how well would thoughs bags work for other uses when not being used for the mower, like picking up garbage or recyclables or just using to tote around stuff?

You could use them to tote things. However, they are soft-walled and won't stand alone.

@@BasaPete Thanks I realized you mentioned that on your video. I have the PYT 9000 also but with a 54" deck, I can't find a lower chute assembly that is big enough anywhere unfortunately.
