@@CassieThorpe -Please include the Gucci suede Diana, it is beautiful. I once has a woman follow me around the mall trying to see what the brand was, but because there is no branding on it she finally asked me.
I think that this Birkin/Kelly craze is generational and also really has a lot to due with social media. Being in my mid 60s and having seen different bags/design companies become popular over the decades, I've never before seen such a craze for a Birkin/Kelly prior to the internet and social media starting up. If I had been interested in either bag, I probably could have gotten one in Paris back in the mid 70s to 80s. I have gone there almost annually since the mid-70s. But, I wasn't interested. However, I did get a small Chanel flap in the mid-80s in Paris and one that was only available for purchase in France. I paid less than $700 for it brand new and from the rue Cambon boutique. In the mid-80s (1985) the U.S. dollar shot up to as high as over 10 French franc to a dollar when less than five years prior it had been less than 5 French franc to a dollar. By the time I arrived back to Paris for vacation in 1985, it was in the 9-plus French franc to a dollar range. I bought the small Chanel flap bag because it was a beautiful bag and fit what I needed at the time. I don't remember any craze back then even for that bag. I walked into the rue Cambon boutique, not many people were there, the sales associate was really sweet and showed me the one that she thought would suit my needs, and that was that. Probably at least a decade later, I sold the bag to someone who really wanted it, but couldn't afford to buy a Chanel bag at retail price here in the U.S. The bag was still in mint condition as the quality was very high. It seemed as if the Chanel flap craze was really starting up around the mid-90s here. Back during when I bought the Chanel bag, Louis Vuitton monogram was incredibly popular and the lines at the huge Avenue Marceau store could easily be an hour or more long. I remember one day when a bus load of Japanese tourists pulled up out front. Plus, it was when both the yen and U.S. dollar had skyrocketed so the LV stores were packed and I mean.....packed! Thank goodness, I had years of rapport with the sales staff and could walk in and be taken to a different area and be waited on fast. Once a friend and I were in that LV store and the friend couldn't decide on what she wanted. Lunch time came around and they would pull down the metal grate over the door and take a 2-hour lunch. That day, my regular sales associate just let us stay inside the store during lunchtime and we had lunch with her and continued shopping and chatting. We were only three people in the store. That was when I bought my LV Serviette Fermoir briefcase which I still have and which lasted through the decades of my profession. it still looks great. I had a lot of LV monogram as it held up incredibly well. The canvas was different back then. My first bag was the Chantilly crossbody in the summer of 1980 and from what I remember, was less than $150 after the detaxe. I have a photo of me with it and standing outside of the LV store in Paris. I still have quite a few of my original monogram pieces including Bisten hard-sided suitcases. It is my LV Epi pieces that I have sold over the last 3 years. In the future, I wonder what the next craze will be with the up and coming youth. Greetings from Los Angeles
Thank you for sharing these stories with us! What a history and s as good reminder that’s what is hottest changes over time so we should buy what we like and most suits our lifestyle.
You're welcome. And yes, buy what you like and what suits your lifestyle and don't feel a necessity to follow the herd, so to speak. Greetings from Los Angeles
@@d.y.e3803 I'm with you! I got my Speedy 25 in the early 90s for I think 300$ in Japan. It's in the spa now getting the zip replaced. It has worn like iron and the canvas is very different than what they use now. But that was the buy then, LV or Gucci.
@@blktauna That old school canvas really held up. I remember forgetting that I had put my Serviette Fermoir briefcase on the roof of my car and then drove off. It flew off, hit the street, someone signaled me, I braked, got out of my car, picked it up, and brushed it off. No damage. Greetings from Los Angeles

My concern with the Kellys and Birkins: now that these bags are all over social media and everyone knows the price of them, wearing one is like having a sign "Rob me" or taking the risk that some liquid is spilled on them. My question for you Cassie: when do you wear your hermes bag in NYC? Is it only in a cab to curb situation or would you walk around with it? Aren't you worried for your safety?
