Viserys and Rhaenys are first cousins. Their grandfather was king. The kings oldest son and heir was Rhaenys father and he died. Then the younger brother, Viseryes father, dies. So they held a grand council of all the lords to determine if it should be the oldest child/grandchild or the oldest MALE child/grandchild. They decided male.
In the books, the council was choosing between Viserys and Laenor. Rhaenys had already been passed over. When her father died, Baelon was named heir over her.
@@havok6280 I wish we could have spent more time with the old kings sons in the book.
@@locutusoflulz well there could always be another prequel. Add that to the long list... of well... HBO shows that won't come to fruition. Possibly movies. I mean these books have so much to explore!!!
Too bad D&D didn't explain it well enough like you did. They rushed through stuff, instead of taking their time & let the episodes breath a little....Oh wait, that was the last series, who are we to blame to leave things unexplained now?
@@havok6280true. Though this isn't the books 😊.
Caraxes is called the Blood Worm, because he was born elongated with some "deformities".
Them Firewyrm genetics are strong
i didnt know that. good info!
Viserys' first wife Aemma Arryn was already his cousin. She was a granddaughter of the old King Jaehaerys we saw in the prologue.
Is this the time to remind you that Viserys's parents were siblings, and his grandparents too?😂Marrying a cousin is the least weird think here. Couisin marriage was done by other noble houses too, like the Starks for example.
Tywin married his cousin as well
And his first wife was his cousin, if I'm not mistaken. Haha
Starks even had an uncle marry the niece or aunt marry nephew. I forget which, but they had that too. 😂😂
@@JashanaC yes Aemma
Went way back to triple digits in my ancestry and back in the days of early centuries, there was a bunch of that going on. Get this...Sir Thomas Kitson b. 1485 is My 15th GGF, my Daughter's 16th GGF & Princess Diana's 13GGF on the Spencer side from one of his Daughter's married into our Family. He is ALSO my Daughter's 13GGF on her Dad's side, through Sir T. Kitson's Son. My Daughter said "that's why I have mutant green eyes" 😂💚
Yes, Vhagar is totally chillin' with her "dragon pension". 😂😂
And Caraxes isnt weird. 😢 He's my favorite deformed draggie.
I like to call him Noodle Boy
@@TheRAH14Show some respect!!
@@robtintelnot9107I meant that with the utmost affection...he's a precious little noodle 🥰
@@TheRAH14 I'm only teasing. Lol
Daemons dragon is sick, its red, slick, and cunning. I feel like for whatever reason its the most violent dragon in the show and were gonna see that in season 2
"He called your dead son The Heir for a Day..."
Did he? Or did Otto tell you that?
I mean he practically admitted to saying that. When confronted he didn't deny it and just said: everybody grieves differently (or something to that extend)
My recollection is that Daemon did not answer one way or another. Almost like he is Targaryen Prince who doesn't feel it necessary that conquerors answer accusations of the conquered. @@evatesche
It could be that Daemon referred to poor little Baelon as the Heir for a Day, but he might have said it in a respectful tone, genuinely wanting his nephew's memory to be respected. We don't know....
When you said, “Dear God, make me a dragon, so I can fly far, far away…“ I just about pissed myself laughing.
Instead of a map...
I think you guys gonna need a family tree/ tracking image
I second this… let’s minimize the map and build a family tree 😂
"Rhaenys is my favorite cousin after all" Dude she's your only cousin now that your wife's dead.
"Dear god, make me a dragon...". LOL!!! Im dead
Marrying rhaenyras best friend isnt the only way viserys has wounded her. Rhaenyra us accepting of viserys' new marriage because its his duty. But he married someone for passion, not position. This shows that he isnt marrying for duty and that he is kinda over rhaenyras mother. You can understand how this would make her feel
That's not really the biggest hurt I feel. This marriage would not have just appeared out of nothing. There was a lead up to this that was kept from her. Her own best friend was meeting with her father and said nothing of it to her, nor did her father.
@@garethlawton5278 this is also a good point
I don't think Viserys married Alicent for passion. If Alicent and Laena were the same age, he would marry Laena. It was a the matter of not waiting to start having children, since he also thought he was dying.
watch one more time what Rhaenys saied.. king will marry, and there will be children, who will have a claim to the trone. She feels like Alicent betrayed her
@@ScarlettM i dont think he though he was dying to the point of two years being a long wait tbh. It is for passion in the sense that someone older was more appealing to him
I love Cody saying “Criston Cole I don’t know if he is going to be an important character.” 😂😂😂
They both jump to conclusions without letting things play out

@@OldoclandisSadly, I have to agree. I loved their GOT reaction but HOTD not as much and we're only two episodes in.
