This is THE game that made me watch your stuff, I loved binge watching your videos. It made my life less misserable when dealing with a depression back then. I don't care about the balancing, it's fun to watch :)
Hey Robert, I used to watch a buttload of YT videos when I was feeling down/sad/depressed way back, it made me forget/feel better about things, even if for a short while. I am sorry to say you feel/felt bad but it makes me feel proud to hear that what other RUclipsrs did for me, I can/could do for other people. Hopefully you are doing better, appreciate the comment, a lot!
*WARGAME RED DRAGON!!!* This is awesome!!! I saw another video a while ago that was a similar game (or it was modded Wargame, I forgot) but this is one of my favourite RTS games of all time! 😃😃😃 I also played coop with my best buddy, this is tons of fun! Non stop action like Age of Empires II (or even more) but so much tactics and , well yeah, non stop action :D nice pick
@@theShermanator awesome, I know you mentioned you wanted to pull back this episode but I think the Seoul hold out you had the last time you played was really successful in stopping reinforcments from coming down, maybe something to do to stall for time.
Best way how to win first naval battle is 4 x pegasus and O.H.perrys attacking from right flank and sniping enemy ships. Keep resupplying missles for pegassus with lcu. WRD was for free on epic and steam autumn sales may caused sudden interest in your wargame videos.
I recommend for the first battle hold at one of the zones with a Kongo and 2 hazards and the rest be screening ships and just hold until you get more ships control you missiles and trust me you’ll win without losing anything
I once boarded CHAM-SU-LEE(Actual pronunciation ) during my previous service. And I was shocked that Eugen gave it a CIWS. But that kind of complex system was not on that tiny boat.
In this campaign the Pegasus are actually your best ships. Take 4 of them, disable their weapons, line them up in a row in missile range of your target, enable weapons, let them shoot one salvo and disable weapons again. They have 8 Harpoons each and shoot them in pairs, they can take down any ship in 1 or 2 salvos like that. Always target the closest ship first to expose your Harpoons to as little CIWS as possible. Since Pegasus don't have any CIWS themselves always have your other ships as protection in front of them to draw fire and provide CIWS. Pretty much the same with your helicopters. I usually disable the Harpoons on the other ships because they are mostly useless (you basicly have to manage them like the Pegasus to get them fire all at once to have an effect). That way you save a lot of supplies. Supply cost is what makes planes so strong actually, and the Hornets can be very good too if you manage to shoot down some Su-27s and / or Mig-31s with your ships or F-14s, otherwise you are very likely to lose them. You pretty much need all 3 Hornets at once, call them in perpendicular to your target and then let them turn in so that they attack the target in line abreast formation. The Pegasus work best because they are cheap for the amount of Harpoons they can fire, the Hornets can die more easily, and the helicopters don't do as much damage.
Yeah I got a new found respect for them, they are however a joke as they obviously have no CIWS so it's very costly to have a bunch of them + to protect them
I know I'm a little late to the party (and, not yet having caught up on this series, apologies if you've already seen the light) but I really wouldn't dismiss that Sabre squadron so easily. When I played this campaign a while back, they were the MVPs of the first stage of the war. Sure, 20 points to bring them in on the strategic map seems a little steep but once you do, you get a ton of them and, since they're only 65 points to deploy in the actual battles, you can fill up your air tab pretty quick and spam CAS for the rest of the battle. They are slow and their rockets won't do much against heavy armour but they eat through infantry and light vehicles out in the open and the North Korean AI loves charging massed infantry formations and APCs without adequate AA cover across fields, so if you know where to use them (i.e. somewhere the enemy doesn't have air superiority or much vehicle-based AA), they'll be absolute beasts especially since, and the stat card doesn't tell you this, they're DISGUSTINGLY quick to refuel and rearm so you can have them do a strike every couple of seconds. I swear, I've had battles where I only brought in a CV and some recon squads to dot around the map and annihilated entire divisions with point-and-click-airstrikes like one of those proto-tower-defense-games they had on Newgrounds back in the day.
@@theShermanator Haha, fair enough. Wargame AI being what it is, I'm sure we'll discover plenty of other entertaining ways to cheese it on this playthrough.
Great to see you in WG again. First subbed with the busan campaign gameplay from you. Do you know when the next ep will be up or have I missed something?
I'll always be confused and upset that helicopters can't rearm on ships. They have the damn pad on them for a reason, aaaaa! Not to mention the trailer shows them using it too.
So the top plane is the entprise task force is anti-ship and fire 4 anti-ship missiles there great for destroying ships. Best way to do it is get 2 or three and lob 8-12 missiles
Wargame is too small scale to make naval conflicts between warsaw pact and nato balanced. Natos fleet is carrierbased. The soviets and now the russians went for anti ship missiles which are far more deadly but not as long ranged as an aircraft carrier sending up a plane with an anti ship missile.
@@theShermanator Stubborn as a mule! Not always to my benefit, but at least it brings out some interesting situations and experiences 😅 I did enjoy this playthrough a lot.

I might have missread haha
Love watching this campaign man. One of my favorite campaigns from any game ever
Its great
Can’t believe the devs abandoned this game so sad the multiplayer on this is dying
I never played much MP, I hope they are working on another game that's more like WG than SD
There's a new SA focused dlc upcoming, so it's not completely abandoned.:)
This must be the third time you've done this campaign
~Ash and Shadows pls~

Funny fact Cham-su-ri's "CIWS" is not actually CIWS. That is in fact traditionally manned 20mm vulcans.
Oh man, horrible job

CIWS stands for Close-In Weapon System
SO I was correct I think :P