Hm I think the point that by having this bag for that price usually you don’t walk with it on a street or in metro. u should drive or be a passenger of your luxury car by going on your daily luxury business and around you same ppl, your employees and your security.
@@alinaturbo2837 exactly what I was about to say. To have the product means you are already in the lifestyle. Otherwise, it wouldn’t make sense to have a $20K purse but still have to take the subway. Isn’t it some celebrity who said: when you buy designer items, you need to have at least 10x that amount in your bank account otherwise, you really can’t afford it ?
@@MissPravala is it the reality though? We all know that many people save for many years to afford these bags. And influencers are not influencing crazy rich people but middle class or lower.
@@fautpaspoussermamie I obviously don’t have that data. What I can say is that someone who needs to save to buy luxury is not a Hermès customer target anyways. And Chanel is now raising the prices to also make sure their brand does not lose value. With the exception of places like Japan and SOME places in Europe where the fake culture is simply not tolerated. You are correct though, influencers only influence the non-rich into fantasizing about a lifestyle that’s out of reach and that the influencer themselves probably don’t even live themselves.
@stanleychemush everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But it looks pitiful to buy an item copied from an original. Why not just buying a good quality no brand purse or a second hand original instead of pretending to live a luxury lifestyle when literally everyone can tell it’s a fake. Wearing a fake Chanel or Hermès while working a medium income accountant job and living a medium income neighborhood. It’s sad
It just seems like everyone has one because we are a bunch of luxury addicts and social media algorithms recommends contents that we are interested in. I live in a suburb and you’d be hard pressed to find people in designer bags in general (LV sometimes, Chanel very rare and even rarer for Hermes). I have Birkins but I always reach for my Kellys/Lindy/Picotin. In real life people just aren’t as obsessed as us nor do they care 😅😅😅
After my purse was targeted by an aggressive thief last month, I'm definitely researching other paths!! I love your mum's idea of purse jewelry that doubles as a thief deterrent!!! Love you both so much!!💕
I remember when you posted a video saying that you’re starting your Hermes journey, I started around that time too, just wanted to let you know I’m finally picking up my bag tomorrow 🥺💕
know a girl (her dad, doctor + nice family) who married into a billionaire global old money family - she has her jeweler make Tiffany inspired pieces to give herself + others and has look a like birkins, for most part, she has everything made by specific people she has gone to for years - none of these items have logos/brands on them and she has been doing this WAY prior to social media - with her, I think, it's about being a frugal + discreet person as she could buy out H FSH and way more! You did a great job on this video C, would love to see more! cheers!
Like the look of the Kelly, but nothing can beat a bag my mom had. Black box leather , similar shape to Kelly but the purse opening was the vintage metal hinged frame with push clasp. A true classic.
Such an interesting topic! I know that the quality is unrivaled, but I really doubt that these bags would be nearly as coveted if it wasn’t for the exclusivity factor. Thanks for another great video! ❤
Hermes has always been on top of game for decades, they can't keep up with demand, this week they reported they will be opening 12 more leather goods factories in France. I have shopped with H a long time and I think this global demand/exclusivity happened by accident. All of the sudden everyone had to have multiple B/K's and because handmade, H was overwhelmed and the marketing sort of created itself! It's like opposite of Longchamp pliage bags, the company realized high demand and for transparently said openly we need to outsource to China + Morocco + Tunisia to keep up with demand and keep price down - cheers!
Girl! I could care less about luxury items but you were the most entertaining RUclipsr I have seen in years! I just like to listen to you talk! Charismatic!!
Great video Cassie! I totally understand feeling like everyone has a Birkin or a Kelly, I live in a city of 2.5 million and I see at least 2-3 people carrying one every time I go into the CBD. I can’t even imagine what it must be like living in New York, London or Tokyo 😂
@@CassieThorpe this is a new thing. I've lived in manhattan for 30+ years and you rarely spotted one outside the upper east and parts of the West Village until the last 5 years. Were the bergdof wearers young or older?
