmitt and ...voila... a new Luftwaffe.
Strange but economical
You forget to mention the Alfa Romeo Carado concept car designed by Bertone at 1968 before the Ferrari 512 S Pininfarina Modulo. Propably someone copy the design of Carado :)
in regards to the banana mobile i guess the road sign "slippery when wet" could be a tad redundant
It was a poplar car because it had appeal.
ruclips.net/video/FwGRXMAT_Mw/видео.html
Simca did get it at one point, the cars at year 2000 were going to be round in design
Sweet Topic
I would pay money for the ETV ,And never once in 35 years of buying cars have I ever owned anything less than 15 years old.
I also like #9 the Citicar, the later version was called the Comutacar, there are still a bunch of these driving around here in the USA
I would have thought 1960's 6 wheeled Lady Penelopes Roll Royce FAB1 from Thunderbirds would of made the list. the crashes you show with Donald Campbell's bluebird was not the car, it was the boat of the same name.
One horn rhinoceros in India, Nepal and some other parts of Asia called rhinoceros unicornis in Latin and shortened to just unicorn.
#sweet topic the design is cool but for it to be practical it would have to have a air bag suspension for ground clearance.
I'd like to see Grand Theft Auto online get some of these cars
Nice👍
um the Pink Panther movies came out BEFORE the cartoon!
I'd like to find a nice CitiCar!
I'd use better batteries like the Lithium Ion batteries
Course would be nice to find the Subaru 360 van too
Love to have a Modulo but as a LHD instead
#sweettopic i want an ETV now... need it in my life.. does it come in burnt titanium rainbowy finish???
2:00 Cool car. I'd buy that.
At 22: 35, it's pronounced Sir Vival (as in survival, eye). THe car still exists, although in un-restored state. It resides in Massachusetts, not far from Boston.
Interesting car, I've actually touched it.
Great video thank y'all for your time.🆒🐕🤔😁😊💪💪💪😎😆☯️✌️
that first car is a hazard on the road
Man the fiat 1100 is a beautiful car. But honestly all of the classic fiats in the video were pretty cool looking. And that Maybach of course is BADASS!!!
I agree I modifed a FIAT 1100 for racing in Australia.
Its a shame that we saw more of the banana car than the ETV.
The Mike Vetter car, for all the work that went into it, is so stupid you can hardly see out the front window. However, the Banana car presents no obstruction to vision which makes it a much better design.
a cross wind would blow the damn thing over
How did ya miss the Oscar Meyer weinermobile?
ETV+speed bumps.😂
How does #14 make a turn at a traffic light ? How'd you like to take your driving test in this, you have to parallel park it to pass
How do you know I have a Ford Focus? Stalker Alert.
The shed is big enough to be a garage.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
And a normal semi truck has 18 wheels, not 16 🤔
I like that car
Rip Donald Campbell
THE CITICAR FEATURING ROBERT DUNN CAN BE SCENE ON HIS "AGEING WHEELS" CHANNEL.
TO THE SCARY CHERRY:
**YOU NEED TO UPLOAD VERY VERY LOW RES VIDEOS FROM NOW ON!!**
l don't know about the other stuff but the...Scary Cherry🍒👀 scared the hell out of me🥵😰😵😵💫....Thanks 👍
1:40
I live in my Volvo estate, with two raccoons and a hound.
Send your centipede, see what happens to it.
Yummy.
What is the CD (coefficient of Drag on this vehicle)? So far, the best for a factory-built car is around .20, this looks quite a bit more aero than one would guess.
VERY FAR OUT!❤
The thumbnail ain't even a car its a COMPUTER MOUSE
Germany has weird humor
Micah
Wow
I found the banana car very apeeling
all that time and money just to let it rot
Scary Cherry ist the best
Hmmmm, somebody included Donald Campbells "Bluebird " water speed record boat on here.....especially the tragic clips of it flipping and killing him.....try a little harder to do a bit better job, ok?
Too many ad's forced on me to watch this. Sorry.
Where's the Studebaker Astral?
It's not Warchester, it Woostah, spelled Worcester. Ya gotta be from Massachusetts to know that.
The shed car makes me proud to be British!
Messershmitt. Even the name seems to big for the car.
A semi has 18 wheels not 16
All great, but you missed the Oscar Mayer weiner car!
Orberg did not build the Knight 200 George Barris did Orberg just copied it like he does with others
now idk if i trust what ur saying is true i think u made this all up
Clarkson is a fool
