10/10 two very different episodes Your Shoe's Untied-the least memorable of the two segments in this episode by far, but still a joy to watch. There are plenty of laughs and cartoonish sight gags, and the song that closes it is fun if a little cheesy. Squid's Day Off-a much darker, weirder story that is, consequently, far funnier than it's cheery predecessor. There are some pretty grotesque visuals here, but they work as more than shock value or cheap gross out comedy, instead they're successful additions to the entire episode's oddly surreal atmosphere and absurd sense of humor.

Might I just say, when you watch Season 2, you’ll notice that there is a slight change in animation. Like, compared to Season 1’s animation that looks all hand drawn, Season 2 actually looks more digital than hand drawn. It’s a big advancement that not a lot of people noticed.

Yup, I'd say that the SpongeBob that was in Squidward's tub was a hallucination. Also, in "Something Smells", there is a minor sound error depending on which version you watch. In all current American airings, UK airings, most digital and streaming releases of this episode, SpongeBob walks up to a building and says, "Hi, building!" which causes the building to flee from SpongeBob's breath. He goes up to Patrick and says, "I just don't get it!" and Patrick says, "I don't either." However, on all DVD releases, the Nautical Nonsense and Undersea Antics Volume 1 VHS tapes, the Nick Scene It? DVD game, Canadian airings, Polish airings, Australian airings, and Arab airings (and the version you're seeing), the scene instead has "I just don't get it!" "I don't either." being repeated twice. According to the audio commentary on the season 2 DVD (which I own a copy of), this was a sound mixing error. Say, why would Pearl call Krabby Patties gross? The Krabby Patty is meant to be an absolute good; no one is immune to its tasty charm. Maybe, at this time, she never actually tasted a Krabby Patty. I don't want to put more on your plate, but one movie that would be great on your watch list is Big Fat Liar with Paul Giamatti. It's like a combination of Home Alone and The Sting where a teen works to get back at an abusive Hollywood Executive for stealing his homework story to use as a movie. It has the same humor as the best of spongebob as Paul Giamatti's character is such a nutty jerk that it's fun to see him get put through the wringer. Always great to laugh with you two.
