I ordered both your versions of jerky and ate both packages within one hour. My wife tried to tell me that you are not supposed to eat that much in one sitting, but I am proof she is wrong again.
Tom needs to just join the channel. He been in the background working hard on the 55. I know works for a different company/channel. Welcome to the channel Cooper!
Tip: I always test the cooling system with straight-up water in case of leaks. Saves time and money on lost anti-freeze. I love watching Fab Rats, Welcome to the channel, Cooper.
I was going to be big and bad and say now you have a real car on the channel, but I’ll keep my yap shut. Cars sitting is bad, stuff like that shows. I can’t help but think that all you guys remind me of my group of friends I’ve had for 55 years, there is nothing better than wrenching on cars and cutting up with friends and family. Fab Rats is the best channel on You Tube, thank you for all your hard work and time.
LS is the cheapest way to make power. Parts have gotten pricey for those old flat tappet engines. A plain jane Valiant brought back to life is good no matter what. An LS with a Ford 9" will be wicked in that car.
The regulation is in the pump. If it's hung. The overpressured oil returns to the pan. If it's picked up trash in the oil and locked it closed. You must replace the pump. It is serviceable. Replacement is the best option.
Cracks me up. Spend all day on something you know is not going to end well, but had alot of fun doing it! One of the many reasons I love this channel! Keep it up Paul and crew, looking forward to the next one
I’m almost positive I saw ACME written on the side of that “fuel tank”! I seriously expected to see a quick little bird run in, yell MEEP MEEP at you guys and disappear in a puff of smoke!
Paul I can definitely tell you that silicone on a engine for a carburetor gasket is definitely very bad!!! When I was in high school I worked at three different jobs one being a tow company along the interstate I-35, another a machine shop building motors And the third a tire company!! Anyways when I was working at the tow company that also had a shop that worked on vehicles when we wasn’t out towing vehicles one of the local guys brought his old Chevy truck in that he drove every day for work at building fences for farmers and would put in miles of fence daily for sure!! He said he had a new motor put in just a couple weeks ago and it seemed as if it had been loosing power every day he said and while he and his guys was inside eating lunch asked if I could look at it while they was eating lunch and see if I could figure out why it was loosing power?? So I took the truck back to the shop and was looking it over and at first I was going to check the timing because I thought maybe it might have moved but as I was looking around I had noticed that the carb had silicone around the intake and carb for a gasket and as soon as I seen that and noing that he drove miles and miles of gravel roads every day fixing fences and building fences I just new that it had sucked all the gravel dust in and wiped the rings out that quickly!! I stopped before tearing into anything else so that he could go back to the shop that had put the motor in and make them pay for the screw up for sure!!! When I walked back up front he was definitely surprised to see me up there so quickly he asked if I had figured out anything or not and then I explained to him what the issue was and he was definitely not happy about it after spending almost 8,000.00$ on a brand new engine and to have it all installed and not even last a couple weeks and it was definitely ruined!! Yes it could be fixed but the engine would have to be pulled out and torn down probably honed and definitely new rings along with a thoroughly good cleaning and all that definitely takes time and he used the truck every day for work!! He had told me to get another engine coming and he would definitely be having me put another new engine in and that would be the quickest fix for him and he could see if the other shop would even do anything about there screw up or not but the shop was about 3 miles from my house and I definitely new the guy and I had also worked for him in the past and that was just one of the many reasons why I had quite working for that tire shop and engine shop!! Anyways I was able to get him another engine that same day and had everything done in two days and he was back to work with his truck!! As for the shop that put the engine in the first time we’ll he definitely did not stand behind his work and definitely did not make it right for the guy and he also lost another customer with all his other hundred of customers that he had screwed over in the past also!!! If you are going to be a shop you definitely should stand behind your work if you definitely want customers to keep coming back!!! Also when I worked for that shop a customer came in and had a flat tire on his vehicle!! I took it off his vehicle to check it and it ended up being ruined!! I told the customer and asked him what he would like to do now?? He said well I guess I really need to buy a couple new tires to put on do you have a couple new tires the same size?? I went to look and we did not but could have them here the next day and I could put a used one on until the new ones come in if you want?? So that was what I did and didn’t charge him the the used tire because he was buying two new tires that we did not have in stock!!! When the owner of the tire shop came back from a service call for fixing a tractor tire and I told him what I did and that he needed to order the two tires he blew up at me for not charging them for the used tire!! Seriously he wanted to charge the customer for a used tire that wouldn’t even be on there vehicle for more than 15 hours and he would get the tire back and I had sold them two new tires!! Really that is definitely wrong for sure!!! Plus just the extra kindness being able to help the customer out so they can get back home and maybe do a couple things while they wait on new tires that he was even supposed to have in stock!! I don’t No about any one else but that is definitely how I would want to be treated if I had an issue with a situation like they had!! So just to make the owner happy I took 20.00$ of my own and paid him for the used tire that I put on there vehicle until they came in the next day for me to put the new tires on!! When they did I put the used tire in my truck while the owner was still at the shop while I put there new tires on and while the customer was still there and one of the other shop workers that I had put the used tires in my truck the boss blew up at him and told him that is not where that used tire goes!! So then I had to remind the owner don’t you remember yesterday when you was yelling at me for not charging them for the used tire and then I ended up just paying you for the used tire so that you didn’t think anyone was screwing you over on anything!! Well since I paid for it then that is my tire and not for you to try and screw somebody else over write??? Oh he was definitely not happy but that is how that shop works and that is why someone every day quits going to his shop to have anything done!! Oh I can definitely tell you plenty more stories on how he screwed people over including my dad also!! Barts tire and auto in New Virginia iowa you definitely do not want to have any work done by them at all!! Just saying!!!

