  • On December 22, 2002, the unique Joe Strummer left us.
To remember his spirit, I decided to upload this very rare document, an interview of Joe made in late 1995 by my late friend Nikola "Hellboy" Acin. This interview is unique, because it has Joe speaking to his friend Nikola, back during his "lost week-end".
It has never been heard before, outside of Nikola, Julien Temple and myself. Some parts of it were printed in Rock & Folk magazine in 1996, with a few soundbites used in Julien Temple movie "The Future is Unwritten".
The last minute of this interview, especially, when Nikola asks Joe if he will ever come back is a fantastic snapshot of Joe's state of mind.
I hope you enjoy it, and you keep the spirit of Punk going. We miss people like Nikola and Joe.

Ha Joe is definitely not happy at the start of this interview, but quickly warms up once the questions get good. Awesome chat, great topics discussed. Thanks for uploading!

Wow. That began very awkwardly a didn’t sound like it would be worthwhile but things started to flow much more naturally and genuinely. Such a nice discussion and i could finally hear the mutual respect between Joe and Nikola. Both their passings sadden me.

Being a bit rough as an act or a punk can interfere with relationships and I want to not blame myself too much. I'm not an anarchist.
