Thx for this homie, wanted to play all the games before I try the new one coming out. All the other guides had me mad confused... took me awhile to come across this video, YT needs to recommend this video more than the others, they slackin frfr
Appreciate it so much! I'm working on a video for da2 ;)
Thanks for this,
Literally just bought the game on Steam Summer Sale 2024, so excited to try it out!
Same
NIIIICE a game that really shines with some well-placed mods tbh
Fantastic! Just when I was thinking about jumping into Thedas again, thank you for this.
I had a feeling I wasn't the only one 😂
@@ponponmods And props on making a female warrior warden. You have exquisite taste.
Good video man, I needed a recent video about DAO modding
Thank you so much! I bought the three games on EA last night since they are on sale.
Can you please make a mod list for the other two? I bought the games not knowing anything about the crashes problems and all that I have never modded a game before.
I'm working on a video for DA2 right now!
thank you sooo much, I'm in the middle of the story and I felt that it was time to add some mods.
Make sure you double check if each mod is mid game compatible!
Can't wait to hop in again :D
not only is this the most helpful & easiest to follow guide ive found, its also just put together really nicely. Dunno if that makes sense :3
Thanks! I'm working on da2 guide right now 🙏
You're a hero man, thank you
Thank you!!
thanks for the guide
+100000 aura points for this vid
Thank you for this video! It was really helpful and I loved the mods you used!! 😁
Hope I am not bothering you, I was also returning to this game after the announcement of the new Dragon Age game. One of the mods I liked to use before was Pineappletree's Vibrant Colors. I know you didn't show case that mod in the video, I seem to run into an issue where none of the skin tones work and the hair colors are all white and eye colors are all black (I have my settings on highest). Do you perhaps know what the issue is? Or if anyone in the comments may know I would love the assistance.
Thank you so very much😉
Did you try running the compiler?
@@ponponmods Yes I did. I got the hairstyles that I had downloaded but not the colors. Even when I have Pineappletree's by itself it wasn't working. :(
I'll look into it and try to get back to you soon!
@@ponponmods Thank you so much I really appreciate it! I'm not smart enough for this LOL 🤣
@@IceQueen9541 have you tried seeing if the mod works on its own without anything else installed? I wonder if maybe it's conflicting with something. The only obvious answers online are to use highest settings and the compiler which you've already done.
Thanks a lot
Shit, now I have error 51
Well, file check helped
@@Luengram File check just replaced your executable with the original. It is no longer patched for 4GB. I tried posting a fix but my comment was deleted. Waiting to see why before I post it again.
@@fad1969 Oh, no wonder it works that shitty
@@Luengram This is unbelievable. I'm trying to post the fix but my comment keeps getting deleted.
haii can i ask you about the override folder??? how can you get those? since i didnt haave it :( so it's very confusing to start modding on DA:O, thanks in advance!
sure! Go to C:/documents/bioware/dragon age/packages/core/override. If there is no override folder you can just create one within the core folder and it should work the same. PS I love your astarion icon ^^
i honewtly dont understand how no one fixed the horrendous, extra-small HUD. WHAT IS THAT
It is pretty small lol
use Nathanael's 4K Resolution Mod
Do we need to use the DAO Mod Manager or is Vortex acceptable?
I wouldn't recommend it. Vortex is known to have a lot of issues with dao mods
@@ponponmods Got it. Thanks!
How do you start playing the game when you're done installing the mods and stuff??
And btw, loved the modding guide video!
I bought dragon age origins and dragon age 2 through the steam summer sale. And I was just wondering if I start the game normally through steam or the DAO mod manager? Apologies, I am not well versed in the modding world lol
I don't have a problem running it directly from EA but I'm not sure about steam. Should be fine but maybe use the mod manager to be safe?
everytime i try to add a new mod i just installed following instructions, and then attempt to drag to the modmanager a pop up comes up saying "DAzip is already installed."
Which version of windows are you on?
@@ponponmods 11
@ponponmods and also, the chargenmorph compiler says it couldn't load file or assembly "propertygridEx" and the system cannot find the file specified?
This is my firat time modding, i followed your steps but the game wouldnt open, and when i open the mod manager now i have a few errors saying "could not find a part of path 'C:\DAO Mods\dazip' "
and "could not...path 'C:\DAO Mods\mods\override' " and theyd repeat twice, i have no idea what is happening.
There's two mods folders in your path?
@ponponmods I'm not sure, I never selected the path I don't think, Is there a way to change it? This is also my first PC I had only had a few weeks specifically to mod games like Dragon Age and Baulders gate, never realised how complicated it could be haha
@@ponponmods I solved the issue! In the options, the override packages folder and DAzip folders skipped from C:\DAO Mods\DOA-Modmanager\mods\override and had it as C:\DOA Mods\mods\override etc, I just redirected the to the files myself and it worked!
Glad you were able to figure it out 😎
Why was my comment deleted? The game's executable on Steam is encrypted so the 4GB patch doesn't work. It says the patch was applied successfully but you get an error when launching the game. I provided a fix for this. Please don't delete useful information before researching it.
I never deleted any comments?
@@ponponmods Oh, my apologies then. Perhaps it got auto deleted because it contained a link to Nexus? There's a mod there that provides an unencrypted version of the game's executable for Steam. This one is compatible with the 4GB patch. Do you have the game on Steam yourself?
No I have the game through EA/Origin so I never knew about this issue
@@ponponmods Ah, that explains it. Well, I was trying to post the fix to help someone in another comment thread but no matter what I try, my messages keep getting deleted. Anyway, thanks for the video and looking forward to your DA2 version. By the way, does DA2 also require a 4GB patch?
and is there a chance to share how that fix looks like?
