Hello, my name is Ty Cameron. I’m in Avid archer from Southern Idaho. Shoot a sheep with a bow is an amazing accomplishment. Congratulations. I am wondering how far from last blood did you find the ram and what direction he ended up dying from the last blood?

We trailed him to the end of that range but at some point he had circled back and was about 1/2 mile from the shot.

Was it just birds that picked that thing clean in 10 days?

I get the challenge, ive been in the sheep guiding business for over a decade. But flinging an arrow in that wind at a 6 year old ram is pretty cringy. You should have had buddies in there the next day looking for it regardless of your schedule. You owe it to the animal, and the countless other hunters who put in for the tag and would have made it happen.

52 yrds in that wind, not an ethical shot sometimes you go empty-handed. At least you found the animal but I'm sure you were after the trophy and not the meat.

All hunters for sheep also want the meat , no hunter puts in all the hard work just for a trophy and hunting laws dont look kindly on hunters not taking all the meat , read hunting regulations ,