Early days guys, give em a chance come on.
This is hilarious. Hearing you mock my baby boy Caraxes is terrible yet funny at the same time: fun fact, his long serpentine body would’ve been impossible to fly with if it hadn't been for the sail/fin like wings on his hind legs, and his roar is due to a deviated septum that makes it hard for Caraxes to properly communicate with other dragons.
Also, Caraxes is a lot older than Syrax - he was actually the dragon of Princess Rhaenys' dad, before he died and then Daemon later claimed the dragon. Similarly, the dragon Rhaenys rides was once the dragon of Daemon and Viserys's mother.
The Free Cities are the nine cities in western Essos : Braavos, Volantis, Pentos, Lorath, Lys...
We've been to some of them in GoT. :)
And thank you Cody for that "You privileged fucks!", yeah you got it, that sums up HotD quite nicely. ^^
it was funny that they're supposed to speak in valyrian dialects but in the show they just speak the common tongue of Westeros, even when Syrio Forel had an accent in S1
From north to south, the free cities are Braavos, Lorath, Norvos, Qohor, Pentos, Myr, Tyrosh, Lys, and Volantis.
Daemon loves his family he would never hurt his brother or niece.
The actor comparison you made there was incredible lmao
I audibly gasped when they show the actor 😂 I was like oh just you wait. You think they look alike now😂
“I WILL SPEAK OF MY BROTHER AS I WISH….YOU WILL NOT” one of my favorite daemon lines and moments 👏🏾 I hope they don’t skip over that
That is such an absolute Key statement by Daemon. It let's you know, deep down like he told Viserys, he will protect his big brother. Love it
hahahaha omg the comparison of the actors :D Cody...
“He could be his son!” I’m like wait a minute 🤔😂
I'm watching the last kingdom. Amazing show. And ewan Mitchell was literally opposite to aemond. I love him as osferth.
Hahaha. That was funny
@@Noone91875 Osferth is great ❤ I hope they get around to watching The Last Kingdom some day, it's a great show that is so badly in need of some new good quality reactions. They might like Vikings as well.
Omg the Jenny prayer from Bridgette 😂 😂 made me burst out laughing
I was struggling to remember where it was from till you said Jenny. 😂😂
showing Ewan Mitchell next to Matt Smith and their resemblance made me giggle
The *Free Cities* are the city states on the western coast of Essos, just on the other side of the Narrow Sea.
In this case it's an alliance (the Triarchy) of the three cities Myr, Lys & Tyrosh.
The *Stepstones* is a group of islands in the middle of the Narrow Sea between Westeros and Essos, which means they're on an important trade route.
That's why pirates in service of the triarchy target them.
As ppl mentioned the intro is the targaryen bloodline from Aegon and his sisters all the way to Rhaneyra. It’s also cool how like in GoT the intro also changes with the storyline, we follow different bloodlines if the episode focuses on them some are flooded which means they are dead like Aegon the conqueror and when people are added to the bloodline they get a symbol that represents them too
I will try to help you understand:
Viserys and Rhaenys are cousins. The two are Jaehaerys' grandchildren.
Rhaenys was Aemon's daughter, he was the heir to the throne.
Viserys and Daemon were sons of Baelon.
Aemon died and Baelon was named heir instead of Rhaenys. She was ignored by her grandfather.
Baelon also died and then the great council took place where Viserys was chosen and Rhaenys rejected again.
the intro is the bloodline all the way from aegon to rhaenyra, but its pretty complicated even i who knows the bloodline cant make sense of everything
Yes! It is, literally, the family bloodline. Each of the devices represents someone in the line, beginning with Aegon the Conqueror (represented by his crown), the paths of blood represent children. When a device fills with blood, that means the person it represented is dead. It does move pretty quickly, and it's a bit dark, so it's really hard to keep up with who's who (I believe someone did a YT video going through it slowly and pointing out who is represented by each). Note that the last one shown represents Rhaenyra... the symbol on it is the charm on the necklace that Daemon gave her.
They run through it too quickly. I think it would be much easier to follow it if the visuals were slowed down just a bit.
“Dear God, make me a dragon, so I can fly far far away.” Fuck, you got me good, Bridget.