Love that you did something different with this topic. I own a shoulder Birkin and a 35. My shoulder bag is the ABSOLUTE best bag I’ve ever owned. ❤❤❤❤❤It turned me from Team Kelly to Team Birkin ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@ 11:06 as a follower of Amber, i remember when she took that photo. She made a video of her in a friend of hers closet, so the bags there aren"t really hers. She herself has only 1 birkin and it's a lemon yellow one :)
love these designs too, I bought mine YEARS ago when prices were much less - I resisted the Evelyne until I saw in a favorite color and it is bar none my fave bag! when this economy chills out, look pre-loved, H bags (other than B/C/K) can go through phases when "not in" and prices go way down, as example no one was going crazy for a picotin a decade ago but now hard to get and price on resale higher
Great one! Google some posh place and see the tags and suddenly a ton pops up. Social media is not for naive and too sensitive. It's a fairy tale but to make us sometimes jealous.
@@rimun5235 Exactly! I can count on one hand the Hermes bags I've seen in the last 6 months. And you're right, the Hermes stores are tourist destinations which is great for our city. Funny enough, I saw someone with a garden party today--it was well used--- which I loved. Folks (me) gotta stay off of TikTok.
Well, I absolutely love the Kelly and the Birkin, in that order. I inherited a Kelly from my super elegant mother, and it means everything to me. But that’s all I need at this point in my life. I enjoy watching others collect, carry and celebrate their collections, and admittedly envy those who have the financial wherewithal to “go on the hunt.” They are beautiful pieces of art, superbly crafted, and whatever one’s reason for owning one (or ten), I say good on you! Enjoy! ❤
If its an heirloom its priceless but if its not whats the point of it really. Any other bag is good. Birkin now is everywhere thus the value of it is getting lower i think
I never grew up thinking I would want one. I am overwhelmed by the cost and don't see getting one in my future. I love your bags and when I see others being able to get them. If I ever came into a lot of money (or was gifted one), I would rock a small/mini Kelly.
Can’t lie, I used to be underwhelmed with Birkins but as time has gone on, I’ve developed a handbag love/appreciation so now it’s on my list! I have no desire to play the game though and will more than likely cash out the extra cost to get a preloved one in the exact color etc that I want! The plan is a Birkin 30 for my 30th this year so I’ll let you know in November 😂😅
uzbagx The canvas tote actually reminds me of the Hermes Garden Party too. Thanks for making this video to suggest more budget friendly alternatives. love it!
I remember a video in which you mentioned not being into the Birkin/not planning to buy one (that was ages ago, of course). Then, after a while, you were super into it. People change their mind, but my obvious point is: social media not only shapes but changes our taste. And the thing with "luxury overexposure" is that, to me, a Birkin or a Kelly (real or fake) are now (crazily enough) "basic woman/girl bags." They "tell me" the person carrying them is following the trend and most likely bought the bag to signal high status and wealth (real or not). Of course, that is a negative perception, but it's what I, a social media consumer, have come to think thanks to the perceived ubiquity of the Hermès handbags and their fakes. This is particularly true when I see a "regular" girl carrying one in public transport or a clearly non-wealthy person with one. I suspect the legit wealthy people are starting to ditch their Birkins and Kellys.
I recently got my hands on a Birkin 35 Gold bag for my lady... The whole investment thing isn't a big deal as say you buy it for £5k-£8k, the chances are you will only sell it for £10k-£18k, so hardly going to get your retirement pot excited... There are places you can buy them (off the books so to speak)... So you don't need to be added to a waiting list, only if you are happy to buy an excellent condition / used one...
I remember first noticing Birkins when Posh Spice started carrying them. Nowadays some people deem themselves to have arrived if the own a Kelly or Birkin. The billionaires of this world most likely do not own these bags, even the royal family of the UK carry Aspinal of London, Chanel, Stratheberry bags. It goes back the debate about old vs new money, discretion vs flashing what you have. I own 3 Vintage Hermes bags, none are leather and all in total cost less than £800. If you asked me that question 10 years ago when I did not have the means I would have said yes, now, but now I have means..........
