Holy cow, Blizzard out did themselves. That cutscene of Jaina's mom seeing everything and forgiving her was powerful. Best one I've seen in the game I reckon.

I'm still leveling both my Horde and Alliance main, but I really had to watch this in advance. I like the way Genn talks to Katherine at the start of the quest. She needs someone old and experienced to talk some sense into her. Genn himself has lost a child and doesn't want Katherine to go through the same pain, not while there is still a chance to save Jaina.
The Blighted Lands both look and sound like a fate worse than death. I've always had something of a soft spot for Jaina, even during the Purge of Dalaran which in the end was Garrosh's fault, but seeing all those past decisions torment her makes me feel for her more. She is easily the most human character in the entire story. When Katherine sees all the shit Jaina has been through and hugs her, I almost cried. It was like one of those really emotional, tear- jerking moments in an anime, something we haven't really seen in WoW.
Then we get to the Siege of Boralus. Jaina uses her father's pendant to call back the missing fleet with TANDRED FREAKIN' PROUDMORE at the helm, who just a month ago was non- canon. And to top it all, we have Bolvar's daughter confirmed. This is a great ending to the Alliance story in Kul Tiras. Good job, Blizzard, and thank you, Nobbel, for this video!

That cinematic of Jaina's mother witnessing her memories really moved me... best in-game wow cinematic yet. The only cinematic that comes even close to it is Ysera's death.

I spent 3 days reflexing and crying in some moments xDD
I cried at both scenes.
The storyline is so amazing that i actually had to shed tears, exactly at those two moments. Its so amazing, the visions, the fleet, the revelation of Taelia, everything!
I got to know about Taelia before through some amazing people at Nobbel's stream, but when I saw this, OMG! The big smile with watery eyes, so cool!
I always cry when they show us Arthas.. He did nothing wrong and yet suffered so much...

Killed thousand of citizen, murder mercenary that himself engage, betrayed his kingdom, father, mentors, friends. Destroyed an old allied nations, the sun well, torture plenty of the people he had killed. Steal thousand soul in his blade, making them trap in it.
All that before he was even the lichking and in some he was still human.
I am blood red Horde but I have always liked Jaina and grieved for her when Theramore was bombed. I rejoiced when she and Kalec got together and saddened when she left the Kirin Tor when we went joined together to battle against the Legion. In beta, I deliberate rolled an Alliance character (Dark Iron paladin - highly recommend!!) so I could see if I could reunite her mother and her. It does my heart good to see the ending of this tale and that she and her mother are indeed reconciled and Jaina has found her place.
I just hope Jaina and Kalec will be together again

They really need to fix that human talking animation as far to often it looks like a snake dislocating it’s jaw or that bit from the Brendan Fraser mummy.

I really hope we haven't seen the last of the Blighted Lands and Gorak Tul. He's got the same VA as Diablo in HOTS which is awesome, and I'd love to get more lore on this new part of the world of WoW.

Story on the Horde's side was amazing too. I'm just tired of seeing good endings and I feel like the Hordies are having fun not knowing what will happen to the Zandalari empire because of G'huun.

But there was so many bloodshed on the Horde's side and well I'm a girl occasionally I'm a sucker for a nice ending. Doesn't mean I'll stop playing my Troll Shaman
I play horde too but after watching this video I did get a little choked up with the reveal that she was Bolvars daughter. I think because Horde's storyline is mostly new stuff but all the alliance are like heavy ties to the Warcraft history.
please dont misunderstand me on this.. its not about horde or ally ... i just felt the ally story is bad.. this video is the ally's WHOLE story line.. I did not like it .. and also, i was really upset because they did not make her hair full blonde in the cutscene with the lich king..

I hope someone makes Katherine Proudmoore's costume for the Cosplay Contest at Blizzcon. I would love to make it myself. and Jaina's new outfit too is going to look awesome as cosplay
I got some serious disney vibes from her and the Ashvane woman... Katherine reminds me of Cinderella's step-mother and Priscilla reminds me of Ursula. Not sure why, they just look so much alike stylistically.

