The armor helmet icon in the TAB menu panel allows you to click through the population to call to arms. No need to open each NPC and manually switch from Worker to Companion.
Game is awesome, a heavier combat focused medieval dynasty with some colony management tied in. Absolutely loving it so far, great video!

Its been a couple weeks since you posted this but in case you or anyone reading this didnt know; you can press R to command your companions, then setthe marker to a berry bush or mushroom patch and they’ll all just start harvesting their own stock of food/eat automatically
If you make the workers reserve guard (toggle upper right) you can call them all to arms (command and/or release them) way faster! 😊
Also think it was a very smart decision to make this SP/Co-op rather than an MMO
Totally agree. I think there's more than enough devs already trying to make survival MMOs at the moment. Much less saturation for this particular type of survival/management sim currently.
Hey. Quick tip. After pressing N and going to your companion screen, you can press R to cycle to the next companion to switch them from worker a lot faster. If you don't want to press R, there is a small arrow next to their picture you can click.
Definitely have to get in the habit of this. Going to make switching companion mode on so much easier. Thanks a ton!~

Amazing game and the updates are good. I noticed that people around the map are sleeping on the ground instead of in their beds lol
haha yeah I think the people living in those huts/tents out in the wilds usually do that. It comes in handy when you're looking for herbalists to buy seeds at night 😂

I like the concept of this game just wish the combat flow was slightly improved. Feels like a mount and blade combat
The flow is the way it is for a reason. As you get better at combat the flow will get better too.
There is pvp in the game?
It's been a lot of fun. I will say I wish you could direct your villager to only certain foods. The AI just goes with the best food available and when you have 14 ppl all the meat is gone lol. Meanwhile I've grown 1000's of radishes and other food they don't want lol
I know right, I hate that so much. Felt so accomplished everytime I would go out and hunt a bunch of boar or wolves and cook all of it myself, but the next morning after I dump it in the stockpile its all gone while we have like 150 berries just sitting in there 🤣.
Now I'll just put them in a personal chest if we're going to have a battle that same day but its also annoying going to each individual person and distributing the food. Wish there was a command to eat button along with your suggestion.
@SerMedieval Yeah, it'd be nice if you could make one of the boxes,stockpiles, and barns like non accessible to them. This way you could still stack personal stuff. But other than the food it's been fun.
I have heard that the villages under our supervision can defend themselves, is this true? Can you make them stronger by making tools for them?

I think this one could use some more impactful crafting. And horses.
Also, why did the npc hunger go out so quick? That seems like it needs a tweak.
That hunger dropped SUPER fast.
The more they do, the more they burn energy and need to eat.
It has super impactful crafting. I think that is my favorite thing about this game. It is a pretty big grind, but it is always SOO worth it.
The food mechanic does need some tweaking though when it comes to companions. It wears out WAY too fast, and sometimes you will have 10 different types of food, but you will see a worker that only ate 1 berry and didn't eat 3 full meals. It's really annoying. It would be nice if when you called them to war, they went and ate 3 full meals before running to your position.
The food goes down quick if you give them poor food. Like a berry goes away fast a smoked piece of meat lasts 5 in game hours. And you can just use the army comand on food chest before leaving camp. Works great when used properly.
Looks better than manor lords.
Can’t seem to get the liberation quest to spawn. Are there any requirements that have to be met other than being a friend of the town?
You gotta get to protector. It should spawn after that. If you're having trouble finding quests you can go kill bandits/raids for the old coins to sell to the village elder. Pro tip that I wish learned early on - if you kill all but 1 or 2 bandits in a camp and leave it alone, they'll respawn and you can come back and farm it again.
You have to get to protector, have a decent squad to back up the attacks, and be in the second tier of research before you can craft the bell tower, which you will need. Also consider you will lose every fight if you don't have the food to sustain your peeps.
This game is brutal hard, not to mention it's very grindy compared to Medieval Dynasty. I have a squad of 5 including myself and all are maxed out on the best tier 1 weapons and armor. When I triggered the Liberation quest for the first village Haerndean, my squad got our arses handed to us. The Brigand stomped us like we were nothing. Now I'm watching a bunch of tutorial/guide videos on how to liberate the first village. Seems like I needed more warriors in my army.
Check out the new mods, I just found a bunch today and they are pretty awesome.
But how to liberatd an army of 20 brigade, my weapon and gear cant compare to them
It seems you need around 10 troops with Level 2 equipment and armor. Definitely the Brigand attack is worse than the garrison. He was foolish to attempt this in winter. Higher quality food that will boost HP is a game changer. He was handing out berries and potatoes. These foods boost stamina not HP. Laughable.
How to you unlock the drying rack? I’ve tried to liberate a town and I got absolutely destroyed

