One of the best skills and tools I ever learned to use was how to sidechain💯! My mixes opened up sooo much once I did. I really believe that all producers should add this to their toolbox, or at least have an idea of its benefits.
This episode is a little disappointing you guys missed the best way to sidechain in fl studio you are supposed to use frequency splitter and then use the link to a peak controller, it allows you to sidechain specific frequencies instead of ducking the entire spectrum, and then set the base to 50% in peak controller. Love the show please share this sauce!
Instead of the channel fader, add a Fruity Balance and control the volume with that, so your channel fader keeps its freedom. I use Trackspacer for my sidechain and masking needs, the same way you use Fruity Limiter because its mostly less knobs to tweak AND you can apply it to specific frequency ranges but those are great ways to go about it within FL 😊
Here's one I haven't seen anyone use when using midi instead of audio: Make an automation clip on a fruity balance volume knob on a sidechain mixer channel. Use audio samples in the playlist to shape the automation clip to match the shape to the kick length. Mute that clip and then copy your kick midi to the automation channel midi. It will then trigger that automation clip you made every time the kick hits
Peak Controller: You don't have to invert the link to controller. 1. Put the Base at 50%. (centre top) 2.Control the volume on the left side, the negative digits from 0% (centre top). So put the volume at 0%. 3. Tension basically increases how much ducking you get. Its like more than the -125% given. Keep it at 0% 4. Decay is basically the release. Keep it at 50 (centre top) Save that preset!!! When you linking a band from an EQ, not the volume knob - put an EQ on what you want to sidechain, so you have way more control of the frequencies you want to sidechain - you don't need to invert. You just link that shii and it ducks. It's really good when ducking specific frequencies.
In 20 years of making beats, I've never sidechained my kick and bass. I usually just find blending kicks and bass and I just slide the bass forward so that the kick punches through and I still get the tail of the 808 sub without it clashing. Sidechaining always felt like an unecessary step to me unless you're doing it for style purposes, i.e. electronic music and trying to get that "pumping" effect, but they make plugins for that now too, so. Cool to see creative and different ways to do sidechaining though.
I always found Ableton sidechaining easier but you guys pinned it in my head now. Sidechain . Also i have a question on other plugins like shaperbox. I'm still confused on how to do it with none fl native plugins sometimes the audio wont show up but maybe I'm sending it wrong to the channel.
I side chain with fruity limiter when i want something quick, but if i want precision, i use peak controller to fruity parametric eq2 nodes. Someone already mentioned using the bands of frequency splitter. Frank Pole did something much closer to soothe, for free. Too many ways to side chain in FL, plug-in or not
Good day, guys! Also you can do sidechain, or ducking with Balance Clip Automation in a Layer connect to the drum (Kick, whatever..)... So, the Clip Automation sound between that drum... In connection..
I really appreciate your efforts! Could you help me with something unrelated: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?

This is the exact video I’ve been looking for as of recent.
Thank you for this episode, love what you guys do, time for some SIDECHAIN fun time
New to FL this podcast is legit.
So many different ways to Side Chain.
Nice to see a different perspective.
Great Sidechain tips and tricks, don't duck out from watching this video, good job as ever guys
Love it bro , keep it up
Good SideChain examples..Thanks
Sidechain. Helpful stuff.
Always leveling up from Larry
Great explanation on how to sidechain guys.
One of the best skills and tools I ever learned to use was how to sidechain💯! My mixes opened up sooo much once I did. I really believe that all producers should add this to their toolbox, or at least have an idea of its benefits.
I love the peak controller sidechain, it's my go too.
amazing that there’s multiple ways to do things in FL so u can chose the way that works with your workflow. probably confusing for beginners tho
Can't begin to explain how valuable it is to have a sidechain in use.

any link to video explaining this ?
Ima need a tutorial bro 😂
I like how theres a bunch of different ways to Sidechain.

And they say FL isn't a DAW😂💯
bro nobody says that

These SideChain examples beats have perfect headroom
Fruity Balance is my go2 Sidechain, drawing the automation manually is slept on, plus you can route all your sidechain inputs to 1 automation clip
I'm listening!
Thank you, guys.... always something to take away.

Fruity peak flow meter is my first method of a clear and stable "SideChain"
But I might print afterwards and try these new tricks from you guys 😅
Without a plug in u can do this multiple ways. Hell even volume automation with the volume knob on the sequencer.
I like to pan it to side, chain it to kick. Drop down an octave, yo that's legit.

Kickstart plugin is a good side chain plugin for beginners too.
@@mreugenealmighty for sure. I think I mentioned that in here too
Instead of using peak controller for the volume knob on the mixer use it in the EQ for the 808