I always watch these so I can just rush through the stories and quests in-game and level faster. This way I never miss out on anything.
My first toon to experience new content is always my longest to level for that exact reason i read every little detail in the quest text.

Watching this......it actually brought tears to my eyes. It......actually made me cry. Something near impossible to occur anymore. I can no longer shed tears of any kind 99% of the time. So that tells you just how heartfelt and how touching this truly is. An absolute masterpiece, Blizzard. An absolute masterpiece of a story. Goddamn.

Hope that happens at some point. Would be interesting a story line between Anduin, Tealia and Bolvar back on top of Icecrown Citadel. Just a short questline, or just a comic or cinematic would work too.

First time I heard that I couldn't stop laughing.
Katherine Proudmoore is a fantastic character who's arc throughout the story-line changes and develops so well. Jaina basically stays the same, but Katherine went from having lost everything and her entire family (Tandred lost with the fleet, Daelin dead, Jaina exiled, Derek dead) to realising her daughter had come home, and in embracing that she got Tandred back too. I really hope they keep Katherine around and she doesn't fade in history like Yrel.
Btw to put into perspective how powerful the kul'tiran ships are: the real world version of those ships are called A Ship of the Line, examples people may remember are the Dauntless and the Endeavor from Pirates of the Caribbean, with 100-110 cannons spread across 3-4 decks for whats called a "First Rate Ship of the Line".
Those ships one broadside was over 1000 pounds of force. A full broadside from a 1st rate ship of the line was enough to reduce almost any ship to literally splinters in seconds. They were pretty slow due to their massive size, but due to their sheer firepower they were the most powerful ships at that time.
(They are called a "ship of the line" as theyd literally line them up in a blockade basically and have all of them and their support ships fire on the enemy all at once)
The kul'tiran fleet is entirely made up of these kind of ships. And that is why Ashvane surrendered.
This all feels like an awesome pirates of the Caribbean movie. At least the story anyway.
Blighted lands feels like a place arthas would’ve been at.

Grey World she does. In a quest in tiragarde with flynn (before going to the area with the sirens) you read a note from the ashvane company saying that theyd sent some of the first batch of stabilized azerite (for transport) to boralus in the form of a large necklace

Excellent work, you always bring so much nuance and feeling into the lore. I think you have the world's largest stockpile of Warcraft footage and images to bring your videos into life. Us watchers thank you for not talking over a revolving set of 3 images for a half hour. Truly amazing work here and on all your released content. Keep them coming Sir Nobbel.

You missed a bit of dialogue.
When you leave fate’s end by riding back with brother pike. He talks about how he relates with Jaina and why Kul Tirans should forgive her.
Funny side note: a female Kul Tiran /silly emote is "I forgave Jaina for all she's done, but I cannot forgive her for losing her accent." 😂

This was utterly fantastic. Excellent storytelling so many lore bombs and easter eggs. I doubt the Horde story could even come close.
Thank you blizz for giving us a story worth being a part of unlike the horde side where its all about betrayal and hatred. And thank you Nobbel for giving it to us in a story fashion so we can see the entire thing at one time not broken into many pieces. Bravo!
Sure, I'm sure there is plenty that people can find to nitpick, but damned if this isn't some of the best storytelling blizzard has managed to date. I can't wait until I manage to unlock the full quest in game.
I laugh at all the people who were saying Jaina was crazy and a bitch for wanting to dismantle the horde...LOL, look at what her "PEACE" and "TRUST" got her..hahahhahaha She is one of the most human characters in Warcraft.
Also I applaude blizzard for the writing in showing the psychological anguish that defined jaina, the story was really good.

