Lee, This video was really helpful. I am wanting to make an overarm support bracket for my mill and the upper support arm has a male dovetail in the bottom to attach the support to. The whole gib idea takes some of the pressure off of getting the female dovetail so exact.

Nice work, Lee. Glad you showed your pallet in use. I've built one myself and I really like using it. Thanks for sharing!

Great video Lee. There was a discussion on Facebook concerning adjustable parallels and a couple of us referenced your first video in this series showing their use in measuring difficult areas.

As cool as the whole video is, I pretty much knew what the process would be for making the gib, but I REALLY LIKED the Mini-Pallet Angle Plate. . . So Much Quicker than calculating & Setting up a Sine Plate for angle work. . . Definitely Going to be making one of them for myself.

Interesting and informative video. Thanks ! It would be interesting to see how to make dovetails that use a tapered gib.

Great work Lee and like a few of the comments I like the look of that Pallet you made, I see me making one soon and especially for angled cuts on smaller parts, much easier to set an angle on that than tilt the head on the mill, then struggle to get the head back to a true 90 degrees ;)
The dovetail and gib is something I plan on doing for a 2 part mill vice and a compound cross slide and your vids on that are very helpful

I have to ask, is this Keith Rucker in disguise! If you listen to both voices they sound identical? I love Keith's channel and have watched all of his videos at least once! Take care!

You should relieve one of the mating surfaces so it has no contact- the easiest would be the flat surface on the male part.

When you say I'll get it deburred, do you do it with your finger? It worries me how many of you machinist rub your fingers across sharp objects. Fun watching the video's though.