Yes, Birkin& Kelly is a status symbol ! and if you’re over a certain age and you don’t have one you feel like you need one or you’re not a part of the community! That’s what pressured me into getting my pieces❤I have mini Kelly and buying b25 next and wanting a cargo Birkin 25 next lol ❤❤❤ but yes, all these bags are replicated they have handstitched bags all of that I only purchase my items from auction houses. I don’t buy pre-loved for the most part because of the fakes!
Great topic, in my local grocery store that I shop, LV , Chanel, Givenchy, Celine, YSL but never a Hermes at least in a small city that I live but then again I don’t go out much these days, only one person I know has a Birkin and she takes it out and I assume normal people don’t even know what it is 🙂
I love the design, but I don't have the budget. So I bought the *gtdupe* bag. Made from high quality legal snakeskin made by local Indonesian artists. From now on I never want to buy any luxury goods.
A history series would be awesome; please do it! The collections of Birkins and what now are fascinating, but I always wonder how much those people pay in insurance. Lordy I hope they insure those collections.
I think we all can agree that the birkin and Kelly are now social symbols. My rule is buy what you love. I love the birkin and Kelly styles and happily own 1 birkin and would love a mini Kelly but I’m only getting it because it’s what I want. If everyone gave up on Hermes tomorrow, I would gladly still be wanting what I want!
Also love the idea of a video on it bags over the years that have been named after people (especially relevant with the reedition of the stam coming out) and who they are, how they are associated with the brand, etc!
I am really not sure about the B or K. Yes, they are beautifully made, but they have a very “mature” feel about them. Now at your age, and especially you with your very modern style, a mature handbag is a very cool juxtaposition. *BUT* since I am actually mature, I am not necessarily looking to up the ante 🤣🤣🤣 But I have to say the mini Kelly’s in fun colors are definitely a young vibe. I find myself still spending lots of money on Chanel; for example my last bag was the green ombré mini rectangular- the moment I laid eyes on it I was in LOVE.
Also agree with some of the comments. In today’s society wearing a Kelly or a Birkin is very much in your face telling everyone that doesn’t know better than you can afford a $20,000 bag. My question is is it worth it do we really want this to become our reality?
Oh Ms Cassie I think you have opened up Pandora’s bag. Such an insightful video, ❤ how you have different content from other vloggers, keep it up girl you are keeping it real………🤗🇨🇦
About the investment value; if you sell via a reputed site or shop, dont you pay a large commission, so you have to sell it more than 50% above your purchase price, just to break even… not to calculate the money you have paid to “play the game” before being able to buy it?
I agree with so many other peoples comments! People want one because they like the feeling that comes from having one whether it's real/fake. An expensive bag thats hard to get is a status symbol, nobody is spending £8k because they want a good quality leather handbag. And nobody is seeking out a dupe or a fake without wanting to associate themselves with this idea of luxury and exclusivity. In terms of everyone wanting or having a birkin/kelly this really only exists on social media or in the influencer world because a bag that costs at least 20% of the average UK salary is really not common for the average person. I also feel like a lot of luxury fashion influencers wanted something to set them apart because they already have the chanel, dior, LV etc. but then now everyone has one so the bags really don't seem that exclusive.
I love them and either one is on my “One Day I’ll Own This” list. While I understand there are high quality replicas, fakes out there in the world, I can’t see myself paying a portion of the price of a new bag for something that is virtually worthless. I did that with a Chanel Classic Flap and have only carried it a handful of times. Authentic bags feel luxurious (because they are) even if they aren’t Hermés or another extremely exclusive brand. Thanks for another great video Ca$$ie! Can’t wait to see video from your Caribbean vacation! 😘
The game is the main reason why I have made peace with the fact that I will never own a Birkin or Kelly. I'm an introvert and do all of my shopping online. On the rare occasion that I go into a store, I want to be left alone and look by myself. I don't want to play nice with SAs just so I can buy a bag. I get in and get out when I shop. I don't like spending time to browse. As always, thanks for the video, Cassie!