What?? Genn attacked unprovoked? Did u not see the UNPROVOKED Siege of Gilneas? Sylvanas used the plague on Gilneans villagers and Southshore Villagers, she turned Southshore into a plagued waste, there was literal auchwitz death camps in hillsbrad that experimented on innocent villagers to improve the plague.
Sylvanas sacked gilneas and killed Genn's son...so wth are u talking about...Genn had every right and reason to stop Sylvanas from getting her selfish desire of immortality (especially when it was coming at the cost of a potential ally agaisnt the legion, the valkyr).
Also no not a few ppl...every leader of the horde was complicit in the bombing of theramore and the burning of the world tree. They stood aside and did nothing. Thrall the very man who she let her father die for abandoned her at Theramore when she asked for his help.
So yea...she didnt act like a cunt, she acted like a normal HUMAN who wanted vengeance after being fucked over so many times by HYPOCRITES.

Are you even keeping up with the story or is this all in your head? Horde (at least Sylvanas) is acting in aggressive manner towards alliance. They have no reason to go along with Sylvanas but they follow her anyway. Need to reread some of the lore or watch nobbels lore videos

This is sooo good, I have no words! several months after, to whoever made this, wrote this, thank you! Really gets an insight to Jainas perspective, her intensions were good, howere she did infact do everyting wrong. I get goosebumbs every damn time watching this, especially the cinematic with Arthas.
The story of the Tidesages, oh god how much I love it! Shrine of the storm is my favorite because of it's music and bosses/mechanics.

-Introduction of Bolvar's daughter, Taelia Fordragon
-King Rastakhan quoting Ner'zhul, "I have taken care of everything."
-Arthas appearing in Jaina's Nightmares
-Warcraft 3 Camera Angles in the Alliance Battle for Lordaeron cinematics
-Anduin's resemblence to Arthas (Anduin opening the Lordaeron throne room doors)
-Sylvanas recruiting the San'layn into the Horde.
-Saurfang's son: Dranosh appearing in the "Old Soldier" cinematic.
Its all connected man.

Dude. I recently finished this storyline. The cinematic after Siege of Boralus gives me goosebumps every time I see it. This is some of the best storytelling I've seen in a game. I'm looking forward to playing Horde side and what story unravels there.
28:59 so the guy behind her, me and the people on the discord I frequent spent quite a bit of time trying to work out who it is and as we only have a shoulder pad to go on it’s hard work, but it looks like it may be Bolivar or someone wearing the same armour set that he had at the wrathgate, he is the only big name that we could find that had that set so odds are it’s him now the interesting part is the cinematic team seam to have gone out of their way to hide this one person and it lines up with another idea this discord has that a lot of the stuff happening in BFA is the third Lichking (aka Bolivar or what’s left of his mind inside the LK) moving pieces into place so that when he finally makes his move we will be too weak to fight back, and with almost all the leaders been mentally unstable at the start of BFA it would be easy to poke some of them in the direction he wants them to go, a vision of their dead farther here condemning them for one and encouraging the young prince for the other, dropping a seed of an idea that the alliance will attack you sooner or later for syl, nothing too big as to be noticed as it’s not quite time, all the pieces are still moving and he only wants the fight to start when he knows he will win, it’s just a theory bit it would be fun if it’s true we know the LK is planning something, if you played the DK campaign in legion as a frost you see a echo of the second LK showing up from time to time holding a big sign saying this is a warning sign but at that point it’s probably too late for the Ebon blade as all the DKs are like that horrible thing the LK just “”asked”” us to do? Doesn’t It sound like a great idea?
Also while I don’t think this quest is in canon when you do the postmasters quest in legion you return to the top of icecrown to do a job and the thrown is sitting empty with no sign of Bolivar, when I saw this I was like wait is this blizz hinting that the Lichking is on the move? I mean based on how long Arthas was on ice before Wrath started Bolivar was due to be up and about at the start of legion (it looks like it takes about five years to fully become the new LK) or is it just they didn’t think to add him? A very unblizzard thing to do, it’s not like he is a Dwarf.
@deenman23 but to jaina she did fail to save bolvar, to her if she had somehow talked Arthas out of the culling or maybe tryed harder at icecrown she could have saved him and all the others or if she had been there when we took out the LK she could have taken the crown or destroyed it, if she had just tryed harder.
Now we know she did all she could back then because our minds are fine but jainas is so broken it looks like a jigsaw puzzle.
Taking or destroying the crown would've been a VERY bad idea. It's in the cinematic for Wrath, "There must always be a Lich King." Otherwise the scourge would be uncontrollable/unstoppable.