Crabfeeder was a prince admiral from Myr. He wears the harpy mask due to grayscale. His scars, are from an attempt to remove the skin similar to Sam's approach with Sir Jorah.
I, like many others in sure, am stoked to see your reaction to the battle of the step stones!
You guys are great as is the community here!
Cheers all!!!
So far I thing you have a "wrong" lecture on Deamon. In that episode tho there was a quote that embodies him fully : "I will speak of my brother as I wish. You will not".
Yeah, I agree. They definitely have missed something cause it seems they don't understand this character at all. Perhaps they should be paying attention more, instead of making fun of every damn scene... lmao. I get that they want to be entertaining but making fun all the time is not a good idea imo, they're missing a lot of important moments because of it. This is the type of show where you should be paying attention to the details, otherwise, you're lost and then it becomes more annoying than entertaining...
@@luminaratano3935 Most people who haven’t read the book, or seen the entire season, understand his character.
19:33 According to the lore, Caraxes has a mutation that led to the long neck.
Viserys' first wife Aemma was also his cousin, guys. You're gonna have to get used to that p quick
I know, kind of annoying when reactors apply modern day norms to these types of stories, it’s like get over it all ready & move forward. Just seems immature.
8:55 This is the Sept of that era in Westeros. LONG before the Sept of Baelor was built.
It was probably the Sept inside the Red Keep, because the big dragon skull was there, and the Targaryens generally kept those close.
Marrying a cousin isn't even considered incest to westerosi as it was quite common in real medieval times tywin and joana were cousins
Marrying cousins isn't even considered incest by today's standards in most parts of the world.
It was observant of you to see that you didn’t recognize the Sept. This building no longer existed in the Game of Thrones era. It was replaced by the Sept of Baelor. Baelor was a future Targaryen king and very religious. You would remember the Sept of Baelor as the place where Ned was executed on the steps outside. And quite a few events happened inside the Sept of Baelor, including Tyrion and Joffrey’s weddings. And the funerals of Joffrey and Tywin. And it is the building that Cersei had blown up at the end of Season 6. The other big building that is a significant part of King’s Landing at this time, but doesn’t exist by the Game of Thrones era is the Dragon Pit where they house the dragons. You might recall that they met in the ruins of the Dragon Pit at the end of Season 7. It was the place where they all got together to discuss the coming problem of the Army of the Dead and what they were going to do about it.
For reference, Alicent and Rhaenyra are both 14 in the first 2 eps
Alicent is older than Rhaenyra in the books by a little bit. Its likely the same in the show. Rhaenyra around 15 and Alicent 16-17. Still young but yeah.
@@TorgoMazing Alicent is around 18 in the books but in the show she’s younger
@@TorgoMazingthey're both 15 in episode 2.
@@TorgoMazing they are the same age in the show which is 14 in the first ep, just look it up
@@TorgoMazingno they changed alicent completely for the show compared to books.
I love how the showrunners know at this point people would still be reeling from the fact that Viserys may be about to marry his cousin so the showrunners are like "oh yeah, she's also 12" lol!
The crabfeeder is a crazy name lmaoooo. And yes, Alicent is the same age as Rhaenyra so they're about 14-15. In this world cousin marriage isn't weird but what makes the Targaryens stand out is that they marry siblings and aunts and uncles which is considered weird in this world too. Tywin Lannister's wife was his cousin. In this case Viserys and Rhaenys are cousins which makes Laena not related to Viserys enough for it to be considered weird in this world lmao. Regarding the six month time jump, be prepared for a few of them in this show.
I think a reason why Viserys is so concerned about having more heirs is because Targaryens tend to die young. His grandfather King Jaehaerys had 13 children and all but two of them died before him, leaving his grandchildren as his heirs. (of the two surviving ones there was a son who was a Maester and a daughter who was disowned, so they couldn't be considered heir) The more kids he has the better chance there is for the family to live on.
So many people here spoiling characters, let them find out and discover characters on their own, dont tell them whos loyal and whos not after 2nd episode? So many character personality spoilers here in comments I hate it
The free cities are places like Pentos, Volantis and Bravos from game of thrones. The triarchy in particular is made up of the following free cities: Myr, Tyrosh and Lys, who used to be rivals but have allied in this shows time period. They are to the east of Westeros on your map you use to track deaths though not all of them may be listed.
You mentioned marrying cousins as if that would repulse in Westerosi great lords.