I like the Kelly bc of the shape, and yes I want 1 bc it’s pinnacle of handbags to me,preferably a mini (TBE forever). However I would also get a mini Fendi peekaboo.
I love all my Hermès bags, people forget about all the other bags they make, everyone wants a B, K or C. Personally I use my Evelyne bags more than any of my others. I also love my Jypsiere 💜
Jypsiere is my everyday bag. The quality is outstanding and it’s way more practical than a Birkin or Kelly but still with the glamour. I want a Lindy next.
I feel like a part of the rise is also the fact that brands like Louis Vuitton and Chanel have such ridiculous price increases, that it almost seems laughable to think Hermes isn’t now within reach. As someone who is also a luxury addict (guilty as charged), I’m now at a point in life where I feel “why not Hermes” because it feels more “worth my money” than the pieces Chanel is coming out with. One thing is Hermes definitely maintains its quality and it feels more worth the price. Whereas Chanel quality has dropped so much. I also think since the pandemic, people have more desire to shop and enjoy with things becoming more accessible now. Loved your video and all your fabulousness! Keep being you :) ❤
I got my first birkin in LA .. After trying for years to get one in Paris .. I had to have one to get that it wasn t for me .. I was in my twenties and I felt ridiculous carrying a birkin .. Not only that I hate carrying a bag , the color wasn t right .. Few years ago I got a Kelly and I love it but I m done playing the Hermes game .. To be very frank I enjoy my other funky bags more.. Nope not me … if someone gave me one, I’d accept it gracefully 😂 but since I moved to the coast my style has changed and I’d look ridiculous on the seafront swinging a birkin or a kelly … although if you do, you do you, no shade 😎 ☺️ just not for me anymore.
Hi Cassie, I just think that Linked Selling is manipulative and also illegal. I would rather buy pre-loved than be taken advantage of in this way but I love my look-alikes and happily wear them in every color and hardware I want.
One celebrity stylist admitted that many celebrities wear *amzclothes* . This is nothing new or strange. And many times we see celebrities posing in magazines, and the photos for promotions and advertisements are given by brands or borrowed by themselves.
honestly i think the ease of the resale market and people who factor in the potential spend to get in your SAs good graces go that route. I feel that they were harder to get until sites like fashionphile etc came around. I kinda want a birkin 35/40, because i like the idea of the reason the birkin was created. However, i don't want it enough to go through the boutique route. I may try in paris when i go for my 40th.
I’m living in Dubai and it’s ridiculous the amount of Hermes bags you see everywhere, I’ve been trying to go there to check out the sandals but every time I go there’s a big queue (I go to the mall at least once a week), every single time the shop is busy, still haven’t had the courage to stay in the queue.
This is the truth. When Barney’s opened in Chicago my daughter wanted to go. Before that you had to go to NYC. She took off to look around and I was attracted to a display of handbags. I already knew what Birkins and Kelly’s were so I recognized them immediately. There were so many of them in the glass cases and displayed in a pyramid. The sales associate smiled and asked if I wanted to see one. I knew they were $5,000 so I replied, no thank you. 😂 I bought a Speedy 30 for $530 at the LV flagship on Michigan Ave. My most expensive bag until I bought the Marc Jacobs Stella for $1,000.
I was thinking exactly the same- photos can be photo shopped with one of the bags. RUclips unboxings can be more hard to doctor, but can be done. One can 3D print one of these using a 3D printer 🖨️ and auto CAD/ CAM software - except that could be a copyright violation, like you mentioned. The registration code on the Hermes bags however, use blockchain technology and will be hard to replicate. Think of it like a holographic image on your passport! Lol 😂- interesting topic- thanks 😊 for sharing- Amy
It was Gwyneth Paltrow as Margot Tenenbaum in the The Royal Tenenbaums at the movie theatre that did it for me when I was 16. I finally decided to start my “journey” this year. Joining the game but not expecting to get one.
