It would've been interesting if Steve McGarrett and Thomas Magnum had encountered an officer of the Royal Australian Navy in Honolulu and be surprised that he was a friend of Mic Brumby, who worked at the United States Navy Judge Advocate General Corps on an exchange program for more than a year and that he got into a brawl with Harmon Rabb Jr. in Australia in 2000. It would also be interesting if it was told that Steve McGarrett or Thomas Magnum met Australian Navy men before those 2 men met in 2020.
That’s what I think a lot of people don’t understand when it comes down to the show. They give him crap because “he’s not Tom seleck so he’s not the real magnum”. Of course he’s wasn’t the original Tom was and cbs isn’t gonna reboot the series and being him back as magnum. The man is too old and not fit round 2. I mean also the fact that Tom is on blue bloods now sooo.

It would've been interesting if David James Elliott did make a special guest appearance on the Hawaii Five-0-Magnum, P.I. crossover as Captain Harmon Rabb, Jr. of the United States Navy and see the reaction of McGarrett & Magnum as they meet him and say that not only have they heard of him but also his father and see if they mention that Harm's father met their fathers in Vietnam and saved their lives there before Harmon, Sr. got shot down and reported missing in action there until Harmon, Jr. finally found him but far too late to bring him home.
Even if Harmon Rabb, Jr had been in this crossover, he would pull rank and tell McGarrett & Magnum that he's driving his rental car and not either one of those US Navy SEALs. It would've been good to see McGarrett & Magnum salute Harm and be very impressed of his military record.
Danny Williams would've wanted to take a drive in a Ferrari if he got to see that. But how would he feel about Magnum, being a private investigator and also in the US Navy Reserve as a SEAL?
If Catherine Rollins had seen Steve McGarrett and Thomas Magnum in a red Ferrari she would've assumed that McGarrett bought the car iin her absence after seeing him in the driver's seat, but ,Magnum would be staring at her if he met her and McGarrett would tell him to wake up. It would be a surprise if Catherine said that she has heard of Thomas magnum while she was in the US Navy.
If McGarrett met Captain Harmon Rabb, Jr. in this adventure, he would order McGarrett to let him (Rabb) drive the car because he outranks the Navy SEAL.
How would Steve McGarrett & Thomas Magnum have felt if their fathers met each other in Vietnam before they were born and that they were having disagreements like they did when they 1st met face to face at the beach in Hawaii?
Ok....first off......don't like how they had used the new guy from Magnum on this show.....they shouldve used the original Magnum PI .....it would made it more original and interesting and love how they cameoed the car again after decades of non existence......a nice touch to make the episode exciting.
I think Steve could probably demolish Magnum in a fight, but I think Steve also is WAY more arrogant than Magnum. I mean, who insists on driving every car he's using?
It was actually a running gag that the viewer just assumes is the act of a control freak, until eventually we see McGarrett forced to take the passenger seat and he becomes car sick and sweaty. It was a physical condition the whole time. 😂

I mean look at the Avengers movies Nick Fury is a black guy and in the comics Nick was white.
Yeah I can’t stand remakes and reboots especially magnum and macgyver. They had no reason to truly remake the shows, no one ask for them but it Hollywood so they must make a remake of a movie or show instead of making something fresh
Steve is a born leader ... I love his fights and Danno, although they are great friends, Danno is a pain in the ass, very negative, always muttering ... kkkkkkk. But I like to see them together. BRAZIL

As a fan of 5-O, I don't agree with you. It may stay the same, but part of its appeal is the chemistry between Steve and Danny. However, shows that stay on for a really long time have to appeal to a broad audience and stay affordable. If a show only appeals to a niche audience and it's expensive, it gets cancelled.