I've been looking for that one too. We find them by going to the other towns and liberating them after getting protector status, but I haven't seen one yet in the first three - haern/padstow and the B one on the east side.
I spent a lot of time farming gear for them all. If you haven't researched the starting cloth cap/helmet, I recommend it. It leads to some pretty decent hoods with 7 armor and they're cheap to make.
I had 11 people total during this with about 9 of them fighting. 2 of them got hungry and walked away before it started.

@@SerMedieval yeah I spent the day increasing the size of my village to 15 and gave them all leather armour in up to raid size 8, thanks for the info I’ll head over there and start doing quests
Looks fantastic, but hearing that it will not play on 3+ year or older pcs... true?
Mine is 4 years old. It’s an i7 with a 2060 super graphics card and 32 gigs ram. It plays ok epic settings on my tv which is only 60 fps max

how do you keep all your companions fed? mine always end up leaving to find food even though i typically have enough food at my settlement to keep everyone fed
I had to put multiple types of foods in their inventory and even multiples of the same ones because they can burn through them pretty fast sometimes. After this video I put two farms up and the output has been REALLY good so far. I just bought seeds periodically and now it seems to be self sustaining. The stews and meat seem to last longer for them though, like it does for us.
@@SerMedieval What did you put in the farms? I have 3 farms and still have next to no food. I have to manually hunt too because no one is freaking hunting and none of my rabbit traps are producing anything. I have pushed the priority on these tasks all the way up, but they still won't do it.
@@Dragoninja833 I go around periodically buying onion, potato, turnip, radish and I think beetroot seeds from the herbalist and I put them in camp chests next to the farm. The past couple of days I've noticed that even putting flax on no plant, they will still try and fill the farm up with it. But if you put flax on number 9 (nothing else on 9), hemp and garlic on 8 for example, and the other plants on 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, I'm starting to notice better results. Still doing some testing but they for sure don't seem to be listening to the no flax thing. My storages are overflowing with it and hemp.
Even though they seem to be self-sustaining seed wise, I still keep buying the seeds every now and again just in case and to see if that will help. Ultimately though it seems kind of bugged currently.
@@Dragoninja833 Just thought about something else I might try. I might try and take away all the flax/hemp/garlic seeds I can find and put them in a personal chest or create a brand new outpost > transfer ownership of that chest in my town to it so that the workers don't access it. That way they shouldn't have access to any of those seeds and (hopefully) only plant the ones I want them to.
If you have logged the area or have too many traps to close they kill all rabbits. How the game works if you hunt an area completely animals will not respawn for a long time. Gardens are poorly coded you need a garden for each item to grow or it will become a mess. Turn on only one seed type per garden onions are great for quick food sage is needed for stews which give you three foods per meat.
Have multiple types in a stockpile then give army comand to the stockpile before leaving to war.
I lost the liberation fight, any idea how to restart the fight? Maybe I will have to put up a 2sd bell?
if they took down the first one yeah you'll probably have to and then they'll send a fresh party to retake it after. once you take that party down you liberate it and then they'll just send out other parties to try and get it back periodically.
@@SerMedievalso my experience with the quest. Defeated the brigands in town, defeated the tax payers. Large army was approaching but disappeared. No longer a red dot on the map. Had to quit at that point. Played again, the bell was destroyed, and the new brigands in the town were the OP brigands from the large party. Everyone in my party (11) died as I did. I respawned and cheesed the last occupying brigand then the war part started coming to the bell tower. They made it this time but I got completely crushed. I killed maybe 3 or 4. Long story short, I need to max out my weapons and armor. Disappointed that it glitched the first time when I took care of the town brigands and tax collectors easily.
@@lancehennings8657 did you earn bell wright status with the town when taking down the tax collectors? I've heard that its supposed to max out your rep when you defeat them.

