One week from now, I will be on the Tim River. Busy packing and going thru my trip checklists. I'll be downstream of Rosebary, but it was great to see this video. It's got me excited for my own trip.
I am looking forward to hearing about your adventure on the Tim once you get back! In about 9 hours I am off to Algonquin for a short 5 day, 4 night trip so I am quite excited myself. I am glad that you enjoyed the video.
@@NobleEndeavours123 Thanks again for the dialogue, your videos and answering my questions on the Tim River. My trip was from May 14-21st. The route 1)Ralph Bice 2) Tim River (Lower Pine) 3)Shippagew, 4) White Trout (2 nights) 5)Timberwolf 6)Misty. I overall enjoyed the trip. The day from Ralph Bice onto the Tim saw me on the water at 6 am. I made it as far as the Farm Remnants campsite by 2 pm. I was exhausted so camped there. The next day I finished the Tim and camped on Shippagew. I did some fishing, was hoping for a Brookie but ended up catching Chub (I'm not much of a fisherman) Leaving Shippagew I completed the 1015 into Blue Lake and then the 840 into Big Trout. Not sure if I prefer that versus the 1465 into Longer Lake which I did in the fall last year. Thanks again for all your help! Happy Canoeing!!
I thought that stretch might have been a bit long. On a map it doesn't look too bad but with all the twists and turns it can really lengthen the distance while slowing down overall speed as well. Did you enjoy the portage after the farm remnants? I think the Blue Lake way is easier then the Longer Lake option although it's been 8 or so years since I did the Blue Lake one!
@@NobleEndeavours123 I loved my time on the Tim. It left me with a feeling of isolation as once I left the Queer Lake Portage at the falls I didn't see another group for several days. Its certainly a challenging river to manouver on especially paddling a 16.5 foot canoe solo. Tough staying out of the alders but all part of the fun! Round it all off nicely I enjoyed staying on Shippagew Lake. I've stayed there before but its a nice lake with a great campsite so I certainly would do the journey again.

Awesome, so of course I have to ask the question since the answer seems to be 50/50 on this. Did you love or hate the Tim River?
