A blast from the past! Toronto looked better back then!
Really great to see Old Toronto in motion. I usually just see the past via still photos. Thanks for posting this.
Let me send you to those times in time machine. 🙌🏻
Beautiful and amazing! Brings us back as Torontonians to a more innocent time doesn't it? Great memories ; especially for those families who can remember that far back !
Innocent? 🤷♂️
Awesome. Thank you so much for putting this video out. :)
👍😊❤️All of those Peter Whitt streetcars.... nice!
That was really beautiful. The ferris wheel was fun! Didn't expect that! I would love to see more footage of Toronto like this, but I know it must be rare. Thank you for the treat!
Mesmerizing video!
2:50, now it's Yonge and Dundas.
Amazing how time changes things! Looking back on these images reflects a era when people were more respectful of one another and dressed beautifully. Sadly our world today is totally different! people aren’t as friendly or moral. Hopefully society can learn from the past and apply certain ethics that surely held a high degree of social harmony.
Toronto is the center of the universe. It's great meeting place. Toronto without the CN tower is like new born baby with alot less hair. Love you Toronto. The best city in whole wide world.
I second that :D
CN Tower was an engineering gem! The city's spirit!
The centre of the universe? The best city in the world? What drugs are you on!?
@@musicus11 lol I won't tell you

Pretty much as Hemingway must have known it when he worked for the Toronto Star (1920-24)
Everybody gangsta till you tried living in that time period.
Que lindos estos archivos
Just goes to show, if you want to see horses and such, you have to go back even earlier. With the exception of a few, everything is cars...
First time I heard Toronto being called the Queen city…
VERY GOOD FOOTAGE OF THE TRUTH
It's later than you think: No royal York in 1928.
sharp observation! Actually probably most of the structure and exterior envelope was mostly finished by late 28, and they still had to finish all the interior rooms before they could open for public use in Autumn 1929.

"Toronto is a great place to raise a family. Or a plant." Buddy Cole.
well to fish
I think this is aimed at a British audience. Notice the emphasis on "Empire."
I know right? Well I am so glad we ain't part of that stuffy Empire no more.
look at all those people being out side on the street, sidewalk now it only 1/3 of it
I see massive Buildings made of Stone, maybe several hundreds of years old, like in europe. Look into the history of Canada...
What’s your explanation?
Footage around the time the Leafs won the cup the last time.
Ah, when Canada was called a Dominion and we celebrated Dominion Day.
What was Yonge and Finch looks like in those days ? Can my cow free to poo there ???
yes
Can't be Toronto...no cranes, no condos...
Strong Opening Words LoL