@@SerMedievali achieved protector status to start quest but didn’t get to full bellwright level. I just restarted from a previous save because I ended up losing 2 followers after achieving nothing. But I also wonder if the hostility level affects what spawns because I was at level 8 hostility when fighting them again and I saw what I think was plate armor on a few of the brigands

Hey there! You'll have to research it from the advanced research bench attachted to the T2 Town hall and then you can place the belltower yourself in the village. Once you're on the quest to research the belltower, you'll have to talk to the elder right after you research it and he will start the liberation for you.
Have to be ready for battle before you talk to him though because he will trigger all the brigands to attack you, then you build the tower after and the brigands send a reclamation party to the town.
Honestly, you missed to showcase some absolutely important infos and moments about this rebellion, which is, as the quests itself, absolute bonkers to figure it out. The Brigands are marching on us and have not breaken free the village. As youself said, missed in editing. What about the Belltower, did you interact with it?`Why were there so littel guards before starting the rebellion, it was 3x the amount as i did it. And this goes on. Idk man.
Loved everything about the game but the Ai voices killed it for me
Thank god they added the option to disable the AI voices and just go text based, because same.

Aim higher. A LOT higher.
The deer are too fast in my opinion. A challenge is cool but deer are crazy fast and spot you so easy.

Nothing good has ever come from colonist work orders. Make a good AI rather than relying on the player to work the AI (Same complaint for rim world)
I think Going Medieval did a pretty good job of it. You do have to play around with the systems though whenever work orders are involved. Doesn't seem to always work the same.
Once you learn this system it is way way way better than medieval dynasty. It takes a bit to learn though to unlock its potential.
management is terrible but figures from snail games - man had to check every person to see who needed arrows
You can also go to your army screen and hover over them to see their inventory. It's a lot faster. Management is a pain, though.
A lot of the HUD could be made to be a lot more simple and easier to understand.
He could have just used the army comand on the chest that holds the arrows and they will refill their own whoever has a bow. The system works awesome once you use it properly. Works same for food use command on food chest and they all eat automatically before heading to war.

You can make everyone follow you then order them to build it, so you don't have to click all those dots.
The game keep enforcing the workers is the only way to play, workers is faster at building, farming, crafting and like the dots in this situation it is INSANE, no let me rephrase that it's INSANE to click all those dots, like it takes two-three in game days to build town halls solo. Stop being insane please, you are usually one of the people better put together, but even you refuse the worker enforced mindset the game want us to use and suffer for it.
In EA so far, I've found it beneficial to ALWAYS try to get workers to do something and only if it fails, like it's hard to make them quest... Every streamer seems to want to do everything and has to actually FAIL before using the minions. Not to mention it makes the game look bad, when you try to do thing the hard way.
Ohh I see what you're saying. It doesn't show in the footage but before I dumped the mats in it I did bring up the order window to try and assign them to it but thinking about it now, I didn't try after I put all the mats in. I was thinking initially that I could possibly assign them to it to dump the mats in for me. If I had known that I probably would've done it (although in this case, it did feel more impactful doing it myself).
For anything T2 I just haven't bothered to build it myself unless it was almost done. I've got a builder going around the clock where building is set to prio 1 and delivery as a backup. I learned like 5 seconds into building the town hall that there was no way I was going to sit there and hammer each and every piece in myself lol.
Yo when i see the dots after the town hall half done im just giving up building myself and find out after that the companion can build it to , im playing coop with 2 friends and my friends cant build the town hall
@@zachwilliams7180 That's super weird! There might be a bug with co op players trying to each others t2 buildings with hammers. If you notice the same thing happen with the next t2 building you put up and try to build with them, that's probably the case.
They'll abandon this one too. Be careful..
Just put a hundred hour in the game and prob finish it before they abandon the game 🤣🤣

I’m 60 hours in not a single crash, and I haven't liberated my first village and just barely unlocked tier two buildings.

Snail Games as a publisher is going to be a hard pass for me. Still can't forgive them for what they did in ARK.

@@mattclarke3671 not about being mad it's a out the fact that they have made multiple early access games that were never finished and this is an early access game. I am interested but will be waiting until they show me they can finish it and continue supporting it after.

Developer has a history of abandoning fully funded games. Every game from them is a risk to remain unfinished. I wouldn't support them anymore.