I am more into looking for the hidden gems in vintage bags. The older Chanel bags are beautiful. The new ones look like candy. You can also include the jewelry trends with this. Why would I spend $5,000 on a bracelet everybody has??? 🤔
It's all psycological. They come from an old line and are fine leather. BUT the berkin looks like a diaper bag or a beach bag. both of them have closure straps that just hang there because if you are out and about it is impossible to line up straps and flap.
People keep talking about the investment value of the bag. I have heard that for years and I don't buy it. Only a few ones are actual investment. These are the ones with croc skin and other exotic/on danger of being extinct skin. The rest do not sell well second hand for a higher price especially because how many people want a used/old bag?
Real estate, the stock market, art… bags. To invest is to buy low and sell high. What intrinsically makes a bag well made: stitching, quality leather, a fine lining, a good size and proportion to the wearer, the design ( slip pockets, security, etc.). A good way to shop for bags is to consider these elements and buy a less well known or up and coming designer bag. My philosophy.
It really looks like everyone and they mother has a Birkin or a Kelly! I hardly every see a Lady Dior, a Bulgari Serpenti, when I visit Paris, but I do see Birkins and Kellys on every corner, so I prefer to use different bags. Plus the amount of preloved bags available is enormous, doesn’t feel exclusive at all!
Birkin and Kelly not my favorite styles but I do appreciate the quality. I do really like the adorable mini Lindy. The amount of manipulation practiced by Hermes on wealthy clients is crazy. I don’t understand why people tolerate it.
Sometimes I think Hermès is like the fashion equivalent of Apple. I got my Birkin only because a close friend was a VERY regular client of theirs. I went with her to the Hermès boutique one day, and while she was looking through their bags the SA very casually turned to me and asked if I saw anything I liked... and I did 😂 However, this was back in 2009, so I doubt I'd be interested in playing their games today if I didn't already have a bag. I got a Kelly Pochette on Vestiaire because the country I live in now does not have an Hermès boutique, and I think paying above-market price is kind of the same as racking up a purchase history in the boutique before one can get one's hands on a bag, so it would be far less hassle to go the Privé Porter or reseller route

No damage.

I totally agree 🙌🏽💖
Hermes has always been on top of game for decades, they can't keep up with demand, this week they reported they will be opening 12 more leather goods factories in France. I have shopped with H a long time and I think this global demand/exclusivity happened by accident. All of the sudden everyone had to have multiple B/K's and because handmade, H was overwhelmed and the marketing sort of created itself! It's like opposite of Longchamp pliage bags, the company realized high demand and for transparently said openly we need to outsource to China + Morocco + Tunisia to keep up with demand and keep price down - cheers!
@@notreallyhome Hermes is QUALITY ❤. I found a vintage one and they worked on it. My bag now looks spanking new.

I live in Toronto and I see lots at various malls. But also I have seen people in the subway carrying thousands of dollars worth of clothing...
I prefer Picotin and Constance. Eveline is cute too. Not that I have cash to buy ANYTHING at Hermes.
love these designs too, I bought mine YEARS ago when prices were much less - I resisted the Evelyne until I saw in a favorite color and it is bar none my fave bag! when this economy chills out, look pre-loved, H bags (other than B/C/K) can go through phases when "not in" and prices go way down, as example no one was going crazy for a picotin a decade ago but now hard to get and price on resale higher
Same! I wouldn’t go for Birkin or Kelly…

This is why it's important for people to get off the internet sometimes. I think I've seen maybe 1 birkin and 1 kelly this year in all of NYC---- 😂

Great one! Google some posh place and see the tags and suddenly a ton pops up. Social media is not for naive and too sensitive. It's a fairy tale but to make us sometimes jealous.
I live by the Upper East Side and also rarely see them. With that said, the Hermes store is crowded with tourists.
Thanks for featuring me in your video! But would have appreciated either a heads up
uzbagx The canvas tote actually reminds me of the Hermes Garden Party too.
This is really interesting - I’m so glad you shared!
