- Here at Shedtune we are always looking for ways to improve our scooters so after a brief conversation with John at JG Scooters I decided to buy one of these NEW AF Rayspeed easy Clutch conversion kits. They are an upgrade over the original configuration using a rack and pinion idea. The claim is that it makes the clutch lighter and smoother to use. I decided to fit one to the sprinter too see what difference it made. It was easy enough to fit with only a small amount of messing about. Once fitted I tried the lever and was amazed! It was about 50% lighter than before. For me this is a MUST have for all my lambretta's. Check that it is compatible with you type of clutch fitted as I fitted it to a cassette style LTH clutch. Uni Multi Clutch Kit Rack And Pinion Clutch Actuator Easy Light Pull from AF Rayspeed is defiantly worth the money.

Another nice feature is the flats on the arm, you can fit a spanner on it easily compared to the round end on the standard arm.

It only needs a tiny amount doing with the Dremel, so go slow

I had to dremmel the case to allow for the taller plunger. If it sits even 1mm above the cup it will drag on the clutch. A few hours of fun finding that out 😅

Nice Russ, I was thinking of one of these when my AF 6-plate cassette clutch went in my Series 2 RB20 but so far it's actually not too bad at the moment. Certainly a consideration if things get too stiff (ooooerrr missus) in the future 👍

Great video. Helpful info. I really love A.F. products but I went with a chiselspeed version because i had to replace my old li style case side. Chiselspeed sell two versions of the kit with a choice of case side. One for gp style kickstart ramp and one for li, tv, sx

I’m really impressed with it
I fitted one of these to an lth clutch with MB springs and it’s awful, really stiff. You can only pull it in on its easiest position. It was worse with the original LTH springs. Will try the dremel trick next, as AF weren’t advising to do that when I first got this, although the plunger fitted very easily on mine.
It’s definitely made a massive difference to my 95million spring LTH clutch. I may be able to ride mine now lol 😂

Shame it's only for a G.P casing. I have a Spanish casing on my TS1 and looking at changing my clutch, the A.F kit would really help.

Why didn’t you fettle the new geared bronze plunger Russ? Then if needed casing can Go bk to a standard setup 👍

I had one of these and buggered up my side case dremelling a bit too much out. Much easier to fit the easy pull exterior one, and it's cheaper

Nice! Did you have a problem with splines cut into the clutch arm hole not matching the splines on the shaft? I have the exact same kit and the two are nowhere near a match (the small cog that drives the plunger fits perfectly though). I have fettled them a little with a triangular file hoping that it was just a few "burrs" that needed cleaning off the splines but no luck.
No I have fitted a few now and not had that problem…. Yet lol 😂

I've got a 150lis with an Rt195 kit.
Clutch is a 5plate readspeed with mb springs.....
How can I fit this????
I know I need a gp side case....but do I need a cassette clutch??
They are a copy of the vespa pkxl clutch system and the mrp vespa clutch arm ,
