Probably just because I think they used the vocal track from a demo version. They probably made the change because it's a little redundant to say "again" shortly after it already being in the song. While that is true, it makes more sense in the context of the song. I theorize that the song is about getting addicted to drugs. Being "born again inside this hell" suggests that after he (or the subject of the song) was exposed to drugs, they were essentially reborn in a world corrupted by it.

Yes, a good bit of Auto-Tune in studio. They are still amazing live as well, but for studio Hollywood Records is a pop label and requires them to have that pitch-perfect harmony at times (no natural vibrato of vocals and the vocal tracks line up perfectly in terms of movement, impossible to do naturally). The pitch-perfect harmonies during the verses especially are things that not even top tier singers can do