Just wanna say, you're the best WoW lore channel out there.
Edit: aah, now that it's done and I heard the story from You, it now truly feels complete. Kul Tiras has become my very favourite place, and everything is just... Tidesages, the Drust, the Blighted Lands, this specific side of Druidism! Honestly, when the Zandalari Loa druidism (it's what I heard please don't kill me) was revealed, my jaw dropped like pretty much every elses', they are so cool. But this, the dichotomy of Life and Death present within Nature, I have to say that Kul'Tiran, Drust-inspired, and I can't believe I'm about to say this, human druidism is my favourite specifications within a class of them all.
And Jaina, sweet, poor, troubled Jaina, the Daugther of the Sea, and now Lord Admiral of Kul'Tiras... I am so proud of her, I really can't express it otherwise, and watching it all at once was a real punch right in the gut... making the triumpht all the greatest. It's the fifth time or so I see her torture in Thos, and it still made me cry down in grief. It's the third time I see the hopeful beacon, the Pride of Kul'Tiras, shine and call the fleet back home, and I still feel such overwhelming satisfaction at the family reunion (the detail about her brother makes it all the better now, I had no bloody idea who that guy was)
All I can really ask for, is for the original, or at least a happy/prideful, version of the shanty to come out. That song will go down as one of the best Blizzard has ever laid claim to, but it'd just be all the more beautiful to have a version we could sing to in pride.
Infinity out of ten from me, I haven't felt such a strong connection to a story in a while. Nobbel, if you read, then know I for one would be ever so glad to see the videos on every zone inbetween the intro to Kul'Tiras and this fantastic ending.
The music in this storyline gives me chills everytime.

I finished this storyline last week and loved it. I was so excited to to see this video so I can re visit it again. I will still be doing it like 5 more times, but extra info put into these is so nice to refer to.

As much as I support the Horde's conquest over the Alliance, I feel very bad for Jaina. She's had a target painted on her back her whole life and she never deserved any of the horrible things done specifically to her. I'm glad she's found happiness again.

I I just finished all 3 stroy lines and the ending to the Alliance story in Kul Tiras and my god was it worth doing all of it

28:54 I've been watching some old cinematics recently and i think that the shoulder behind Jaina is Bolvar's. I honestly think he is playing a huge role really, reaaally soon, with him being "hinted" in this cinematic, the original conection between Yogg'Saron and his trnsformation into the Lich King and Taelia being introduced in the story.
now she just need a redesigned Kalec coming back like a Chad for her to have a happy ending

First wow story that nearly made me cry, especially Katherine's forgiveness and Jainas guilt scene. Grade A++ storytelling
It's very cool that they really added Jainas brothers into the game, even though one of them are already dead. I would love to see more of Tandred in the future patches, I guess he will be one of the people leading the fleet against the Horde.
My theory is that the "Blighted Lands" is in fact the Emerald dream of Kul'tiras. You see since the local druids are closer to the death side of things as Nobbel put it, it would stand to reason that the reflection of the land of Kul'tiras would take on a more darker reflection as to reflect the local caretaker's powers

Holy shit, when she summoned the ships and the captain screamed ''LETS SHOW EM WHAT KUL TIRANS ARE MADE OF!'' I got fucking goosebumps. Best scene in this story. *SPARTANS, WHAT ARE YOUR PROFESSIONS!?*

Very cool story though. I was gonna make an ally alt but my horde main takes so much dang time with all the wq's and such that it became clear I wouldn't be doing that any time soon lol

I'm Horde so I haven't seen this. The Taelia reveal blew my goddamn mind. The Jania storytelling is superb. The Drustvar make me want to roll a Kul Tiran druid. It's all so good.
That line of dialogue from Tandred is hilarious.
Genn and Katherine conversation in the memorial was some heavy stuff, some quality writting right there!