Just to clear things Ned Starks parents are cousins, Tywin Lannister married his cousin, in Game of Thrones Sansa was betrothed to Robyn Aryn, her cousin. Cersei sleeping with Lancal and him being her cousin was never an issue with their father in the sense that they were cousins but instead that Cersei would sexually temp her own family that was only 17 outside of marriage, so to just use him.
In short cousin marriage aren’t really seen as incest with Lords in Game of Thrones
Oh and Viserys Targaryen definitely wouldn’t have an issue marrying his cousin twice removed when he was just married to his cousin when she was 11 and he was 16. He also immediately attempt consummating the marriage against advice due to how young his child wife was. Aemma had her fist child to term, Rhaenyra, at the age of 15 however that was not her first pregnancy. It’s very possible all the attempts to impregnate her at such a young age, before development, made her less viable at carrying children.
It’s always fun to hear peoples pronunciations of the names. 😂
I wish more people reacted to Outlander. Seeing Graham McTavish makes me so happy.
Who also acts in The Witcher as well!!!
Is this a good time to mention modern medicine still uses maggots to treat certain wounds? 😎
Absolutely!! And leeches!! They're both highly effective at what they do!!
Actually as king he cannot put off marriage, because he needs to produce more heirs in case something happens to him or the princess.
You better not talk bad about my goodest danger noodle Caraxes!
What's gonna be next? Bad words about Granny Vhagar just because she asks if Dorne is conquered yet and if she can commit some war crimes?!
No one has mentioned yet but Syrax and Caraxes are known to mate often. So when Caraxes sees Syrax and coos at her on the bridge, he's basically saying "oh hey babe"
If he's bothered because they're cousins... oh boy
Rhaenyra has foiled Otto's plans twice in this episode... 😁😁🤣
1.) the king's guard choices:
Rhaenyra wants to choose the best candidate for the safety of her father.
Otto's choice would've been political: he wants to give the appointment to noble families as a political favor, to strengthen alliances.
(The question is if he thinks of alliances to the king - or if he deliberately wants to bring "his" people in positions of power, playing his own game. 🤔🤔)
2.) Otto wants to get rid of Daemon and tries to drive a wedge between him and the king:
He didn't want the king himself go to Dragonstone because the brothers would probably talk it out.
Daemon just wants his brother's attention.
As soon as Otto came to Dragonstone he went immediately for confrontation and started to insult Daemon to escalate the situation.
Then Rhaenyra came in and put an end to it.
i wonder, what was ottos plan, because hes life expectancy at that time was 10min max...
You guys don't seem to have the mind for politics even after 8 seasons of GOT. And how are you still unaware of Targaryens practicing incest to keep the power of bonding with dragons to their own house? Also, asking why Otto isn't riding a drogon... Have you paid any attention until now?
As you can tell Damon is a psychopath but he's not disloyal to his family
never saw him say "heir for a day" only hand said he said it
You both are gonna LOVE Daemon
Hightpwer did not go to dragenstone in the king's stead because he was concerned about the king's safety. Hightower has left so that Demon and his brother have no chance of reconciling. Hightower wants it to escalate. Demon stole the egg to get his brother's attention. He wanted to talk to him. Hightower knows this and intervened.
In the same way, Hightower also manipulated the situation after the funeral. He told the king what Demon supposedly said so badly. But we viewers didn't see it ourselves. Demon has admitted to saying the words "heir to the throne for a day." But what's so bad about that? No one knows the context of this statement. Hightower, as the bearer of the message, manipulated the context in his own interest and made it look bad. Demon didn't know HOW Hightower told it and was stunned himself. He replied that everyone grieves in their own way.
The bottom line is that Demon didn't do anything wrong, at least nothing that could be proven. All stories come exclusively from Hightower, who wants to see his daughter on the throne. Demon would be the rightful heir to the throne. Hightower has already taken it out of the game.
But the two of you don't see any of that. You judge without thinking. You never really listen either, but accompany every half-sentence with stupid comments.
I would suggest that you educate yourself in history and politics. Then you might get an understanding that the king is constantly making the wrong decisions here. He acts more as a father than as a king. And as king, he has more people to protect than just his closest circle of acquaintances. This includes marrying a 12-year-old, even if no one likes it, but that's exactly what saves 100,000 lives.
