Just bought bmw e39 last month...from previous only one owner...car was park and left inside his garage...first thing i do is ...change engine oil, change gear oil, send radiator for check up and service and lastly change thermostat....all done by myself...very low cost if u do by yourself..only send to friend shop to reset those service indicator and all now running good..should not depend on that temperature gauge..set those digital view at meter to see the exact temperature by pressing code 19 and than 7 ..what i can say is walaweii even single vanos power were great....just change 18 rim ori bmw rim and waiting for my m5 bumper and part to arrived....cant wait for it.....love it
One thing these 2 guys have in common is that their command of english, are good to hear. They dont share the same amount of viewers as those with Manglish's youtubers, credit to both of them. Yes, command of a language does make a difference
Man it's great to see another E39 in good hands! Oh another difference BMW made between the two cars, the earlier cars requires a 'push to upshift and pull to downshift' on the shifter, while the later cars are 'pull to upshift and push to downshift'. I am glad they made that change!
I remember the day i joined the E39 Club but with alot of hate from previous or current owners of the model and would point out that his " m package" body style was different not just bumpers and lights but that the body itself was lower such as the rear window and body panels itself to this day I'm searching for truths and thank you for the informative upbeat video!
I seriously prefer the pre-faced look with the regular headlights (not angel eyes) and regular tailights (not LED). Besides, fitting the angel eyes with the square fog lights makes the car look not genuine
The only body mod needed to fit facelift tail lights to a pre facelift car is where the globe holes are , the measurements that you pointed out on the tail lights is exactly the same between models.
@@KonWaiLuen Thanks, I'm 3rd owner of it, the previous owners took very good care of it, it's in new car condition and for 20 years old it's still better than most of the new cars on the market today, truly a well built car and an icon of the BMW range. Owning an E39 has been an absolute pleasure. I enjoy seeing other owners from around the world showing their cars. take care.
Bought my 1996 528i in 2016 for 500 euros.. still drive it today. Love the car. Average paycheck here is around 3000 a month i think so it only cost me change money to buy 😄. The only thing is that gasoline is getting so expensive.
From my experience by owning a BMW before..Bmw has a knack of doing things differently from Japanese carmakers. In the 70s n 80s that is.. nowadays I'm not sure. Anyway BMW will have a facelift or LCI as they called it halfway thru it's model cycle.pre and post facelift generally the parts won't fit each other..and those unseen mechanical parts varies according to engine size. Not only that along the way they change part without we knowing..until you try to order some spare part.Thats why the MY is very important.. Can't wait for the back 2 back drive of the 2 stunning E39
From that era, the 23 designation refers to the M52 2.5 engine. In the case of the E46, i believe they started straight off with the M52TU Double Vanos.
Refresh all fluids. Pay attention to cooling system, valve cover gasket, VANOS system. And inspect the suspension for wear. Transmission too. Ask if previous owner regularly did transmission service.
Welcome to the E39 club Chris! Nice comfort seats...never seen that in the Southeast Asian market! M54 is a better engine than the M52 though, much faster throttle response. Do a restoration...repaint the seats...what do you mean there's not much to do? :p

Yes! I’m always impressed with the vocabulary they’re using! And can learn from it too

Thanks for the review. I got my e39 M52 too.. everytime i drive him he excites me in his own way..👌👍
Yup. Started digging all your old E39 videos. Didn’t know Chris also has one.
The E38 7 Series also had option for these seats, where you can adjust the upper back portion
1st time seeing someone so much more excited than the new car owner. Or Chris is just speechless.
Good sharing, didn't know E39 has 2 different type
Chris has done it again, although this one is somehow unexpected.
Though, at this time I'm writing this, the video is not up his channel yet.

Great video! Good comparison! I had an 03 530! crashed it now a 00 540i. great cars. miss my 530i. Malaysia is a fun place great to see you guys!

Missed my e39 525 touring. Rare breed.
Thought you guys would showcase all the 5 series generations since I saw a F10 and an E60 (which just left)
Bought with one monthly paycheck?
My paycheck is only 2k🤣

Hi Kon after MCO can you do a review on BMW 320i G20
Would love to, yes!
Get the vanos rebuild, you will feel a big different in performance especially at lower rpm.
Yeah. You thought nothing is wrong with your engine until you changed the vanos seals on an m54.
This is awesome bro I have a 528 I am here in Orlando Florida
Awesome! Nice hearing from you!
The biggest change is the gearbox tip tronic shifter
I love the e39
The best BMW sedan ever made. Period 😅
Awwww yeahhhhhhh
Chris's silver hue is a bit different from your silver, probably yours is Titan silver, and Chris one is Arctic silver?
Question which engine does the 2000 BMW 323CI have M52 or M54?
From that era, the 23 designation refers to the M52 2.5 engine. In the case of the E46, i believe they started straight off with the M52TU Double Vanos.
Hi, am about to buy my E39 523i 1998 single vanos. Any tips?

Looking forward to chris and kon comparo on their e39's...
i’m going to buy E39… do you recommend it?
Absolutely!
@@KonWaiLuen thank you boss.. Are you staying in Kelana Jaya ke?
Out of 4 bmw the m52 drinks oil as well
Funny.. The M52 is the older car, but his registration numbers are newer than the M54 by a couple of months :D
Bro hope u can do review on f10 2011 which is the best to buy.
Get the 535i bro!
@@KonWaiLuen how about 520i/d
No known issues. And going for cheaps!
@@KonWaiLuen thanks for the respond boss stay safe!
just an out of this world question...which insurance company insures your car? because a lot doesn't want to insure 10 or even 15 years above car age
I have bought a car that is more than 15 years old for my son. Got it insured by Kurnia through TC Euro PJ office Ms.Jesslyn
@@alvinchung8184 my own car (17yrs) is under Kurnia as well, Liberty, MSIG, Berjaya reject lol..
Oh my mistake. It is Progressive Insurance, not Kurnia.
Bro just change your number plate size atleast like chris e39. Looks better.
👍🏻 geng E39

The M54 is more sought after, but the M52 has its merits too. Its conservative tuning means that you get better low end response.
Kon! Time to organise a bmw short drive!
Its a 270K only that we buy it 20 years later yes
See..Happy Kon, cheers bro
E39 Club! Best looking 5 series ever!?