Paul you definitely have the automotive education channel never in my life would I have thought that I would see an oil filter almost explode and it never crossed my mind that the oil pump in the engine needed a pressure regulator, great job thanks.
The funnel gas tank reminded me of a story my stepdad told me about a camping trip to Mexico he took way back in the day. They were camped near a main road in the desert riding dirt bikes and while they ate lunch this old early 50's chevy came chugging down the road and stopped near by. One guy got out of the passenger side with a gas can and went to open the hood. He then started pouring gas into a paint can hanging over the intake manifold and the driver started cranking. Passenger guy slams the hood as the car started moving again and he dove in the window as it got up to chugging speed and went out of sight.
1) Welcome aboard Cooper! 2) Back in 1983 I had a job that was memorable for two reasons: A) My office was high up and had a great view of the Seattle Kingdome being built a few blocks away, and B) my boss at that job had a Mopar just like that one. Thanks for waking up those memories :)
If you've ever listened to the Car Talk radio show, they would always talk about one brother's Dodge Dart. The Plymouth Valiant was its cousin. Getting this car to do a burnout once the crack was detected was A Futile and Stupid Gesture. Thank you guys for putting in the effort.
There are 2 freeze plugs on the back of a small block Mopar one on either side of the cam. That is probably where that one came from. A good recipe for a 318 is 360 heads on top, a factory 87 4 barrel intake is a decent piece, a little heavy but flows good. Runners are the same as a 340 intake. Put a 340 cam in it. You've pretty much have a 340 top end and it will make good power. I ran one in an 80 volare for 6 or 7 years, would hang with a 5.0 mustang and I had 3.23 rear gears in an 8.25 Mopar rear
Welcome Cooper, rhymes with Pooper Scooper. Also Super Duper. Depending on the day. That engine looks like amateur hour. Good thing you saved it. Ty for taking us along
I had a Dodge aspen back in the day that had the slant 6 blow up at any time with no warning that we had fun in. Good luck and I’m sure you’ll make it better than it is.
I had a 71' Dart swinger with a 360. It was an 82K original mile car. I lost it in the Almeda Fire in 2020 in southern Oregon. I loved that car. I hope to get another one someday!
I drove my brothers 70 Dodge GTS 340 4 barrel ( if memory is correct) while he was in vietnam my senior year of high school. Thrush mufflers. Loved driving that car. Hope you get this car running well.
I Bet You Can Paul, Come on Now! Hey Michelle Hope all is Good & Y’all are Getting ready for the season to change! 😊 your biggest Fan from South Central Pennsylvania. hopefully one day I’ll cross the great country and visit the rat pack
I rigged a fuel system with a small can, hole in the lid to a fuel line to feed a carburetor. I worked great for a few minutes, then backfired, blew the fuel line off and gravity supplied fuel to the fire on top of a 390 Ford Galaxy. As I pulled off my shirt to put out the fire my dad hit it with the water hone to put it out. Then I had fuel all over the engine, under the car and everywhere. Luckily I was able to smother it out before any damage happened. I had flashbacks when you grabbed the funnel.
I ordered both your versions of jerky and ate both packages within one hour. My wife tried to tell me that you are not supposed to eat that much in one sitting, but I am proof she is wrong again.
oh yeah don't listen to her I eat so much jerky in a sitting that my jaw gets tired out from chewing😂
You can prove it to her , but she won’t still admit she was wrong😂😂😂
I had mine gone within 10 min. Was the BEST jerky I've ever had and when able, will b ordering more.