Your first paragraph breaking down Daemon’s actions are so spot on & to your point, this shouldn’t be so hard to infer. I don’t understand how these reactors & others don’t pick up on it. Very simple thinking. And just bc the music gets darker & Daemon & Corly’s were meeting in private they acted as if Daemon literally stabbed his brother in the back. They weren’t planning to attack the king, they were planning on how to protect their property. It’s like they can’t think for themselves, the music is scary therefore this moment must be bad. It’s ridiculous.
If you look (and listen) closely, you'll see that Daemon's dragon (Caraxes) and. Rhaenyra's dragon (Syrax, who is female), get along pretty well, there don't seem to be any territorial issues between them; they were vocalizing greetings to each other...Remember that dragons can sense (and react to) their riders' feelings.
Was funny seeing Ewan Mitchell go from the Virgin Warrior monk Osferth on Last kingdom to Aemond Targaryen
The intro goes through the targaryan bloodline
Shout outs to all my fellow Crabfeeder Stans, he is cherished and appreciated
If there's a resource that allows a spoiler free way to look it up you should definitely add almost everyone to the board. It's a much smaller show than GoT cast-wise so a lot of "smaller" characters are a little more important
Ceraxes is a deformed dragon, nicknamed the blood worm because of his anatomy
His egg was broken, that's why he's deformed
This is so helpful, as it seems forever ago that I’ve watched this. I’m looking forward to seeing the second season and now I will remember what is going on. Thank you so much. The maps are amazing.
Rhaenys dad wasn’t king…he died before he could become king just like viserys dad. Also viserys already married his second cousin lol aemma was also half Targaryen like Bridget said they are Targaryens even the old king and his wife was siblings and even daemon mom and dad was as well. Did you ask why Otto wasn’t riding a dragon or you meant daemon? We seen daemon ride his dragon last episode and only Targaryens can…not even the Velaryons can ride them normally.
19:20 Caraxes making failed rap or love songs for Syrax, Caraxes is in love!
😂 Yes, they will have a lot of eggs and all Rhaenyra kids and daemon dragons will be form syrax and caraxes
he really did whistle at her 😭
@@TheRAH14 he really needs to improve ahah
They still use maggots to clean wounds in some hospitals.
And you just witnessed the first movement of The Dance of Dragons.
Do a family tree with everyones dragons, its important to know and the map isnt as crucial in this season of the show as it was in g.o.t
I still think Caraxes' roar is the scariest one of all the dragons we've seen. There's something so unnerving and creepy about it.
Of course we are supposed to feel very uncomfortable with how young the Lady Laena is, especially in comparison to Viserys. But if you look back at Medieval English history, which is the inspiration for a lot of the stories in the Game of Thrones universe, you would find that quite a few Medieval English Kings made marriage alliances with foreign princesses when the princesses were only twelve. The majority of them more French princesses. These marriages were looked at as political alliances. The young queens had their own households, and often lived in separate castles during the early years of their marriage. Of course with Viserys everyone keeps stressing that he needs to marry again in order to have more heirs, supposedly for the stability of the crown. So having to wait several years before that was even possible doesn’t seem like the best idea. Yet Alicent’s youth also doesn’t seem much better.
Also, y'all may already know this but there are a LOT of big time jumps through the whole 1st season...this one from episode 1 to 2 is actually one of the smaller ones LOL
The Texas Crabclaw Massacre
You mean... The Stepstones Crabclaw Massacre 😜
Caraxes’s nicknames The Blood Wyrm for obvious reasons I think 😂
That is Lord Lyonel Strong of House Strong who has served as Council for the Crown of Generations..... It's his SON'S you need to focus on....
Just one curiosity for non-book readers: Summerhall is in the Map of Westeros you used , but it was built by Daeron The Good for his Dornish Queen and to celebrate the entrence of Dorne into the Kingdoms, finaly, TRULLY, finishing Aego`s Conquest. Like, some 50 years before Daenerys or some 80 years after Rheanira.
edit1: typos
Edit2: asked 'where is this?'. Its the sept of Rememberance, but somehow rebuilt after Maegors doings. In GOT it is the Sept of Baelor. In HOTD Bealor didnt existed yet.
Yeah! It's a mistake
I believe the Sept shown is inside the Red Keep. The Sept destroyed by Maegor was, I believe, replaced by the dragon pit that we saw in the opening sequence of episode 1.
@@Noone91875 The map he's using is the same one he used for GoT. So it would represent what was in existence and known during that era 172 years later. I don't know if there have been any Westeros maps made available online that represent how things were at the time of HotD.
I hope people have let you know about the time jumps. Lol
So excited for this journey!
