    Great videos - I will be using them to help introduce welding to my high school beginner students. A stick welding video similar to your MIG/TIG videos would be awesome too...

    Thx a lot. I am so cunfused regarding influence of DC polarity to weld penetration. So what is better fo more penetration on base metal? DCEP or DCEN? And why? And is is the for all welding processes? Will be happy to get a proper answer.

      Great videos. I'm going to show them all to my kids. They have been bugging me something bad to learn how to use my everlast welder. I want to make sure they learn about the welder's internals as well as how to weld.

    Amazing, Bob! But there were some points in the video which I didn't understand well and had to rewatch the video and look them up on Google. Also, there are some glitches in your illustrations, sometimes video is not synced with your voice and other times various unwanted things like cursor, drop down menu or white bars appear randomly. Overall, I liked this video as it simplifies the welding methods you explained and gives a general idea of what they are. Nice job on drawings and diagrams! I guess if you could also make a series of videos on various systems of cars, airplanes, etc they will become very popular! There are many cool ideas for making videos. Your channel HAS the potential to become much more popular. Keep up the nice work ;)

      Thanks, Sepp! I know we kind of got in a hurry with this one. Sparky was really excited to talk about welding, so we imposed a short deadline on ourselves. We'll try to slow down and improve the quality in the future! We LOVE your feedback!

    • @seppa340
      @seppa340 7 лет назад

      No problem! By the way, it sounds like Sparky has something to do with electricity! Maybe he has topics to talk about in the field of electrical engineering as well! Can't wait for them ;)

    Hi, Bob. I know some people close their eyes while welding without wearing a mask or a helmet.
    Is that a dangerous thing to do? What are the health hazards or side effects of it?

    • @WeldNotes
      @WeldNotes  7 лет назад +2

      Golly, Shepp -- that's not recommended at all. There is a lot of UV coming out of the arc. That's going to burn their skin if nothing else. Also, the hood helps protect against flying spatter and sparks. You see it done sometimes -- especially when people are tacking an assembly together -- but that doesn't mean it's a "best practice." Also, welding without looking tends to produce some pretty lousy joints.
      I know folks will say "I've done this for ___ years and I've never gotten hurt," but that argument doesn't really hold water. I try to err on the side of caution.
      Thanks for the question!

    • @seppa340
      @seppa340 7 лет назад +1

      Thanks a lot! A user claimed on Quora that UV can even reach the retina through eyelids. I don't know if that's true but it sounds very scary!