I once shot a small buck and made it into jerky and I ate most of it in one night. 😂I was a teenager though.
Well, if you can’t, it was a valiant effort
I like what you did there!
Welcome abord Cooper! Make your mark as part of the Rat team!
Up here in the rust belt we have serious envy of all the cool old cars you guys find. (lots of the 70’s motorhomes had 440’s in them, just saying)
Yeah they know cuz that's what they did the last time they had a Chrysler product they got the 440 out of an old motorhome
Rust Belt native... nothing survives up here.. soo sad.. 😥😭
You need to HEMI that Valiant!
Welcome to the Fab Rats family Cooper.
First time I seen a CAT scan performed on this channel
@@mikekraan823 yes please!!! 🙏
they did come with a 440 tall block from some dealers and black has a 500 cube version of that.
I agree. Hemi.
360 is plenty of motor for those cars anything heavier will upset the handling anything newer or an LS motor would be dumb
Good to see PAPA DAR is still around 👍

It is always good to have your car cat scanned first.
In this case the cat scan didn't definitively prove anything.
After the CAT scan it's always important to get the Lab report.
@@dalegereaux1863 there's the problem, they don't have a Lab.

That car deserves a 340 if you can find one. If not, stroker a 318. KEEP IT MOPAR!!!!!
Modified slant 6 with triple Webers 😁👍
You know how much Mopar costs it's triple any thing else that's why people don't keep shit original because it's crazy priced and no one can afford it

That was awesome entertainment! I love how you told grandma to pay attention 😂 time for a motor home 440!!!!!
I drove my brothers 70 Dodge GTS 340 4 barrel ( if memory is correct) while he was in vietnam my senior year of high school. Thrush mufflers. Loved driving that car. Hope you get this car running well.
Well, Coop, that was a heck of a first day. 😳 😂
"Keep up, grandma, do I need to get the crayons. 🖍 " Good one, Paul.😂
I Bet You Can Paul, Come on Now! Hey Michelle Hope all is Good & Y’all are Getting ready for the season to change!
😊 your biggest Fan from South Central Pennsylvania. hopefully one day I’ll cross the great country and visit the rat pack
Awesome episode. Everyone was is in great spirits. Its is or could be a pretty cool car too. I'll catch you guys Wednesday.
Welcome aboard CooperRat. Looks like it takes a village to get a burnout ❤😂🎉
The funny thing is for all of the problems, when it was running it didn't sound horrible.... and it was ALL worth it for the burnout
That left rear freeze plug corrodes first, replaced many working in trans shops back in the '80s. You are breaking the new guy in right!
How about an old school 440 in that Valiant? Let your son feel the real power of the old school days!
I love socks she/he just showed up one day and never left
You guys gave it a good effort. Can't do much with a block that's been frozen though.
I would check those battery cables for something pinched or nicked, and shorting out before even hooking up a battery!
I like the new guy.. he seems chill.. he'll fit in well!
Stand alone harness and a 5.7 Hemi switch it up a bit 😂