Keep up the epic work 🤩🤩
Caraxes was born deformed and underdeveloped in some ways giving him the appearance of a snake or worm, which is why he’s also called the ‘blood wrym’. His body kind of adapted unique traits so that he could still fly and function. that’s also why his roar is so nasally and piercing, it’s likely he has a dragon’s equivalent to a deviated septum.
Ohh Bridgett.... Peta Baylesh WISHES HE WAS OTTO HIGHTOWER
Cody:don’t do weird moments
HOTD: all this show is is weird moments lol
When the producers planned Caraxes' sounds they had a head canon that he had laryngitis due to his long neck so he made that weird whistle when he roar.
Game of thrones dragons have unique features from each other and Daemons dragon is called blood worm, it is very large as it old but it’s body is long and neck stretched looking much like fire worms that exist on the far side of the world that is theorized dragons came from.
I love how unpredictable this show is (mostly) in terms of "good guys" and "bad guys"
The free cities were all once ruled by Valyria before The Doom. They are in Essos.
I hope we get a show about old Valyria because I wanna know what happened.
We've been to some of the free cities in GoT: Bravos, Pentos, and they mentioned a few others Volantis, Lys (Varys came from there), Qohor...
Yeah I think the Triarchy is a union of Bravos, Penrose, and Lys. Usually these 3 cities are fighting among themselves but they managed to get together to back “pirates” (more like privateers since they’re government backed) in the Stepstones. If I remember correctly Crabfeeder is a Pentoshi prince who is dying of greyscale.
I only watched the season once before you started your reactions to it. But as you went through the map in the beginning you reminded me of so many incredible things that are going to happen and I can't wait for you to see them. I was planning to binge it again all in one or two days right before whenever season 2 begins (possibly August?), but maybe I should really just rewatch the season along with you, and then do a second rewatch in the summer or fall when it finally comes back.
Vicerys and Robert are nothing alike. That was a weird comparison. Vicerys isn't a drunk. Robert would have invented the Jetski the moment he heard about fighting, and zoomed there asap. They may both enjoy a party, but I'd say their motivations behind throwing them are opposites.
As long as Bridget continues to provide the voice of Syrax, I'll be happy
💀 that title
2:24 The casting for the show is insane if they only just found out that these two actors looked alike... in episode 2
lol you have to realize too that Otto Is also a second son who will inherit nothing. But has the highest position for any second son. Lolz as you can tell I’m an Otto simp here lol.
Leave my boi Caraxes alone, the poor noodle is disabled LOL.
Imagine watching eight seasons and lore of game of thrones and then asking how come otto is not a dragonrider..?
Caraxes is really cool dragon swift and lethal.
2:26 My God, I can't believe they just picked THIS actor to compare lol, I can't wait in a few weeks
My thing is...since Viserys felt weird about marrying the 9 yr old looking 12 yr old lol, why didn't he counter Corlys' offer by saying Rhaenyra & Leyna's brother should get together, seeing as how they're closer to the same age and the alliance would still be the same? That would've also given the king time to tell Rhaenyra, "hey daughter, so...how would you feel...about your bestie being your stepmom?"
I heard someone say that caraxys (daemons dragon) “noodles” around and I think that fits him perfectly
The blood in the intro is symbolising the relations between the houses. "The blood of the dragon".
The Free Cities are on the western part of Essos, near Westeros: Braavos, Pentos, Volantis, Lorath, Norvos, Qohor, Myr, Lys, and Tyrosh (the last three are part of the Triarchy).
Please keep this coming, yall for a rude awakening
It's almost as if people have never heard of the word Betrothel.
If you’re looking for Ewan Mitchell or the guy from Saltburn, you gunna have to wait a MINUTE! 😅
The story become more thrilling from ep 5 onwards. This first episode are introductory, good still but not the best in the series.
waiting impatiently for the next HotD episode. Love you guys.
a bit of advice going forward:
stop judging the relationships in this show through the 21st century lens and understand that it is heavily inspired by medieval europe. the age and possible incest is irrelevant. all that matters is politics.
for a house like the targaryens any instability can mean a total destruction. they HAVE TO consider politics before anything else. if the only available person for marriage in the right family is your 12yo cousin you marry your 12yo cousin and wait until they're the minimum age for producing an heir and then you produce an heir. that's it.
if you want to enjoy this show properly you have to realize this because otherwise you'll be stuck hating on characters for no reason other than making the right choice that you think is "disgusting" by 2024 1st world standards.