The Birkin is nice, but the Kelly is so gorgeous. A softer Kelly is my total fave. Not that I'll ever have one tho lol
The Constance is STUNNING! esp with rose gold hw
❤❤❤I’d rather renovate my beach house than buy an expensive Birkin or Kelly. But if my husband buys me one, I won’t be upset, lol. 😂 👏🏻
Yes, do a series about famous bags and their history behind. I would really enjoy it❤
Great topic, in my local grocery store that I shop, LV , Chanel, Givenchy, Celine, YSL but never a Hermes at least in a small city that I live but then again I don’t go out much these days, only one person I know has a Birkin and she takes it out and I assume normal people don’t even know what it is 🙂

I love the design, but I don't have the budget. So I bought the *gtdupe* bag. Made from high quality legal snakeskin made by local Indonesian artists. From now on I never want to buy any luxury goods.
I'm not a fan of either bag. 😊
A history series would be awesome; please do it!
The collections of Birkins and what now are fascinating, but I always wonder how much those people pay in insurance. Lordy I hope they insure those collections.
Honestly Cassie, your videos and topics are the beste! Thank for sharing your insight and views😘
*BUT* since I am actually mature, I am not necessarily looking to up the ante 🤣🤣🤣
But I have to say the mini Kelly’s in fun colors are definitely a young vibe.
I find myself still spending lots of money on Chanel; for example my last bag was the green ombré mini rectangular- the moment I laid eyes on it I was in LOVE.
They are beautiful bags. I can see why people put them on their bag to get list.
Thanks for another great video
Ca$$ie! Can’t wait to see video from your Caribbean vacation! 😘
2 reasons- 1. Because they are the ultimate status symbol 2. Social media.

Personally I use my Evelyne bags more than any of my others. I also love my Jypsiere 💜
Agree! I wear my other Hermès bags more than my birkins. To me , it’s picotin ( my absolute favorite), Evelyne and Lindy!
Great video! there is no instant gratification
Also people buy boxes. Empty boxes.
It was Gwyneth Paltrow as Margot Tenenbaum in the The Royal Tenenbaums at the movie theatre that did it for me when I was 16. I finally decided to start my “journey” this year. Joining the game but not expecting to get one.
That is another story. Apparently Hermes then did not allow her to use a real Birkin in the movie so the one in the movie was a fake
I am more into looking for the hidden gems in vintage bags. The older Chanel bags are beautiful. The new ones look like candy. You can also include the jewelry trends with this. Why would I spend $5,000 on a bracelet everybody has??? 🤔
And it's not even a cute bracelet for 5K.
I am not a very big luxury fan but you are just entertaining and educational ahaha
It's all psycological. They come from an old line and are fine leather. BUT the berkin looks like a diaper bag or a beach bag. both of them have closure straps that just hang there because if you are out and about it is impossible to line up straps and flap.
I literally have never seen one in real life before! Most designer bags actually, it's not something I really became a tune to before social media
People keep talking about the investment value of the bag. I have heard that for years and I don't buy it. Only a few ones are actual investment. These are the ones with croc skin and other exotic/on danger of being extinct skin. The rest do not sell well second hand for a higher price especially because how many people want a used/old bag?
Great presentation, it’s certainly provoked some thoughts!
Sac a depeche……literally dispatch bag.❤️
Real estate, the stock market, art… bags. To invest is to buy low and sell high. What intrinsically makes a bag well made: stitching, quality leather, a fine lining, a good size and proportion to the wearer, the design ( slip pockets, security, etc.). A good way to shop for bags is to consider these elements and buy a less well known or up and coming designer bag. My philosophy.
Love the Fendi sheer top!
Nicely nice done, keep up the amazing work!!🙏🏾❤️
I would prefer a black medium Constance in Epson leather. However if I’m offer a Birkin I would go for it

Birkin and Kelly not my favorite styles but I do appreciate the quality. I do really like the adorable mini Lindy.
The amount of manipulation practiced by Hermes on wealthy clients is crazy. I don’t understand why people tolerate it.
I don’t want one lol .. is that weird ? I want the evelyne but every time I start to buy one o find something I like more
Sometimes I think Hermès is like the fashion equivalent of Apple.
